Chapter 124: The Primarch's Superhuman Speed

~8 min read 1,452 words

"Very well."

Ninglu accepted Campbell's challenge immediately; he knew that to completely conquer this Knight World, demonstrating personal strength was also necessary.

"Shall we begin now?"

The Knight King said urgently; he wanted to use a victory to overcome the Nightmare left in his heart by the eerie scene from just moments ago.

On the training ground, the Knight Mech and Ninglu were one kilometer apart; on one side stood the knights, their attendants, and the Relic Maintainers, and on the other stood Bukayo, Gabriel, and other Junluanzhanshi, along with Arsena.

Campbell, inside the Daxuos Glory, asked with some uncertainty.

"I crave a battle where I can give my all, but I am not sure if I can do so."

As he spoke, he raised his right arm, and the Multi-barrel Machine Cannon roared and spun.

The Knight King did not want to bring destruction upon Daxos for the sake of a moment's gratification.

If he were to accidentally kill Ninglu, he had no doubt that those Black Armor Legion Junluanzhanshi who regarded him as a father would turn this world into ruins.

"It is of no concern."

"Use your full strength."

【This is the only way it will be interesting.】

A clamor of voices echoed in Campbell's ears; the heroic spirits were likewise feeling frustrated and bewildered by the previous failure.

"Campbell, since he said so, do not have any reservations; hit him with the intent to kill!"

"That's right, the knights of Vix Trix can die in battle, but they will not lose their honor due to cowardice."

The Knight King cast aside his concerns and shouted with high fighting spirit.

"Then our duel begins."

The knights watched the training ground nervously; they were all secretly praying to the Omnissiah for the Knight King.

【Great Omnissiah, I pray you cast your gaze upon Daxos, I pray you grant strength so the Knight King may win the victory.】

Seeing Ninglu nod, Campbell immediately activated the Multi-barrel Machine Cannon that had already locked onto the target, and the four barrels accelerated their rotation.

The Multi-barrel Machine Cannon emitted a piercing, deafening shriek, and shells burst forth like a torrent, a dense rain of bullets firing toward where the Primarch stood.

Ninglu moved.

The Primarch charged into the rain of bullets; a giant as tall as him would usually be slow and clumsy, but his genes possessed no such defects; he was perfectly designed, and he ran like a hurricane.

He was like black lightning, weaving through the rain of bullets, even faster than the rain of bullets that the machine cannon was roaring in anger.

Campbell discovered that the automatic targeting system of the Daxuos Glory was completely unable to lock onto Ninglu.

Beep, beep, beep...

A piercing alarm resounded through the cockpit.

The Knight King did not give up; he activated the manual targeting system, his right arm moving at high frequency and speed, firing at where the black lightning was expected to appear.

Rat-tat-tat...

The shells struck the black lightning, then passed right through.

What he had hit was merely an afterimage of the Primarch.

Boom, boom, boom...

The shells smashed into the ground, smoke and dust filling the air.

Campbell knew he had not hit his opponent; that superhuman speed and agility were difficult to comprehend.

【Is this what a Primarch is?】

The Knight King thought in Fear; he discovered he could no longer capture the trajectory of Ninglu's movement at all.

He scanned the panel nervously and found that the Auspex and other automatic scanning systems, even at maximum power, could not capture a single trace.

【Pull yourself together, he is coming, quickly activate your gauntlet.】

【You must rely on your combat instinct to overcome him, defeat him, with your fists.】

Campbell accepted the advice of the ancestral heroic spirits; since the machine cannon could not deal a blow to his opponent, he could only rely on his Iron Fist and his battle instincts honed over thousands of trials.

The power system activated the Thunder Gauntlet on his left arm, the blue energy field flickering with dazzling light.

The Knight King's mind calmed down; he sensed the changes around him, searching for a powerful aura.

Suddenly, he felt an aura like a giant beast rushing straight toward his chest.

