Chapter 155: Sam Shrine
Ninglu perceived the Rangers' thoughts and decided to capture them alive; he took a deep breath and suddenly opened his mouth.
The Primarch emitted a long "Mind Scream," and the Lingnengfengbao swept across the many Sam-Han Eldar Rangers.
Thump, thump...
The Rangers fell from their Jetbikes one after another, crashing onto the ground.
Only a few of the most seasoned Eldar Rangers, known as Pathfinders, remained; their wills were firm, and they no longer indulged in the hedonism and savagery that led to the Eldar souls being devoured by Slaanesh.
Several Pathfinders swayed, using their hands to brace against their bikes to keep from falling off.
Before they could react, Ninglu had already flashed before the lead Pathfinder.
The "Briber" reached out to grab the Pathfinder and threw them with force at another Eldar Ranger.
Under the enhancement of the "Briber's" throwing ability, the thrown Pathfinder spun rapidly like a windmill, crashing into the other Ranger.
The Pathfinders, whose reactions were swift enough to dodge bullets, were knocked down and fell to the ground before they could even react.
In an instant, all the Pathfinders were defeated.
Ninglu issued an order to the Techmarine in the Honor Guard: "Bring back the Laser Long Rifles, Chameleon Cloaks, and Jetbikes for study."
Ninglu knew that the Laser Long Rifle used by Eldar Rangers was a long-barreled sniper weapon, similar to the long-barreled laser sniper weapons used by the snipers of the Auxilia.
The Psychic Cultivation Crystal it used was not Wraithbone, but a specialized component for laser focusing.
The artificial crystals used in Imperial Laser Technology struggled to maintain a focused beam over long distances, whereas the Psychic Cultivation Crystal could achieve precise beam focusing at much greater ranges.
Most Eldar weapons had a unique psychic link with their users, but the Ranger long rifle was one of the few weapons without such a link.
Compared to other weapons, the Eldar long rifle was easier to crack, though due to its high level of customization, it was difficult for other users to perform long-range, high-precision sniping as the original owners could.
【The "Knowers" should be able to crack the technology of the Eldar Laser Long Rifle; it would be quite good for the Treasure Hunting Squad and the elite snipers in the Auxilia to use.】
【The Crystal Illusion also contains a large amount of Psionic Crystals, which could be used to manufacture human versions; although the cost of customized production is high, they could be supplied to the elites of the Vostonia Auxiliary Army.】
Ninglu knew that the Rangers' Chameleon Cloaks used color-changing paint to achieve a stealth effect.
The cloaks helped the Rangers blend into their surroundings, especially in environments with poor lighting.
【The principles of the Eldar Chameleon Cloak and the Imperial Camouflage Cloak both involve the use of paint, but they are likely not the same; perhaps they can be used for reference to enhance stealth effects.】
【The technical difficulty should lie between the Eldar long rifle and the Jetbike.】
Ninglu knew that, like most Eldar technology, the Jetbike also needed to be coordinated with the Eldar's psychic powers.
Small Mental Induction Crystals were placed in the bike's handlebars and the rider's gauntlets, allowing the rider to control the bike with their own thoughts.
Replicating a Jetbike would take a long time, and even if the replication were successful, training riders would also require a long time.
Even for the Eldar, skillfully piloting a Jetbike was an exciting challenge that required years of training to realize their potential.
Ninglu planned to have some psychics in the Legion equipped with Psychic Crystal Bikes in the future, serving as elite riders to strike at enemies.
The Techmarines immediately organized servants and servitors to pick up the Ranger long rifles, tear the Chameleon Cloaks from the Eldar, and drag the Jetbikes away, sending them all back to the Shadow of Sovereignty to await further study.
As the Techmarines directed the servants to transport the spoils, Ninglu saw Howard board the Craftworld Fragment and spoke to the Inquisitor.
"These Eldar captives are yours; extract the secrets of Sam-Han."
"I will certainly treat these Xenos guests well."
The "Inquisitor" looked at the Eldar captives and waved his hand; the Order Shadow of the First Chapter immediately stepped forward to drag the Eldar captives away.
The Primarch continued forward, searching for spoils on the Craftworld Fragment.
Eldar buildings were different from those of humans; they presented fluid shapes without those rough corners.
Ninglu's gaze swept over these elegant, artistic buildings, and his footsteps did not stop.
The further he went, the closer he got to the area heavily struck by the Lance, and the frame of the Craftworld was revealed before him.
