Chapter 372: Dragon Slaying (Part II)
"Pull up, buddy!"
Luoxiya-Falling Heart has been active for a full three hundred years; his footprints cover the Bagu, and he could be said to be well-traveled and knowledgeable, but this was his first time seeing the Dwarfs' Dragon-Slaying Shells.
This certainly cannot be blamed on him, as not a single dragon that has tasted the flavor of a Dragon-Slaying Shell has ever returned to its home overseas. Even if they were not directly surrounded and killed by the Dwarfs, dragons that lost their ability to fly would struggle to hunt for food and would instead attract hunters from various other races.
In this world, it is not heard that dragons are particularly fond of kidnapping princesses and hoarding wealth, but every inch of their bones, flesh, skin, and scales is a precious material. A dragon-tooth sword or a suit of dragon-scale armor can be said to be the best equipment that races without enchanting capabilities can produce on their own.
The ancient black dragon Wave Vortex relied on the prompt from its rider and its own experience to pull up rapidly, dodging three incoming meteor-iron chains. However, both man and dragon knew this was far from enough; the bearded gunners were already reloading their pitch-black Artillery.
"Pururu!"
A mouthful of dark green, foul-smelling, and faintly steaming highly acidic breath was sprayed out from the black dragon's mouth.
"Quick, dodge!"
"And you, sir?"
"Heh, let the breath fly for a while longer!"
No Dwarf wanted to take this hit head-on, so they began to scatter and retreat. Due to the nature of dragon breath, neither spell nor Rune protection effects were very pleasant.
"Hulong!"
After dispersing the gunners, Luoxiya urged the black dragon to dive at high speed toward the main cannon; he wanted to make sure these tubes would never ring out again.
"Which fellow has had their legs go soft from fear?"
"That is?"
Sweeping past the bridge that obstructed their view, the pirate leader and the black dragon finally saw a Dwarf standing alone in front of the main cannon; not only did he not flee in a panic, but he also wore an unkind smile on his face.
"Storm Hammer Sinuoli!"
Luoxiya had sharp eyes; he exclaimed after seeing the small, Elf-style crown on the Dwarf's head. There was only one person on this ship qualified to wear it.
When the phantom of Khaine tore through the clouds summoned by Yin Yin, he and his dragon saw that Divine Statue wreaking havoc, but Sinuoli had deactivated his transformation when he returned to the front line by ship, so the pirate leader had failed to identify him at first.
"In the name of the honored god Grimnir, the Grudge of the God-Blessed Evildoers shall be settled today!"
"No!"
Luoxiya used all his strength to pull on the reins, but compared to the inertia of the dragon's accelerating dive, this was merely a mantis trying to stop a chariot; man and dragon still charged straight forward.
From the perspective of Wave Vortex itself, just as it prepared to swallow the Dwarf who had been scared soft by its might and chew him a few times, he suddenly expanded into a ten-foot-tall Divine Statue, simultaneously throwing the Warhammer in his hand toward its head.
"Bang!"
The new head of the Falling Heart family on its back was pulling hard on the reins, but it was of no use. The hammer smashed into its chin, containing power far inconsistent with its small appearance; the black dragon saw black before its eyes and crashed to the ground.
"Hehe!"
Having succeeded with a long-prepared strike, the corners of Sinuoli's mouth rose slightly. He had borrowed the power channeled by the Five Elements Compass and applied a ritual to himself to achieve such an effect. The Divine Statue immediately stepped forward and raised its right foot.
"Die for me!"
Luoxiya guessed what Sinuoli was about to do; the black dragon could only leave scratches on the deck of the treasure ship, but the Divine Statue had stomped out a depression when destroying the Blood-Bone Shenkan.
The master of the God-Blessed Evildoers could not sit by and watch Sinuoli step on the dragon's head; he leaped from the saddle, drawing his Scarlet Twin Blades in mid-air to strike directly at the Divine Statue's throat.
Although this fellow looked sturdy, Falling Heart had great confidence in the Scarlet Twin Blades in his palms. When he first started out, he slaughtered the Jijaruishi Temple in Ind, desecrating and smelting the Divine Statue they worshipped to obtain Blood Steel to forge his blades.
"Ding! Ding!"
"W-what?"
The Divine Statue did not pull back to defend; the twin blades slashed solidly onto its neck, but what answered the Falling Heart were two crisp sounds. The Pirate King froze for a moment; in the battle just now, he had left quite a few wounds on Yin Yin's dragon body with these blades!
"Ka!"
Sinuoli's Thunder Strike landed firmly on the massive head of Abyss Vortex.
"Ugh, roar!"
Having just regained consciousness from the dizziness brought by the Storm Hammer, the black dragon had not yet reacted before being struck again; its jawbone was shattered, and the scream it let out was no longer recognizable as a sound.
"Bong!"
"No need to be surprised, this set of armor was a gift from my master, the Rune Demigod Kelage!"
Sinuoli knew that these two hits alone would not take the life of the ancient black dragon; he triggered the Rune of Wrath and Ruin while explaining in a leisurely manner.
"Ahhh!"
The muffled voice of the Divine Statue fell into the ears of Falling Heart, making him feel as if he had fallen into an ice cellar. The Dark Elf attacked frantically, the Scarlet Twin Blades slashing repeatedly at the chest, crotch, joints, and other vital points, attempting to stop the Dwarf's subsequent actions, but none could break the defense.
"Ugh, cough."
"."
The blood-covered head of Abyss Vortex was lifted off the ground by the explosion triggered by the Rune; its consciousness blurred, and the sixth sense brought by thousands of years of long life told the black dragon that death was approaching.
"If it weren't for consuming too much stamina against that long snake earlier."
"."
As the powerless, struggling black dragon saw the Divine Statue raise a great axe with both hands through eyes blurred by blood, it thought this at the end.
"Pu!"
Sinuoli swung the great axe, Runes flowing on the blade, and the massive dragon head fell in response.
"Next, it's your turn!"
The Dwarf King suppressed the excitement in his heart and turned to face the constantly attacking pirate leader. No matter how sturdy the Heart of the Mountains armor was, one couldn't just stand open to be beaten!
"What immense power is this!"
"Even in legends, it wasn't this easy for Grimnir to slay a dragon, was it?"
"How many moves did His Majesty use?"
"Four moves, or three?"
The heated battlefield seemed to have been pressed with a pause button. From the soldiers' perspective, Sinuoli had only used a hammer, a stomp, a shock, and a slash; he had fought the dragon fleet Admiral and Governor of Weidong Province, Yin Yin, for a long time and even held the upper hand, yet the black dragon was just slaughtered like this!
Once Abyss Heart was dead, how could the master of the God-Blessed Evildoers have any heart to continue fighting? He pulled away and prepared to run toward the Black Ark. This Dwarf was even stronger than the most exaggerated rumors about him!
"Where, where are you going!"
Sinuoli shouted, he stepped forward to pursue but felt his legs as heavy as if they were filled with lead. Those few moves just now looked simple, but in reality, they were the result of careful planning, and they were an immense drain on his physical strength and mental energy.
"Whoosh!"
"Hm?"
The Dwarf threw the Storm Hammer again, but this invincible attack actually missed. The Corrupted Heart did not know what it had done, suddenly moving forward a great distance out of thin air.
