Chapter 110: Ninglu's Warp Imagery, Shaking the Minds of the Thousand Sons
Ninglu noticed the grey spheres, which looked like strange fruits.
Some showed signs of activity inside, as if something was lazily writhing; those were the Yuejia'er cubs.
Just after he examined the egg-trees, he immediately sensed several massive Xenos rushing in this direction.
A low rumbling spread through the sand beneath his feet, a sound like snapping bones rang out, the surrounding trees began to sway and bend, and the leaves at the top began to flutter and fall.
Five Titan-sized behemoths passed through the egg-trees and lunged at Ninglu.
An ordinary adult Yuejia'er is only slightly taller than a Primarch, but a Yuejia'er Enhancer is ten times their size.
His appearance was very similar to the basic form of a Yuejia'er, only magnified more than ten times; their height reached the canopy, as if they were a combination of scales, flesh, and metal.
The bodies of the Yuejia'er Enhancers were distinctly different; the original forms within the glass spheres on their bodies had completely vanished.
They had no arms; what writhed were strips of grey steel tentacles growing out from various armpits on their upper bodies.
Some tentacles coiled and clung to the Yuejia'er Enhancer's chest, while others lashed out like protruding vipers...
One hundred and thirty-two members of the Honor Guard, selected from twelve Chapters, raised their bolters.
A storm of bullets covered the Yuejia'er Enhancers, and oil splattered everywhere.
The Yuejia'er Enhancers possessed vitality matching their massive bodies; they did not fall.
Their metal tentacles struck out violently, their sharp tips tearing through the turf and roots, cutting gullies into the ground.
One Honor Guard member was sent flying, tumbling and crashing against the trunk of an egg-tree.
"Big guys, have some bolter rounds."
Ninglu flipped the selector switch on his bolter, setting it to full-auto.
He let out a shout, raised his Silver Gauntlet, and his Spirituality was consumed rapidly.
The effect of the Spirituality consumption was obvious; the bolter rounds, imbued with "Bribe·Weakening," pierced the Yuejia'er Enhancers' metal bodies like sharp knives slicing through straw.
The Primarch poured out bolter fire at a speed far exceeding his progeny.
His superhuman control allowed every single bolter round to strike precisely at the joints of the Yuejia'er Enhancers.
Although the Xenos' metal bodies had a stature rivaling a Titan, they lacked Void Shields, and their metal frames could not be compared to the God-Machines.
The Yuejia'er Enhancers' steel tentacles snapped one by one, and their metal joints were torn apart by the explosions.
The Primarch completed his aiming and firing almost in an instant, swift and powerful, containing an ultimate aesthetic of slaughter.
Even amidst the flying flames of war, the Honor Guard members could feel the heroic posture of the Primarch fighting with such effortless, skilled grace.
Boom—
Accompanied by a loud crash, the five Titan-sized Yuejia'er Enhancers were beaten into a puddle of scattered metal parts.
Stunned for several seconds, the Order Shadows of the Honor Guard finally snapped out of the "slaughter movie" filmed by the Gene-Father himself; their superhuman memories carved that scene into their minds, to be revisited and savored later.
Just as they were intoxicated by the beautiful sight they had witnessed amidst the flying metal debris, the entire forest began to shake.
The pools of liquid splashed by the dying Yuejia'er Enhancers were quickly absorbed by the tree roots, and strange noises filled the "forest."
The Honor Guard members keenly sensed that the air had changed without warning.
The air became greasy and slick, their skin felt a sudden itch, mixed with the intense smell of ozone.
Several of the Order Shadows spoke simultaneously into the squad communication channel: "Psykers."
This word triggered a storm, and all the yellow Yuejia'er eggs began to shake, colliding violently in the air.
Two or three eggs crashed together, a sound like eggshells cracking rang out, and the Yuejia'er cubs twisted and merged together.
Countless conjoined twins suddenly appeared in the air; they were aberrations of two or three Xenos.
Their heads were extremely large, with swollen skulls containing four or six different chambers, completely different from the typical egg-shaped heads of the Yuejia'er.
Their legs and arms twitched, and their milky-white eyes rolled and narrowed, looking at the Honor Guard members.
The voices of the aberrations echoed in the hearts of every Order Shadow: "Astartes, you are so confident in your justice, yet so afraid of the cracks in your own spirits."
