Chapter 436: Black-Heartedness and the Greenskin Rebellion
Latest URL: As another living Demigod of the Mountain Kingdom and a leading disciple who helped his master attain the Dao, Sinuoli still held some sway. Kelage paused his personal attacks and let all the Engineers go back to rest.
"Master, do you know where the Ancestor Gods went, and why they left this world?"
"Hmph! Your beard has grown long, and now you dare to examine your master? I don't know, feel free to enlighten me!"
"No, how could I dare? I am asking for your guidance!" Seeing Kelage's expression sour, Sinuoli hurriedly tried to make amends.
"You ask me this? Aside from Grimbrindal, who in the entire mountains could possibly know more than you, the Ancestor Chosen?"
"I found the warhammer of Sidemunier; what caused it to be left behind in the mortal realm?"
"You have not reached the realm of the Ancestor Gods! Focus on accumulating your foundation; once you can cast off the shackles of external objects and leave behind some legacy for your descendants, it will come naturally."
As he spoke, Kelage took out the Turni Rune Clamp that Sinuoli had repaired and handed it to him to display, then placed his own Forging Hammer on the table as well.
"Fine, let's set aside the matter of the warhammer for now. When do you plan to start forging your Godhood? Is there anything you need me to do?"
Previously, the Artifact Treasury System had always required finding fragments to piece together; this time, obtaining a highly practical finished product directly had made him a bit obsessed. Perhaps it was a custom for gods in this world to leave behind their handy tools before departing, but he still had a belly full of questions, and Kelage's ascension was the best reference.
"After we crack the secret of the Energy Core, that is. Those Little Beards are not to be relied upon. By the way, what did you say the name of the person who made it was? Right, Haotian Longdi. I stake my beard on the fact that his strength surpasses many gods; he might have the answers to your questions."
"That makes sense, but a long voyage to Zhendan is no easy task!"
The master's words enlightened Sinuoli. The Dragon Emperor and the Moon Empress living in seclusion in the Tianting certainly weren't doing it just to focus on creating new siblings for Miaoying. But now was not a good time; he didn't want to gamble on whether those two could see through the Beast Taming Collar.
"Cheers to the reactivation of the Colossus!"
After a rare, hearty drinking session, the master and disciple, along with the Engineers of Jiliuguan, once again threw themselves into the imitation of the Energy Core. Aside from being able to provide rituals to increase the possibility of inspiration, Sinuoli's knowledge of Zhendan technology from two lifetimes also played a key role.
"You've been gone for over half a year this time; you really should pay more attention to your own territory!"
Gnom, Lord of the Mountain Lake Fortress, was once again escorting precious resources to Jiliuguan.
Seeing snow appearing on the mountain roads again, he couldn't help but remind his younger brother.
"Hehe, Big Brother, you don't understand the situation in the Southlands! Sometimes, 'absence' is also a form of wisdom."
Sinuoli tore off a piece of the roast meat his sister-in-law had made, took a big bite, wiped his mouth, and said with a strange smile. The civil servants he had recruited from the Old World and the original Human administrators of the Southlands were fighting tooth and nail; one side was willing to be the Second Dwarf just for power, while the other refused to let go after getting a taste of it.
Under his instruction, the Western Depot and the Council of Elders of various strongholds were openly and secretly tipping the scales; for the same offense, one side might just get a fine, while the other would be directly expelled. Unable to find the person in charge, the Humans could only fill the cargo holds of the Haimenguan warships with complaint letters.
"Won't it fall into chaos if you are away for too long?"
"What if it does? I'm actually hoping they fall into chaos sooner. The Southlands, heh! They can't escape the palm of my hand."
Sinuoli's cold laugh sent a chill down Gnom's back. The transmigrator was using the "Pot-Mending Method" from the Art of Black-Heartedness—simply put, it meant setting a fire first and then putting it out. Once the Southlands fell into chaos, he would step in as an arbiter to legitimately reshuffle the deck and remove the hidden sores left behind by rapid development.
"Urgent telegram from Karak-Kadrin!"
The ultimate crystallization of the wisdom of the Dragon Emperor and the Moon Empress was difficult to crack even with the combined intelligence of the entire Mountain Kingdom and two Demigods leading the way. Sinuoli had almost lost all sense of time while immersed in it, until he was awakened by Prince Balin.
"What could possibly be the matter over at Agelimu's?"
In all the years since he had transmigrated, the Slayer King had always been a solver of problems, not a creator of them. Very few things could withstand a strike from the Dargo Axe, and if they didn't die, he could just strike a few more times.
Doubts aside, Sinuoli immediately stepped onto a Helicopter and headed north. Before he even landed, he discovered that Slayer Keep was already under martial law; the flight crews were all on standby, and many had already gone out on reconnaissance missions.
"Ahetanmu has returned to report for duty. It brought back news from the Dark Lands, saying that a group of Greenskins has rebelled against those corrupted ones and is currently likely to march west, attempting to strike at Peak Pass and enter the Old World. By the way, that fellow also said there is a secret it can only tell you; it is at the original Mercenary Group station!"
Because of the support for the recovery of Red Eye Mountain, Karak-Kadrin's forces were currently relatively thin, so the Slayer King was busy deploying forces for defense and only briefly entertained Sinuoli before letting him go about his business.
"News from the Dark Lands? I wonder if it has any connection to that expeditionary force in the Southlands. I didn't want to deal with them, yet they still insist on throwing themselves under the hammer!" Sinuoli muttered a few words that Agelimu didn't understand and strolled toward the lower levels of the fortress.
"You came really fast, Boss. I swear by the Ancestor Gods, this intelligence will definitely not disappoint you."
Ahetanmu's aura of superiority had increased significantly since they last met, but right now it seemed somewhat exhausted. One had to know that making an Ogre, a War Machine, exhausted was a very difficult thing.
"I am very satisfied with your dedication! Tell me about it; you know how generous I am."
"Remember Fearless Fort? After we wiped out the Gnoblars together, a weird, god-obsessed Greenskin showed up! It somehow went to the Dark Lands, found a super-Waaagh! Black Orc, and turned that place upside down!"
"Are you saying... Wurrzag-Wuerzhage-LvXianzhi? What is it doing in the Dark Lands? A Black Orc, a rebellion... don't tell me his name is Grimgor Ironhide?"
"Oh my! Ancestor Gods! Boss, you really are omniscient and omnipotent!"
Ahetanmu was shocked and rolled right off its chair. It had run two Woolly Rhinoceroses to death to make it back to Slayer Keep in time; who would have thought that the Dwarf Demigod before it would be so well-versed in the name of the Black Orc Warboss, something it hadn't told anyone.
"I should have purified those corrupted ones myself, but they beat me to it. Hmph, how exactly did they turn it upside down?"
"Whoa! The scale of it—the two of them claimed to be the gods Gork and Mork. From the Gnoblars to the meanest Black Orcs, they all rebelled at once! The Hell Forge beneath the Tower of Zharr was almost overturned, and those bastards in the Bone Plateau and the Cursed Wasteland were slaughtered to the last one!"
Ahetanmu got excited as it spoke, shaking its big belly and dancing about. Sinuoli stroked his beard and gloated; the Chaos Dwarfs really dared to think of using Greenskins as slaves!
