Chapter 490: Lizardmen Heroes
The ley line architecture of Gaoyuanbao was originally designed with a high level of secrecy. Years ago, after Sinuoli borrowed power to collapse a mountain peak to intimidate his brother-in-law, Prince Suojiade of Norsca, this place became known as "Fengbaoya," and was expanded into an open plaza for visitors to catch a glimpse of a Demigod's might.
A highly elite legion was assembled on the plaza—the enemy in the conquest of Eight Peaks was Goblins and rats, so for military force, "quantity" was the top priority. But now, one needed to search carefully to find a "Little Beard" with entirely black hair and beard among the Dwarf ranks.
"Boom!"
After the final inspection of personnel and ordnance, the time agreed upon with the Slann arrived. Milky-white energy gushed out from the ley line stones, rapidly covering the entire plaza. Even though they tried their best to suppress it, gasps rose one after another; for the vast majority of warriors, this was their first time experiencing ultra-long-distance teleportation.
"Warm-blooded ones, you may camp and rest here. As agreed, stepping out of this area will result in a warning; refusal to accept it will lead to the end of being beheaded!"
A team of Lizardmen had long been waiting at the teleportation landing point. After dropping this sentence, they delivered supplies. The visitors from the Old World were all full of curiosity about this mysterious rainforest, but the grim sentries and the hidden gazes between the branches made them abandon any thoughts of wandering around.
Aside from the twin moons and the Twin-Tailed Comet, the alignment of the stars in the heavens was also a key parameter for the optimal ritual time; gathering in advance was to leave some room for flexibility. A few days later, Sinuoli received the summons from the Slann.
"Let's go together to see the pointy-ears and the top powerhouses of this world."
With the experience from last time, Sinuoli decided to bring a few attendants to bolster his presence. They boarded the carriage mounted on the back of a massive Stegadon and moved rapidly upward from the base of the pyramid.
"What a grand formation! It seems the suggestion I made back then was only the final straw; the Slann have been brewing the summoning of it back for many years!"
Four second-generation Slann sat high upon the altar, and below them, several Lizardmen heroes of varying heights stood in a row. Each of them possessed an imposing aura, the strongest of which even surpassed Sinuoli.
"Everyone is here, so let us begin the final war council."
Several High Elf figures appeared from the other side of the platform immediately after. Except for Tyrion, who wore a phoenix-winged helmet and Dragon Armor, the others were all new faces. Lord Mazdamundi did not give them time to bicker, urging his mount down the steps.
"The situation is more complex than expected but still under control: the Dark Elf army led by the Cult of Pleasure north of the isthmus has completed its assembly. Ku-Jia, we need you to take the Hand of the Old Ones to suppress them."
Lord Mazdamundi raised a claw to summon a sky-map of the entire Lustria. Chakax, whom Sinuoli had met once when returning to the Southlands from Zhendan, stepped out from the crowd and bowed to accept the order. To deal with the Witch Queen Molasi, who existed in the world before the Chaos invasion, only he would do.
"The Pestilens Clan that polluted the Headhunter's Jungle has received reinforcements; a spawn of the Great Horned Rat has led an elite rat force across the sea. Tehenghuoyin, take your legion back to Chakua; it is needed there."
"Hiss~ This is not what was planned~"
Sinuoli recognized it at a glance: the Seer of the snake god Sotek in the Mortal World. Tehenghuoyin had a short sword shaped like a snake's tongue that flickered with strange light tucked at its waist, while its left hand constantly clutched a sacred plaque recording the prophecy of Sotek's manifestation.
As a variant Red-Crested Skink, it was naturally stronger and better at fighting than an average Skink, but under the infiltration of the snake god's divine power, it was already more ferocious than the average Lizardmen veteran, with the neural spines on its head and neck standing tall like a king cobra.
"As long as your cult participates in the war with full strength, our promise remains valid. After Lord Kroak is resurrected, it will make the final ruling."
Tehenghuoyin did not show much respect to the powerful second generation, because the status of the snake god had not been widely recognized by the Slann. Fanatical believers even claimed that if they had been willing to cooperate, Sotek would have already descended and completely wiped out the rat plague.
"Fine, I'll trust you one more time."
Chakua was the base of the Sotek cult, and it was there that Tehenghuoyin raised the banner of sacrificing to the snake god and resisting the Skaven tide. Since the Slann took the initiative to propose it, it went along with the flow.
"These two are no ordinary generals; they count as theater commanders. Is it really controllable to pull away their strength?"
Watching them disappear into the teleportation light, Sinuoli thought to himself. To be honest, he was not particularly clear about the troop distribution of the Lizardmen, or rather, the Lustria Lizardmen. How many men did these two legends each bring?
"Chakax will lead our Stargazing Chamber guards to form the final line of defense on the pyramid steps. I hope they do not need to join the battle."
Master Mazida decided to start with the simplest and most clear-cut task. The tallest one among the row of heroes moved forward slightly, lifting the ancient and massive war club in its claw to signal.
Although it wore many pendants signifying its status and a giant Skull helmet on its head that exuded an aura of primordial times, Chakax's movements carried a sense of "the greatest sound is silence."
In fact, it was accustomed to remaining silent for centuries at a time to create the best conditions for Meditation for the Slann it guarded. Following the call of High Priest Adoxi, it also arrived at Itza to join the grand army.
"Next, the air. Compared to climbing the pyramid after passing through the star bridge, the Chaos Demon Army might want to land directly on the platform. Tiketatuo of the Eye of Heaven in Hexoatl will lead its legion to intercept; if there is spare capacity, it will also support the ground troops. By the way, the feathered serpents of the Tehol-Pok temple will also join your team."
"Thank you for your praise, great second generation. Serving for the resurrection of Lord Kroak is my honor and duty!"
The shortest among the heroes, the Skink leader wearing a gorgeous golden mask, stepped out in response. It was cultivated by Master Mazida, and compared to the independent snake god Seer, it showed absolute obedience.
"You also brought an air force; do you want to hand it over to Tiketatuo for unified command?"
Master Mazida spoke for its own direct subordinate, and Sinuoli looked at Tyrion opposite. The High Elves' air force had huge potential; Teclis had traded the Silver Dragon Horn of Caledor from his hands—could it be that he had Dragons to assist?
"The air power of the Sons of the Mountains consists of Helicopters; their principles and tactics are very different from those of the Pterodactyls. I will order the commander to fully cooperate with the tactics of Lord Tiketatuo."
"Same here!"
Perhaps knowing that his weight was insufficient, Tyrion rarely lowered his head. Sinuoli's words were reasonable and well-founded, and Master Mazida did not press hard, ending it there. Being a Skink limited Tiketatuo's strength; it relied more on exquisite riding skills and tactics.
"For the ground troops, Gor-Rok will command the Saurus and Skinks, and the rest will belong to Nakai. They will hold the bridgehead and stand at the front of the battlefield; you will cover the two flanks respectively."
