Chapter 25: Yelena's Political Ambitions (Seeking Follow-up Reads)

~7 min read 1,272 words

Ninglu looked up toward the outside of the palace; besides Yelena walking in front, there were six other auras.

These six people had received professional training and were skilled at concealing themselves, making them difficult for ordinary people to discover, but they were exceptionally clear in the perception of a Primarch.

The seven of them soon arrived outside the palace, and Yelena spoke up.

"I will go to have an audience with our King; you wait outside for my summons before having your audience."

The Countess, wearing a long red dress, stepped into the palace and bowed deeply.

"My King."

"Yelena, what business do you have?"

"My King, my audience this time is firstly to express my sincere gratitude to you; you have handed the pharmaceutical industry of the Shimanski Family to the Kurnikova Family, and I will certainly not let you down."

Ninglu leaned back, his gaze scrutinizing Yelena.

"Then I shall wait and see; I hope you can bring me a surprise."

"Anything else?"

"My King, please forgive my bluntness, but your subordinates, while powerful in combat, are limited by their background and environment; at least in the short term, they cannot play much of a role in governing Teziwoke."

Flames burned in Yelena's eyes, and she smiled confidently.

"I believe you should establish a cabinet, and I believe I can play a pivotal role within it."

"Oh?"

Ninglu was noncommittal; he tapped his fingers on the tabletop, making a thumping sound that rang in the Countess's ears like the great bells of the Omnissiah.

After a long three seconds, he pushed the Data Slate forward.

"Bring out your solution."

Yelena restrained her smile, walked to the table, and faced the test earnestly.

Her expression shifted from stern to gradually relaxed.

"My King, I have a way to quickly rebuild the security forces."

"I believe you must want to rebuild the security forces as soon as possible, which requires a capable person to share your burdens, and I happen to have such a person by my side."

"The Kurnikova Family is a family composed of sisters; before my husband, Baron Buksa, joined, he served the Omnissiah and served as an independent arbitrator in the Dome jointly controlled by the Skorupski Family and the Adeptus Mechanicus."

Yelena took out a Data Slate; her standard for choosing a spouse was a capable person from a minor noble family, and she had conducted careful background checks on every candidate, and now was the time to use them.

"Please allow me to show you his file."

The Countess combined the information to provide a detailed introduction, finally concluding.

"During Buksa's tenure, he recruited, organized, and developed his own Arbitration Hall."

"After joining the Kurnikova Family, he also adjusted the family's guard systems; in the fifty-two years since the system was implemented, there has been no loss, including in the Lower Hive factories."

"Send him a message immediately; I want to see his report before the Yekai Shift."

Yelena dared not delay and immediately contacted her husband; after closing the communicator, she continued to wait for Ninglu's instructions.

"Since you claim to have the ability to form a cabinet, state your ideas."

"My King, for thousands of years, because Boleslaw greedily plotted to seize family assets, as well as the indifference and conservative cultural traditions of the Muska people, each family has been developing in isolation."

"Each family's strategy is to guard its own industry and dare not expand; as long as we can deepen cooperation, the integration of Teziwoke's resources can significantly improve efficiency; the cooperation between the Kurnikova Family and the Skorupski Family proves this point."

The Countess recounted the preparations she had made in advance; she clearly had deep thoughts on this.

"First, we should break down communication barriers and hold exchange banquets and other activities."

"After that, we should set an example; the Kurnikova Family and the Finde Family can take the lead in establishing a cooperative relationship."

"After obtaining benefits, we can use actual results to prove to each family that their concepts will change accordingly, and they will not let a great opportunity pass by."

Ninglu asked Yelena questions from time to time, and the Countess answered them one by one.

Two Terra-hours later, Ninglu nodded with satisfaction.

"You shall take the lead in forming the cabinet."

"Thank you for your trust; I will certainly not let you down."

Yelena said excitedly; she had once proposed the same suggestion to the false king Boleslaw, but that greedy pig had not the slightest interest.

Now, she finally had the opportunity to realize her political ambitions, and the Kurnikova Family could also rely on this reform to truly become a pivotal family in Teziwoke, rather than just a young, wealthy family.

Just as her heart was surging, she heard Ninglu ask.

"Are the six people outside the door your people?"

Yelena was stunned for a moment; the six people she brought were elite Assassins she had cultivated from childhood using genetic technology and medicine.

Even if they attacked together, they might not be a match for the giant in front of her, but after their modifications, each of them had a light body, their footsteps were no louder than a precious ear-cat, and their breathing was so faint it was nearly non-existent.

This place was separated from the door by the waiting antechamber for audiences, an attached lounge, and a servant's tea room; when she was speaking just now, the new King should not have been able to hear her.

【If they were to face the new King, their only chance would be to rely on their concealment abilities to launch a sneak attack.

Now that they have been discovered by the new King, they have no chance at all; fortunately, I have no unrealistic ideas.】

The Countess was shocked in her heart; she took a deep breath and once again raised her evaluation of the new King's combat power.

"My King, they are all Assassins I have carefully cultivated."

"They will become the sharp blades in your hands, executing those who are disobedient."

"Let them come in."

Yelena immediately switched communication channels and issued the order.

"Maria, bring them in."

A moment later, six women wearing black tight-fitting suits and carrying different weapons walked in.

They were either carrying a Jiguangchangqiang on their backs, or carrying shields and swords...

The six of them habitually looked at the giant sitting on the chair, who was even taller than them, with the eyes of someone sizing up a prey to be hunted.

Immediately, they met Ninglu's pitch-black, deep eyes, and the six Assassins suddenly felt a chill run down their spines.

Five of them immediately lowered their heads.

Only the blonde woman in the center with the high-bridged nose bit her lips tightly, stubbornly holding her ground.

After scanning the group, Ninglu spoke immediately.

"Depart at once and head to Mazov and Szczecin to carry out the hunt."

"The targets are the Commanders and nobles of the two Hive Cities; you may choose the specific targets yourselves."

"Return to report after twenty-three work cycles."

After Ninglu decided to capture Lukebo, he would then take Mazov and Szczecin, connecting the four Hive Cities into one contiguous territory.

Sending them was both a test of their strength and a way to weaken the enemy.

Yelena was stunned, "My King, you..."

"Teziwoke is only the beginning."

【Mazov and Szczecin are not powerful Hive Cities like Lukebo; their strength is similar to Teziwoke, so with the new King's combat power, they can indeed be taken.】

From the Yekai Shift, Buksa hurried over.
