Chapter 264: A Casual Throw of the Spear of Dionysus (Three Updates, Requesting Tomorrow's Monthly Votes)

~8 min read 1,531 words

On the twenty-third day of Ninglu's arrival on Terra, he received word from Ferrus Manus that the armor being crafted for him was finished.

Ninglu then headed to the courtyard where Manus resided to collect his armor.

Upon stepping into the courtyard, he discovered that the entire area had been converted by Manus into a small-scale forge.

Manus stood before a massive furnace, with several people standing in attendance beside him, among them a Tech-Priest clad in rust-red robes.

As soon as Ninglu stepped into the courtyard, Manus turned his head to look over.

The Tech-Priest turned to look as well, and after identifying Ninglu's status as a Primarch, the sound-array device on his faceplate emitted a mechanical, synthesized voice.

"Unit // Tech-Priest // Malevolus // pays respects to Primarch // King of Vosconia // Lord Ninglu."

Ninglu nodded to Priest Malevolus in greeting: "Malevolus, your forging skills are admirable."

"Forging armor for you // is this unit's honor."

Just as the Tech-Priest's synthesized voice faded, Manus spoke in a voice like pouring lead.

"Malevolus is the Imperium's finest Artisan; he participated in the creation of both my armor and yours."

His silver-coin eyes were profound: "The armor of that First-Returned Son, Horus, was also cast by him."

Ninglu saw that Manus had changed into a new set of armor, and he could already see the shadow of the future Gorgon Armor upon it.

A towering gorget rose behind the neck, with rivet decorations along the silver edges.

His pauldrons bore the emblem of a gauntlet, crafted from a single piece of hand-hammered alloy, and a thick iron-curtain cloak hung from the other shoulder.

The back of the battle-plate was a composite of various tools, though it had not yet been mounted with various inventions or weapons.

"Lord Manus's skills are admirable // this unit has gained much // this unit has received the inspiration of the Machine God // this unit will bring these techniques back to Mars // I believe new armor will be born before long."

Ninglu knew that the prototype for the Imperium's Iron Hands Terminator Armor came from Manus's armor; it was a model developed after Malevolus brought the prototype data back to Mars.

Ninglu then, with the help of the Tech-Priest, donned his armor.

His armor was pitch black, and the greatest difference from Manus's armor was the iron scales of a Kraken attached to it, along with a faint, shadow-like emblem on the chest.

Every surface of the armor was hand-forged, with exquisite workmanship.

Malevolus had participated in its creation, but the innate metallurgical talent of Ferrus Manus was manifested to the extreme in every piece of equipment and every curve of the armor.

Another notable difference was that space had been reserved on the back of the armor for golden wings.

Ninglu tested it, and the wings extended and retracted with ease.

Manus had also followed Ninglu's request, reserving a position on the armor for the Spear of Dionysus.

Because the wings occupied a large amount of space, Ninglu's armor could not hold a large quantity of tools and weapons on the back like Manus's could.

The mounting position for the Spear of Dionysus was adjacent to the right golden wing, protruding from Ninglu's right shoulder.

After Ninglu placed the Spear of Dionysus into it, the lingering sense of discomfort vanished, and he felt his entire being become more comfortable.

Just as Ninglu stepped into the courtyard, layers of illusory voices suddenly rang in his ears.

【It must be Tierni holding a ritual to offer me items.】

Ninglu reached his right hand behind him, gazing into the distance, his sight crossing over ten kilometers.

That was the designated area, though construction had not yet begun; he gripped the Spear of Dionysus and threw it casually.

The Spear of Dionysus whistled as it flew into the air, carving an arc before the spear plummeted to the ground.

Boom—a crack over ten meters wide appeared on the ground as the spear fell into the earth.

"Handy!" Ninglu whispered, not bothering with the Spear of Dionysus; it would return on its own anyway.

Having shed the Spear of Dionysus, Ninglu walked into the villa and arrived at his living quarters.

He flashed into the shadow side of the "Kingdom of Disorder," immediately seeing a phantom gray orb of light constantly contracting and expanding.

Ninglu unfurled his own Spirituality, spreading it toward the gray orb of light.

