Chapter 62: Bulimu-Buluokesen

~7 min read 1,270 words

Even deep within the Engineer Guild hall, with the roar of several production lines outside interfering, the impact of this loud noise was still immense.

"What happened!?" The Dwarfs could not help but look at each other.

"Respected Chosen of the Goddess, I am afraid I must excuse myself; this commotion is something only members of our guild could cause."

Buluoke spoke, an anxious expression appearing on his face.

"Here, this is the most important workshop of the guild; by the rules, you cannot stay here without my accompaniment, and this is also for the sake of your safety..." Gritting his teeth, Buluoke still said it.

"No problem, the tour was about finished anyway." Before he could finish, Sinuoli spoke tactfully. "Your urgent business comes first; let us go out and take a look together!"

Buluoke was very grateful for Sinuoli's understanding; the two Dwarfs ran all the way out of the secret chamber, and just as they reached the second hall, a Dwarf with a dusty face and crooked glasses ran over.

"Guild Master Buluoke, I finally found you!" The running Dwarf Engineer wiped the sweat from his head.

"What happened that is so urgent! Under the gaze of the Ancestor Goddess, every child should maintain respect!" Buluoke spoke, and it was clear he was somewhat dissatisfied with this interruption.

The Dwarf opposite him froze for a moment: "It's your son Buluokesen! He doesn't know where he got some rat magic stones and tinkered together some dimensional fire what-have-you!"

"Mogelimu above!" Buluoke shouted, "And then? Did it cause an explosion? Is he alright?" Buluoke's reaction was like that of every anxious father.

"Listen to me, Guild Master," the Dwarf took a beer handed over by a colleague nearby, drank a mouthful, and caught his breath.

"He himself shouldn't have suffered any major injuries, thanks to the protection of his Steam Powered Armor!"

"What about the other clansmen?" Guild Master Buluoke continued to ask.

"Buluokesen's laboratory is in a relatively remote location, so not many clansmen were affected. They should have just been shaken by the explosion."

"That's nothing major, just pay the compensation to the affected colleagues from my account! This kid, he never lets one worry less!" Guild Master Buluoke breathed a sigh of relief.

"My son, Bulimu-Buluokesen, he is the most talented engineer in Zhufuba in recent years! His age is about the same as yours, and he is currently preparing for the Engineering Master assessment! If everything goes smoothly, he will become the youngest Engineering Master in the Mountain Kingdom!"

Guild Master Buluoke's face carried overflowing smugness; it was clear he was very proud of his son.

"That is truly remarkable! If it weren't for the favor of the Mother Goddess, it would have been very difficult for me to become a Master-class Professional ahead of him." Sinuoli went with the flow and offered a couple of compliments.

"Although Bulimu is still a Dwarf who is growing his beard, he has already shown all the characteristics of a skilled inventor; while his peers are still learning basic principles, he has already produced quite a few valuable inventions!" Guild Master Buluoke continued.

"He will definitely be able to inherit our family's glorious tradition; later I will call him over to listen to your teachings!"

"Guild Master, don't talk about these things for now!" Watching Buluoke boast more and more happily, the Dwarf Engineer before him grew anxious.

"The guild elders have caught him, and they are currently about to judge him! You should hurry over and take a look!"

"What!? Judgment? Why? Isn't this the first time he has had an accident?"

"Well... this is the first time he has caused such a big accident, but there were several smaller ones before, all of which were covered up by him and your wife, so they didn't reach your ears!"

"Rat-spawned! This is indulgence! This will only harm him!" Buluoke's face twisted, "Where? Quickly take me there!"

"At the plaza in the center of the fortress! Let's go this way!" The engineer gave directions upon hearing this.

Watching Guild Master Buluoke rush toward his vehicle, the engineer grew anxious again:

"Don't drive! The road is blocked, there are too many clansmen going to watch the excitement! It took me a great deal of effort to squeeze out when I came."

"I will go along too! Perhaps I can be of some help!" At this moment, Sinuoli spoke.

Originally, if Buluoke were driving, he was not planning to go because that steam car only had two seats, but now it would not hurt for him to go.

Sinuoli was still very interested in Buluoke and his brilliant son; he knew the importance of engineering technology to future development, and at the same time, he hoped to take this opportunity to continue expanding his own influence and reputation.

The three Dwarfs ran out of the Engineer Guild in a flash; Buluoke was extremely anxious, so he activated a Steam Propulsion Device on his boots to go ahead first, while the later Dwarf Engineer led Sinuoli toward the plaza.

They ran halfway around the mountainside, and from afar, Sinuoli saw the plaza crowded with dense masses of clansmen; under the statues of the three main gods in the center, Guild Master Buluoke was shouting at the top of his lungs about something!

"Make way for the respected Chosen of the Goddess! Pardon me, pardon me!" The Dwarf Engineer shouted, trying to clear a path for Sinuoli.

The clansmen, who had long heard of Sinuoli's name, were quite cooperative, and he successfully arrived below the platform.

On one side of the platform stood five Dwarfs with white beards reaching past their knees, and standing opposite them was Guild Master Buluoke, who was shielding a young Dwarf being held by two guards behind him.

Sinuoli examined the young man whose black beard had just grown to his chest; he wore a cleverly designed helmet on his head, and beside him lay a Double-barreled Rifle that looked to be of a large caliber. A face with a few similarities to Guild Master Buluoke carried an expression of remorse and fear.

"This is already the fourth time he has caused an experimental accident! The Ancestor Gods teach well: three strikes and you're out!" The Dwarf Elder standing in the middle spoke.

"According to the rules of our Engineer Guild, we should execute the Trousers Ritual on Bulimu-Buluokesen and then expel him from the guild!" another old Dwarf said.

As soon as the words fell, many clansmen under the platform followed suit and shouted "Trousers Ritual!", "Trousers Ritual!".

Some of them were at odds with Guild Master Buluoke, while others were dissatisfied with Bulimu, this gifted but unconventional young man.

"Bulimu is still young, he is not..." Guild Master Buluoke wanted to make excuses for his son.

"As the Guild Master, do you intend to break the rules and shield your own son?"

This sentence not only pushed back Buluoke's subsequent remarks but also triggered a wider resonance among the clansmen below.

One must know that invention is not like Rune Power, which cannot be transferred; many Dwarfs suspected that Bulimu's inventions were obtained with his father's help.

"I will bear the consequences of my own actions! Whatever the punishment is, I will accept it all!" Bulimu, who was being held, could not help but shout out when he saw his father being put on the spot.
