Chapter 83: Good Big Brother Horus
The Vengeful Spirit is an astonishing existence; even the largest capital ships are not worth mentioning before it, and the giant accelerator cannons on the warship alone far exceed the length of the vast majority of other warships.
After Ninglu's transport ship docked, he and First Captain Saisake walked toward the Luna Wolves who were there to greet them.
He sensed the offspring behind him and to his side, his body tensing instantly, as if a hunter had encountered another powerful hunter.
Ninglu looked ahead at the Luna Wolf who was carrying his helmet in the crook of his arm; most conspicuous was his black hair, bound in a silver sheath and tied into an upright braid, like a palm tree growing from the top of his head.
He also had the wide-set eyes and prominent nose bridge that resembled Horus, and he wore gold-and-white power armor.
The Astartes with the topknot stepped forward, bowing slightly to show his respect for the Primarch.
"My lord, I am First Captain Ezekyle Abaddon of the 'Luna Wolves', ordered to welcome your arrival."
"Abaddon..." Ninglu said thoughtfully, "You have achieved many victories."
Abaddon assumed it was the Reaper who had reported to Ninglu, and he smiled, pleased that his combat record was praised by a Primarch.
"My lord, thank you for your recognition."
Only then did Abaddon cast his gaze toward the Astartes behind and to the right of Ninglu, and he immediately noticed the change in Saisake.
His armor had changed from bright red to pitch black, and only the bright red scythe on his right shoulder guard revealed their former identity as Reapers.
"What, Reaper Lord, are you preparing to collect corpses behind us?"
Facing Abaddon's mockery, Saisake, who already felt constrained, had his eyes overflow with crimson.
"Abaddon, do you want to fight?"
Hearing this, the man with the topknot curled his lips into a smile, his eyes flashing with sharpness as he collided with Saisake.
"Fine, but I must first complete the mission my father has entrusted to me."
Ninglu frowned; as Astartes, who were machines of war, they would instinctively test each other when they met.
Interrupting the sharpness between the two, he did not approve of this meaningless duel.
"If you want to compete, compete in the next battle to see who kills more enemies."
After saying this, he looked at Abaddon.
"I think you don't want to keep Horus waiting too long."
Abaddon withdrew his gaze, "Please follow me."
Saisake suppressed his battle intent and followed behind Ninglu, walking forward.
A moment later, Ninglu met Horus on the bridge of the Vengeful Spirit.
"My brother," Horus immediately walked out from beside the strategic table, smiling, "I hope you and your offspring get along well."
The Primarch keenly sensed that compared to the polite pleasantries of last time, sincerity dominated his words this time, and Ninglu could not help but speculate in his heart.
【After Huang Laohan's hammering and adjustments, Horus has decided to play the role of a good big brother.】
"Horus, of course I get along well with them."
As he spoke, his large hand patted Saisake's left shoulder.
"Look, Saisake looks very good now."
Saisake's instinctive resistance dissipated immediately upon feeling the contact of his Gene-Father.
Horus glanced at Saisake; the unruly Reaper First Captain was as docile as a pet being stroked by a noble of Terra.
"You are ready; it is time to begin our journey."
"Before that, I want to introduce my advisory team to you first."
Three Luna Wolves walked out from behind Horus.
Horus said with a smile: "My Council of Four Kings, all shaped by the moon; you have already met Ezekyle, he is the Full Moon."
Ninglu knew that the Council of Four Kings was composed of the four most outstanding Astartes among the "Luna Wolves" and the future "Sons of Horus".
In addition to serving as Company Captains, they were on the Vengeful Spirit daily, acting as Horus's most trusted staff.
Ninglu was also brewing a unique organization for the "Order Shadow", but he would wait until Howard Fender and the others had finished their modifications before setting out to build it.
"Tarik Torgaddon, Gibbous Moon."
Ninglu's gaze swept over Kaishen and Mainos, lingering for a moment on Torgaddon, the tallest among the members of the Council of Four Kings.
After seeing many Order Shadows and Luna Wolves, he noticed that his own offspring were slightly taller, but not as much as the gap between himself and Horus.
【In other words, my height of 4.11 meters partly stems from the "Barbarian"; this Tier will amplify my physique.】
While Ninglu was deep in thought, he walked to the strategic table with Saisake.
Horus also cast his gaze toward the holographic Star Map and spoke.
"I think you would prefer to lead your offspring to conquer those worlds around your homeworld."
"Therefore, I will leave them to you."
Ninglu nodded slightly; he felt the goodwill released by Horus.
He was both hoping to be a good big brother and using his influence to exert pressure on him.
"The target is here; we call it the Ape-man System."
"This Ape-man System is very special; the environments of the four planets differ, but they are all high-gravity worlds, and Ogryns are spread across them."
"Before I was summoned by Father, I had just begun to conquer one of the worlds, and now the Tenth Company is there."
Ninglu looked at the four worlds glowing with bright green light on the Star Map.
Ogryns, huh? His eyes narrowed.
【Not bad, their arms are the main material for the "Barbarian" Potion.】
The expedition fleet then set sail; Ninglu remained on the Vengeful Spirit, and after returning to the Imperium, the addition of Navigators meant he no longer had to worry about Warp travel himself.
The arrival of the Astropath also allowed him to maintain a certain connection with Vostonia.
On the Vengeful Spirit, he learned everything about the Human Empire from Horus.
Horus discovered that Ninglu was learning, understanding, and digesting knowledge in every aspect at an astonishing speed.
After arriving at the Ape-man System, the expedition fleet synchronized time with the Tenth Company, and it was estimated that this Warp voyage had taken only 16 Terra Days.
Upon hearing this news, Ninglu could not help but sigh with emotion; this was the benefit of returning to the Imperium.
Warp travel was safer and faster.
The Tenth Company had already completed the mission left behind by Horus, conquering one of the planets, with three planets remaining to be conquered.
Horus tapped his finger lightly, enlarging the largest of the four planets.
"This world is one dominated by a grassland environment, where Ogryns herd creatures like mammoths as their food."
He looked at Ninglu; although this brother had learned various forms of knowledge at an astonishing speed, how would he perform in actual combat, and could he lead the Eleventh Legion?
Horus remained doubtful and decided to observe during the joint operation.
"Let us head to this world together and let those savage Ogryns know what true power is, how about it?"
"Very well," Ninglu nodded slightly; he decided to begin reorganizing the Legion's style during this campaign, "I will return to the Legion to give a pre-battle speech, and we shall meet on the ground."
The Astartes Gaizao Shouhu on the Void Hunter were still in progress, and as of now, not a single person had completed their ascension.
As Ninglu took a transport ship toward the Sawtooth, he pondered the upcoming conquest and which company he should lead personally.
He glanced at Saisake opposite him and shook his head slightly.
To establish a model for reform, one must start with the easy tasks first.
Thinking of this, Ninglu had a candidate in mind.
