Chapter 141: Gloriana-class Battleship
On the Void Hunter, Ninglu, together with Arsena Dunn and Diana Polin, stood before the observation window, looking at the behemoth drawing ever closer in the distance.
Every warship in the Mars shipyards and Xinggang paled in comparison to it; it was more powerful and fearsome than any other vessel.
"Truly a perfect creation; it is perfect, possessing destructive power."
Diana's blue-green eyes were fixed on the giant ship in the void, her gaze brimming with brilliance as she said excitedly.
"It is like a void whale surfacing from the water, and also like a heavy black halberd."
In accordance with the request Ninglu relayed to Mars through Rosicky, the entire Gloriana-class Battleship was painted black.
Its spine was covered in over a thousand hill-like defensive towers and engine shrouds, and its belly shimmered with the radiance of world-ending weapons.
It possessed a massive, pear-shaped ram, and the outer edges of its city-sized engine banks.
The Gloriana-class Battleship is one of the most powerful warships built by the Imperium; its hull is protected by multiple layers of Void Shields, and the armor on its surface is also extremely thick, capable of withstanding fierce artillery fire while retaining its combat effectiveness.
Within the Space Marine Legions, the Gloriana-class Battleship typically plays the dual role of fleet flagship and Primarch's personal vessel.
The moment Diana thought about how she was about to pilot this powerful warship across the star seas, serving as the Commander of the 33rd Expeditionary Fleet flagship and working for the Primarch, she felt endless honor.
This was even more stirring than when she purged Xenos pirates or received commendations for her merits.
A moment later, the Void Hunter docked at Xinggang.
Ninglu stepped off the deck and immediately saw the Mars Sage in red robes waiting to welcome him, with Rosicky Cech, whom he had not seen for a long time, standing beside him.
The Techmarine wore black power armor, and the mark of Mars was branded on his shoulders.
The Sage in red robes came before Ninglu, and a hoarse voice sounded from his Sound Array Synthesizer.
"Requesting an exchange of information regarding the Eleventh Legion's delivery obligations."
"Granted."
Rosicky's left eye had been replaced with a mechanical bionic eye; he exchanged a look with the Mars Sage, then they both emitted a series of high-frequency binary signals, after which they both lowered their heads in satisfaction.
"Primarch, your warship has been completed. At the current time, Mars can deliver the stipulated //construction// responsibilities to you. Confirm whether you accept //receiving the warship."
"Delivery granted."
Ninglu spoke, and Rosicky once again performed a binary authentication with the Sage.
A moment later, after the Sage bowed to Ninglu to signal his intent, he took his leave.
Rosicky walked up to Ninglu, "Father, I have completed my journey of study on Mars."
"From this day forth, you are the Forge Master of the Legion, commanding all Techmarines."
"Father, I will surely give my all and not let you down."
"Let's go, let's go see my flagship."
Rosicky spoke, "Father, please follow me."
He then led the way in front and began to introduce it.
"This Gloriana-class Battleship is 28.11 kilometers long, with a mass of 170.33 megatons."
Ninglu nodded slightly; Robert Guilliman's Macragge's Honour was 26 kilometers long, and his own flagship was 28 kilometers, which was considered relatively large even among the Primarchs.
"The required crew is approximately 309,100 people, with flight crew and logistics personnel numbering about 103,000."
Ninglu nodded slightly and asked the female Commander to his side and rear.
"Diana, are you ready?"
Excitement flickered in the female Commander's blue-green eyes as she said confidently.
"My Lord, I am ready."
Ninglu followed Rosicky into the Gloriana-class Battleship, heading toward the command Bridge.
They ascended by elevator, and within their line of sight, layer upon layer of decks climbed in sequence along the curved inner walls, with black metal pillars supporting the entire vaulted structure.
After stepping out of the elevator, what came into view was a bulletproof glass ceiling of astonishing scale.
In the core area of the Bridge, holographic projections flickered on five strategic tables, displaying scenes of the Mars berths and the interior of the Solar System respectively.
The Lumen Lamps overhead rotated slowly, illuminating the countless monitors and lenses all around.
"Father, please take your seat."
Rosicky stepped aside and said to Ninglu.
Ninglu walked toward the black alloy throne prepared for him; after the Primarch sat down, Diana spoke.
"My Lord Primarch, you should name this ship."
"Shadow of Sovereignty."
After Diana pondered for a moment, she immediately understood the implication.
"The name you have chosen for this ship is most fitting; you are the monarch of Vostonia, and your Legion is named 'Order Shadow'."
Ever since she was chosen to be the captain of the flagship, Diana had used this time to collect and read everything she could find about the Primarch and the Eleventh Legion.
Ninglu landed on Vostonia, unified his home world and became its monarch, and he renamed the "Reaper" to "Order Shadow".
Diana immediately understood the deep meaning in Ninglu's naming, and she praised him.
"Shadow of Sovereignty, a match for your flagship."
"Since the captain also feels it is appropriate, then begin fulfilling your duties."
"As you wish."
Diana bowed to accept the order, then walked toward her workstation in black high-heeled boots, her steps lighter than usual.
The captain picked up the communicator and skillfully found the ship's command channel.
"Everyone, I am the first captain of this Gloriana-class Battleship, just named Shadow of Sovereignty by the Primarch."
"I am very happy to be working with all of you from now on."
"Please have your briefings ready; in three hours, I will be hearing your reports in the conference hall."
Seeing Diana acting with such efficiency as she began to take over the Shadow of Sovereignty, Ninglu said to Rosicky.
"Take me to the palace."
"Father, please follow me."
Boarding the lift, Ninglu headed toward his palace.
After stepping out of the lift, what appeared before the Primarch was a gallery bridge.
The interior of the gallery bridge was magnificently decorated with soaring vaulted ceilings, resembling the nave of a cathedral, solemn and majestic.
Ninglu stopped his footsteps and spoke to the members of the Honor Guard.
"From now on, this place shall be your responsibility."
The Honor Guard all puffed out their chests and replied in unison.
"As you command, Father."
Ninglu then said to Luoxiji: "You wait outside for now; in five minutes, you may enter."
A moment later, Rosicky Cech, who had been promoted to "Archaeologist," bowed and said.
"Father, I will certainly give my all to fulfill the duties of the Master of the Forge and the 'Archaeologist'."
Three days later, Hollis of the 1st Chapter and Bradshaw of the 11th Chapter were ordered to head to the moon.
The plans submitted by the two Order Shadows had already been approved by Ninglu, and they would be responsible for training the Terra-born recruits of the Eleventh Legion.
Horus had not sent any of his progeny to the moon to train recruits; Ninglu was the first, which naturally drew widespread attention.
Just as the "Selena Gene Cult" and numerous other factions cast their gazes toward the two Order Shadows, fifty members of a treasure-hunting team seized the opportunity to sneak onto the moon.
Two months later, the six ordered Chapters arrived in the Solar System.
The Primarch convened a meeting to discuss the plan to conquer the Spider Alliance.