"The end is coming! We have seen tomorrow. You should as well. All your worship will wither, and all things will..."
Just then, the Primarch's eyes flashed.
【You are merely the main ingredients for a Potion!】
As his thought moved, light and shadow emerged in his eyes; this was his Yajian Yixiang.
It was his perception of the Warp, the scene that would flash when he used his psychic powers.
By mastering his own Yajian Yixiang, one could better utilize the immense power of the Sea of Souls.
Although in his past life he had occasionally complained that the Warp was nothing but a cesspit, he was a person with a normal brain and would not feed himself shit when using psychic powers.
Setting aside those complaints, his perception of the Warp was closer to that of Iskandaer·Kayang, who cultivated both physical and magical arts and held the script of a Dragon-Slayer protagonist.
Kayang's perception of the Warp was: "The Hun-dun Lingyu will satisfy you unconditionally, though the method might be slightly different from what you imagine."
What weak-minded mortals see are illusions that make them indulge in the false and fatal; for powerhouses like Horus and Abaddon, it is the power personally bestowed by the Four Ruinous Powers.
Quite ironically, if your plan fails—which is almost inevitable—the Warp will mercilessly mock you and give you an apt nickname, such as "Corpse Throne."
Similarly, demons also possess duality; they are not always twisted and evil, insidious and fickle.
The first possessed Warrior, Ageer·Ta, and the demon Lamu who possessed him, could be called true bosom brothers.
The "Guardian Spirits" that the Thousand Sons are about to master and summon are not all Tzeentch's schemes; some are loyal to their masters until death, even when the pyramids are shattered and they are bathed in the blood rain of the Wizard-Star Magnus's remorse, they have not changed.
The duality of the Warp is just like how Order has both light and shadow sides.
Ninglu's light and shadow rotated, intertwined, and twisted together, stirring up a Lingnengfengbao that reached the sky.
The entire "forest," the entire cylindrical world, all life sensed the immense power.
Inside the incubation chamber, the minds of all the Yuejia'er Cub Aberrations facing the psychic impact were instantly destroyed, followed by Death.
Their corpses fell from the air like drifting willow catkins.
At the same moment, on the Yuejia'er Shijiejian, every keen-sensed Order Shadow perceived the immense power, and they also sensed that the soul-shaking aftershocks came from the Gene-Father himself.
The Thousand Sons, sensitive to psychic energy, also felt the immense Lingnengfengbao at this instant.
Apophis was using psychic power to connect the minds of ninety-nine Thousand Sons into a single whole.
Ahriman foresaw the attack of the Yuejia'er, Apophis unified and coordinated to complete real-time information sharing, and Ormuzd unleashed psychic lightning to tear the Xenos apart.
The Force Field blocked the incoming electric arcs, and flames incinerated the metallic bodies of the Yuejia'er.
The efficient slaughter by the Thousand Sons came to an involuntary halt the moment they perceived the Lingnengfengbao.
Within the psychic link, Ormuzd sent a Mind Pulse, filled with awe and excitement.
"Such powerful strength, has one of our battle-brothers awakened?"
Ahriman's eyes flickered, denying his twin brother's thought.
"I saw in the waves, a colossal figure, one that makes it impossible to look directly at him."
"I think that is not our brother, but something originating from a Primarch."
"Moreover, even Apophis could not cause such a powerful Lingnengfengbao."
Apophis calmly admitted, "It is impossible for me to possess such powerful psychic strength; it should be the Primarch of the Eleventh Legion."
"I think only our Gene-Father would possess strength powerful enough to rival it."
While the Thousand Sons marveled at the psychic might of the Primarch, Ninglu withdrew his power, and the light and shadow in his eyes gradually faded.
He opened his communicator and sent a message to Malena Skala.
"Set aside your work for now; there are mysteries on the Xenos warship worth studying."
The biochemical technology of the Yuejia'er will have great reference value for the subsequent Tier 6 "Biologist" and Tier 4 "Life Alchemist" of the "Physician".
A moment later, Malena's magnetic voice sounded.
"My lord, I shall go at once."
Ninglu hung up the communication and issued an order to the Honor Guard.
"Establish a Jingjie perimeter at the incubation chamber; without my order, no one is allowed to approach."
He began to harvest the spoils of war.