Ninglu's black eyes scanned the surroundings, and after a moment, he saw colorful light flickering in the air; that was the light of Ether Energy.
He followed the colorful light and found the internal hull of the Craftworld exposed by the sweep of the Lance.
The "Briber" leaped down along the fractured rift of the Craftworld, and he immediately saw the shining light of Spirituality.
The light of Spirituality came from the keel of the Craftworld—Wraithbone.
Every Eldar ship had its frame molded from Wraithbone, followed by the internal spaces and the final internal components.
Even the largest Craftworlds were composed of Wraithbone.
Wraithbone was essentially a solidified form of Warp energy, extracted from the Sea of Souls by Bone Singers who followed the Path of the Bone Singer using secret arts to draw out Ether Energy.
Wraithbone could be manipulated into any shape, was sturdier than any known steel, more durable than adamantium, and could even repair itself naturally; the entire process could be accelerated by Bone Singers.
【Wraithbone contains Spirituality and is a Potion Material, and not one I am familiar with.】
【It is most likely a Potion Material for the "Perfecter" path, with a slight possibility for the "Mother" path.】
【However, because the Soul Stones have not yet been discovered by the Craftworld Aeldari, the Infinite Circuit has not yet been built on the Wraithbone network.】
Ninglu narrowed his eyes, thinking that the Soul Stones and the Infinite Circuit were also likely Potion Materials, and he couldn't help but think to himself.
【Perhaps I should wait a while before moving against the Sam-Han Craftworld, until they recover their strength and obtain the Infinite Circuit and Soul Stones.】
【It was discovered by Iyanden in the 33rd millennium; it should be a bit later for it to extend to Sam-Han, the 34th millennium should be about right.】
Ninglu said to the Techmarine who had just arrived at his side: "Excavate the Eldar buildings above and study the Eldar's circulation and maintenance systems."
He pointed to the Wraithbone again, "These are Wraithbone; they must be preserved intact, I will return to collect them."
After the Primarch finished speaking, he climbed up along the rift to continue his search.
Finally, he found a magnificent temple.
The entire building was constructed from Wraithbone material, and most striking was a lifelike "Giant Python" coiled around the building.
The head of the "Giant Python" rested on the roof of the building, looking up at the sky.
The World Serpent, the Cosmic Giant Python, Sam.
One of the deities worshipped by the Eldar.
Ninglu knew that every Eldar Craftworld would have many beliefs, but there would be one deity in the pantheon who was their mainstream faith.
Sam-Han worships Sam, who is revered as the Great Cosmic Serpent.
He stepped into the temple, and in the center of the temple stood a lifelike statue of Sam crafted from Wraithbone.
Ninglu swept his gaze over it and discovered that the light of Spirituality upon it was the same as ordinary Wraithbone, so he did not linger.
All around were numerous small shrines of different forms, each containing a miniature statue of Sam, as large as a normal person's head, each displaying a different aspect of Sam.
【The contained light of Spirituality is even stronger than Wraithbone; it is a higher-level Potion Material.
Sam is the Great Cosmic Serpent, believed to know all the secrets of the past and present.
Sequence 1 of the Wheel of Fortune pathway is the Mercury Snake; this shrine should be a Potion Material for the Wheel of Fortune pathway.】
As Ninglu pondered, he walked to the left side and carefully examined one of the shrines.
【The Spirituality does not reach the level of Sequence 1, and since the Mercury Snake is already near the top of the pathway, it is impossible for there to be so many materials.
It is either a main material for a mid-sequence or an auxiliary material for a high-sequence.】
After Ninglu made his judgment, he spoke to the Order Shadow following him around.
"You all go search the surroundings."
Taking advantage of the time when everyone was away, Ninglu quickly moved all the statues back to the Kingdom of Disorder.
Because he did not know how much Wraithbone was needed for the Potion Material of an unknown sequence, he did not destroy the temple and left it temporarily on the Craftworld Fragment.
Afterwards, Ninglu continued searching, and after finding nothing more, he moved some damaged Wraithbone back to the Kingdom of Disorder.
Before setting off to return to Vostonia, the Primarch called for Howard.
"The Vigilance System shall be left to the First Chapter; besides establishing order, the most urgent task is to search for the sacred template of the Fortress-class Energy Shield."
"Additionally, the local Volian Sandstorm Vortex is extremely dangerous; do not explore it for the time being."
The fleet then set sail, returning to Vostonia.
While the fleet was on its return journey, the Seventh Legion and the Twelfth Legion arrived in the Tanith System and launched an attack on the Thalassian.