Upon contact, blurred and distorted images suddenly surfaced in his mind, and illusory, overlapping voices rang out.

"Black Emperor of the Order Shadow,

……

I pray for Your gaze.

I pray for You to accept my offering.

……

'Iron Law of the Monarch,' the foundation of the Disordered Kingdom, please transmit the power to my incantation."

Ninglu saw the items placed upon the Altar; they looked somewhat illusory and blurred.

He knew his Spirituality could not bring so many items into the "Kingdom of Disorder."

Ninglu flashed to the fourth layer of space, condensed a black phantom, and returned to the shadow side to establish a connection with the gray orb of light.

After returning to the fourth layer of space, Ninglu's Spirituality spread toward the location corresponding to Tierni.

His Spirituality condensed into a black door.

Tierni, kneeling on the Altar, saw a black gate suddenly appear before him.

Clang!

Amidst a sound that was half-real and half-illusory, lacking true substance, the gate slowly opened!

Tierni suddenly saw the black gate swing wide, revealing deep Darkness behind it, where the Black Emperor, enthroned in black mist, was looking down at him.

Seeing this scene, Tierni's body trembled involuntarily; it was awe before a majestic power.

Before Tierni could react, a massive suction force suddenly surged from within the gate.

On the altar, one item after another was seized by an invisible, immense force and flew into the black gate.

He dared not raise his head until the majestic voice of the Black Emperor rang in his ears: "Well done."

Before Tierni could react, items flew out from within and landed on the altar.

"Use them well."

"Praise my Lord, thank You for Your bestowal!" Tierni said devoutly, as he watched the black gate vanish and the whirlwind of Spirituality subside.

Ninglu inspected all the offerings Tierni had presented, and he discovered that besides the Altar, there was also a Data Slate.

He opened the Data Slate to examine it and found that it contained information on some of the items.

【Tierni is thoughtful.】

Ninglu noticed that the Spirituality radiance on the grandfather clock from the Kogma Family, which Tierni had highlighted, was the brightest.

【It should be a Sequence 5 level Potion Material.

Hmm, time, it should be the Potion Material for the "Error" pathway Sequence 5 "Dream Thief".】

Ninglu also discovered that the most numerous item was the main material for the "Mystery Pryer" subsequent Sequence 8 "Fighting Scholar"—the prosthetic eyes of the Crimson Walker.

Ninglu knew that the Crimson Walker was a cabal composed of psykers, genetic scientists, and warlords.

They served the last Tyrant of the "Age of Strife" in the capacity of vizier's advisors, creating war Machines and genetically flawed biochemical Monsters for their master.

There were one hundred and nine Crimson prosthetic eyes in total, and according to the information on the Data Slate, they came from the same family.

【This family's idea must have been that if they lacked high-quality rare items, they would make up for it with quantity.

Yet they did not expect that Tierni is a "Trickster".】

The next day, after Ninglu woke up, he saw, as expected, the Spear of Dionysus appearing on the marble floor of the bedroom.

【Huang Laohan's craftsmanship is indeed excellent; the Spear of Dionysus is even more miraculous than the Singing Spear used by Eldar Farseers and Battle Witches.

The Singing Spear returns to their hands after an attack, relying on a psychic connection.

But the Spear of Dionysus—I didn't even sense what kind of power acted upon it to make it return to my side; it is truly miraculous!】

He went down to the first floor of the villa to hear the report from the Primarch Attendant.

"My Lord, Lewis Von Valancius reports that while he was sailing south from Voskonia toward the galactic Star Map, he encountered an Xenos fleet in a neighboring star system."

"According to his report, the Xenos warships have cannons mounted on the lower sides, so I judge them to be a fleet of the Fulao."

"Lewis reports that the Xenos have occupied two planets in the star system, and he requests that you dispatch a fleet to provide support."

Ninglu nodded slightly: "Reply to him that I will personally lead the fleet and head out to provide support together with the warships of the Tenth Legion."

"Issue the order to mobilize the Eleventh Chapter to head to the star system occupied by the Fulao."

"Convey the message to Manus and have the Tenth Legion head to the star system occupied by the Fulao."

Five days later, Ninglu and Manus, having finished their many affairs, boarded the Wangquan Yinying, and the fleet set sail.
