Chapter 276: Nova Polia
Ninglu used the Prophecy Dice, and there were three directions for the divination.
First, just like the previous two divinations for Modian and Catachan, it was to divine special worlds not yet discovered by the Imperium and to occupy these worlds with special strategic value.
Among these, they could be further divided into two sub-categories.
One category was worlds already confirmed as recruitment worlds, such as Posul for the Fourth Legion, Kase for the Eighth Legion, and Vesah, which needed to be subjugated.
The other category was Forge Worlds and Knight Worlds; their significance lay in discovering them before other worlds of the Imperium, allowing one to represent the Imperium and sign alliances with these worlds.
Second, it was the worlds where STCs were located.
Ninglu knew of some worlds where STCs were located, but he did not know the Star Map to travel to these worlds.
To get his hands on them, he needed to divine the Star Maps.
Obtaining these STCs could, on one hand, improve the technology possessed by the Legion, and on the other hand, be used as bargaining chips to trade with the Adeptus Mechanicus, just like trading for a Battle Moon.
The core mission of the Adeptus Mechanicus was the pursuit of knowledge, and the focus of their ultimate task was to unearth or recover usable Standard Template Construct systems.
Horus Lupercal won the support of a portion of the Adeptus Mechanicus forces not only because they were dissatisfied with Huang Laohan and the Imperium's restrictions on them, but also because the two STCs obtained from the Oritan technocracy were important bargaining chips.
The first two major directions shared a common point: those discovered during the "Great Crusade" era; to get them, one had to act a step ahead.
The last one was the worlds containing special places like the Black Library and Potion Materials.
Ninglu took many factors into consideration, his brain spinning rapidly as he pondered what to divine this time.
Things like Posul and the Steel Blade STC, which would only be discovered after the "Great Crusade," were excluded first.
Those that would be discovered during the "Great Crusade" were considered based on the two dimensions of chronological order and value.
In the end, Nova Polia was the name that remained in his mind.
The Xenos race, the Normans, occupied the area, and they had enslaved humanity for thousands of years since the "Age of Strife."
The eyes of the Normans were the main Potion Material for the "Reader of Minds," the subsequent Sequence 8 of the "Guanzhe."
The "Space Wolves" purged the Normans during the "Great Crusade" and later found an STC for a type of battle tank in the ruins.
To commemorate the discovery process of the battle tank, it was later named the Leman Russ Battle Tank after the Primarch of the "Space Wolves," and it would be the main battle tank of the future Astra Militarum.
【Although the Leman Russ Battle Tank was not adopted by most Astartes, with only the Wolf Legion retaining a batch of Leman Russ Vanquishers equipped with Twin-linked Autocannons to commemorate their Primarch, this tank still had extremely high value and could be used to trade with the Tech-Priests.】
Moreover, the Leman Russ tank was simple to manufacture and easy to maintain and resupply; equipping the Legion Auxilia with it could also increase their firepower.
During the "Great Crusade," the Auxilia were also equipped with Leman Russ tanks, although not at the same ratio as the future Astra Militarum.】
Ninglu tapped his fingers on the table, thinking again that he did not know when the Space Wolves would purge the Normans, and he could not be certain if Normans still existed on other worlds.
【I must purge the Normans before the Space Wolves discover Nova Polia and obtain the Potion Material for the "Reader of Minds."】
Ninglu had long since "left" the Whisper Spear in the Armory, so he returned directly to the "Kingdom of Disorder" to retrieve the Prophecy Dice.
The information he knew about Nova Polia flashed rapidly through his mind.
【Xenos, Normans, enslaving humans.
There is an STC for a battle tank on it.】
After everything Ninglu knew about Nova Polia flashed through his mind, he recited silently in his heart.
【The Star Map from Vostonia to Nova Polia.
...】
After reciting it eleven times, he reached out and threw the Prophecy Dice in his hand.
After the triangular pyramid tumbled in the air several times and landed in Ninglu's open palm, a scene resembling a holographic projection unfolded before his eyes.
After memorizing the Star Map, Ninglu input it into a Data Crystal.