Campbell let his combat instinct drive his body, guiding the power system to move the gauntlet.

The blue energy field tore through the sky and smashed toward his front.

Ninglu, who had leaped into the air, sensed the gauntlet attacking him and could not help but feel Shock.

This Knight King truly had some ability, to actually be able to capture his figure while he was sprinting at full speed.

But that was all.

The Primarch defied the laws of physics, forcibly twisting his body in mid-air and leaping toward the cockpit of the Knight Mech.

The next instant, he was already in front of the Knight Mech.

Golden light shone as he slammed a fist into the cockpit.

Boom!

Accompanied by a loud crash, the cockpit wall was torn to shreds.

With the force unabated, the Daxuos Glory swayed, unable to maintain Balance, and crashed heavily onto the ground.

This loud crash also struck the hearts of all the knights; their Knight King, the most powerful knight, Campbell Vix Trix, had been knocked down.

The Relic Maintainer was the first to react from the Shock, running to the front of the Daxuos Glory to rescue Campbell from the Mechanical Throne.

The Knight King's green knight suit was tattered and charred black, his face ashen.

Campbell stubbornly shook off Suo'er's support; he straightened his clothes and stepped toward the Primarch.

The Knight King knelt on one knee, pressed his right hand to his chest, and lowered his head as he spoke.

"Lord Ninglu, I, Campbell Vix Trix, pledge my loyalty to you."

The Knight Code and noble honor made it impossible for him to break his promise, and at the same time, Campbell was struck by Shock at Ninglu's terrifying combat power.

His extreme speed left the Knight King almost unable to react; he had knocked down the Daxuos Glory with a single blow.

Perhaps, only a God-Machine could contend with a Primarch.

The other knights also recovered from their Shock, opened their cockpits, descended to the ground, and knelt one after another behind the Knight King.

"We pledge our loyalty to Lord Ninglu; whatever you command, we shall fulfill."

The Imperial Scribes accompanying the army recorded the official account of this event as follows:

"9334814. M30, Ninglu, Primarch of the Eleventh Legion, discovered the first Knight World in the Daxos Binary System, located within the Daxos Binary System."

"Warriors of the Eleventh Legion crushed the beast tide plaguing the local area, rescuing the populace from fire and water."

"The Primarch and his progeny were victorious in all three honor duels proposed by the world's ruler, Knight King Campbell Vix Trix, winning the allegiance of the first Knight World for the Imperium."

After Ninglu conquered the Daxos Binary System, he ordered Gabriel to assist the relic maintainers in repairing the Knight Mechs.

Subsequently, he ordered the Star Whisper Master to send this good news to the Emperor's flagship, the Bucephalus.

On the other hand, he ordered his subordinates to record the subsequent series of itineraries for propaganda, including the formal oath-taking ceremony of Daxos and the Primarch's interviews with the various Patriarchs of the noble houses.

Naturally, this included scenes of the knights standing in neat formation, as well as the wheat fields and natural scenery of Daxos.

These were all propaganda materials showcasing the achievements of the Great Crusade; when Terrans saw them, they would feel pride from the bottom of their hearts and support the continuation of the Great Crusade.

This was also what the Emperor and Malcador needed; they would use similar political propaganda methods during the celebrations of every Primarch's return to Terra.

Without receiving a reply from the Emperor, Ninglu instead received a report from Howard Fender.

He sat on the Command Throne, listening to the briefing from his Primarch Attendant.

"The Lord of the First Chapter reports that he has successfully conquered the Telano and Bulaina systems as you commanded."

"At the same time, he also reports having discovered traces of Eldar activity in these two systems."

"The Lord has also successfully captured a squad of Eldar and is currently interrogating them, but as of now, there have been no results."

After pondering for a moment, Ninglu decided to go and understand the situation.

At the same time, he would reinforce the First Chapter and make Howard a Sequence 7 "Inquisitor."

Ninglu then issued the order: "Depart for the Bulaina system."
