Chapter 560: Postscript on Completion
Postscript on Completion
Dear readers, this book concludes in the form of two major postscript chapters for three reasons:
First is my personal skill level; as a new author, I am not adept at handling descriptions of large-scale warfare and feared I could not control the plot of the Northern Expedition. Furthermore, as an old bachelor lacking romantic experience, I cannot grasp emotional arcs well.
Second is the original concept; the main plotline was to resolve the Chaos threat before the arrival of the End Times. The hastily selected Everchosen had an unstable foundation; writing them too weak would be poor, but writing them too strong would render the planning futile. Leaving some things unsaid is more appropriate.
Third is my work situation; I am now devoted to the aviation industry, and the tasks are indeed quite heavy. With overtime and business trips, I still have to spend time studying and reviewing materials after work, making updates slow and unsatisfying, which is truly not ideal.
The inspiration for writing this story came from Warcraft and Lord of the Rings; Muradin, Emperor Thaurissan, Gimli, Thorin Oakenshield, and others are all impressive characters.
There are also Dwarfs in Warhammer, such as Thorgrim, Belegar, Gotrek, and so on. So why couldn't I let this race be the protagonist for once, instead of being trapped in tragedy?
It happened to be the summer vacation between my junior and senior years of college, I had scored enough on my IELTS in one go, and the pandemic still prevented me from fully utilizing my leisure time. One afternoon before school started, I began this story with three chapters I had saved up.
Warhammer Dwarf has walked with me from August of '21 until now, accompanying me through the long nights of my graduate studies in the UK and the first two years of my career struggles. This is the most colorful stroke in my colorful youth.
At the very end, I sincerely thank all the readers. Writing 1.15 million words, double my original outline, was possible only because of the support and love of you, my readers.