At this time, Arsena Dunn and Gabriel also returned to the palace.
Ninglu looked at the Master of Ordnance: "Gabriel, the Mechanized Company improved by the Legion in imitation of the 'Iron Hands' starts from the Eleventh Legion."
He then asked the Primarch Attendant: "When will the Eighth Legion arrive at Vostonia?"
"My Lord, it is expected to take another two weeks."
Ninglu nodded slightly: "How is the progress of Woyiqiehe's construction on Sepra Mundi?"
As a "Reader," he would not forget anything he understood, so the Primarch Attendant replied immediately.
"My Lord, Tech-Priest Wojciech Belik is following your orders to vigorously develop shipyards on Sepra Mundi."
"He discovered that Sepra Mundi possesses rich mineral resources, billions of high-quality workers, and a complete industrial system, which is suitable for the development of shipyards."
"It is expected that within ten years, Sepra Mundi will become the largest shipyard in the Obscurus Sector, and its construction capacity will be comparable only to a few shipyards like Mars."
Ninglu asked again: "How is the progress of the Xinggang construction?"
The Primarch Attendant replied: "Three large Xinggang have been built on Sepra Mundi, and five more are under construction."
After confirming that Sepra Mundi was on the right track, Ninglu issued an order.
"Order Woyiqiehe to come to Vostonia immediately."
Ninglu decided to take this opportunity to raise Woyiqiehe's prestige within the Mechanicus.
Although Rosicky Cech and Gabriel were capable, they were not Tech-Priests, and there was ultimately a layer of estrangement, making it impossible to extract benefits from within the Mechanicus.
Woyiqiehe's prestige had been low before, and he was not respected by the Tech-Priests within the Adeptus Mechanicus.
But if Woyiqiehe followed Ninglu to retrieve an STC, even if he were not a core figure, he would be seen as someone favored by the Omnissiah.
Two weeks later, the Eighth Legion's fleet arrived, and after Ninglu asked Thierry Vieira, he confirmed that he had digested the Potion.
Ninglu then used the Whisper Spear and the arm and blade of Visken to concoct the "Weapon Master" Potion, allowing Thierry to advance to a Sequence 7 Beyonder.
After Thierry restrained his energy, he spoke.
"Your Chapter, follow me to Nova Polia."
Although Ninglu did not know much about the Normans, since their eyes were materials for the "Reader of Minds," it could be inferred that they should possess psychic abilities.
"Fighters" could use their bodies to weaken the influence of supernatural powers to a certain extent.
Finally, Ninglu looked at Thierry and sent the ritual process into his mind.
After Thierry digested the data flooding into his brain, he thought to himself: 【Father, the Monarch is the Black Emperor.】
A moment later, he calmed down; for him, from the moment he pledged his loyalty to Ninglu, he had already offered his complete devotion.
After becoming the Monarch's scion, he regarded the Monarch as his own faith even more.
To Thierry, Monarch and Black Emperor were merely different honorifics.
When Sanchez prepared to build the Altar, Ninglu received Buuka and the others, promoting them from "Warrior" Potion digestors to "Fighter".
Woyiqiehe arrived one week later than the Eighth Legion, and after Ninglu confirmed he had digested the "Knower" Potion, he promoted him to "Archaeologist".
However, he cautiously did not tell the Tech-Priest, who worshipped the Machine God, about the existence of the Black Emperor.
Although he confirmed Woyiqiehe's loyalty to him, he was different from the others; he possessed a faith, and at least now was not the appropriate time.
Subsequently, Ninglu ordered the fleet to set sail.
During the voyage, Thierry and Luoersiliefu, who had succeeded as First Captain after the death of Ninglu's earliest confidant, Robin, completed the ritual together.
After a voyage lasting five weeks of ship time, the fleet arrived at Nova Polia.
After the Primarch Attendant compiled the scan results from all Auspex squads, he reported to Ninglu.
"My Lord, this star system has only one planet suitable for human habitation; there are massive life signals upon it, and it is estimated that at least several hundred million life forms exist on this world."
Arsena said, operating the Control Staff to highlight a planet.
