Chapter 86: The First Extraordinary Being of the Gene-Progeny
Ninglu found a large pit with a diameter of eighty-four meters inside the Ogryn "city."
Inside, countless creatures about forty centimeters long, resembling giant beetles but with flatter bodies, were surging.
Their backs were covered in thick, dark carapaces with uneven surfaces, bearing mottled textures similar to rust or dried blood.
They possessed four serrated, hook-like limbs with barbs at the joints, and they covered the Ogryn corpses, emitting a faint, crunching sound.
Upon seeing these insects, Ninglu immediately identified them as the Corpse-eater, the only missing main ingredient for the "Gravedigger" Potion.
He also noticed five Ogryn children, as tall as ordinary adults, sitting by the pit, blankly guarding a large pot while swallowing their saliva.
Dark, four-legged Corpse-eaters were churning in the large pot, and one child blankly reached a hand into the boiling cauldron.
Being dull-witted, he only felt pain when he grabbed a Corpse-eater, and as he withdrew his hand, he brought the four-legged insect out with him.
Ignoring the pain, he opened his mouth to swallow the Corpse-eater, chewing it in large bites.
Ninglu then understood that the Ogryns had built a corpse-recycling factory; they fed the bodies to the Corpse-eaters and then ate the insects themselves.
【Eating insects is one thing, but is it really okay to eat Corpse-eaters?】
Ninglu's Spirit Vision reminded him that these Corpse-eaters, which were materials for the "Gravedigger" pathway, were shrouded in a cold, chilling aura.
The Primarch stepped to the edge of the pit and reached out to grab a Corpse-eater.
The Corpse-eater felt cold to the touch, and its four serrated, hook-like limbs struggled violently.
Ninglu applied a little force, and the Corpse-eater immediately sensed a threat to its life and stopped moving.
Adams, who had walked over to give a briefing, saw this scene and frowned slightly.
The Company Captain spoke first to brief him: "Father, only two soldiers were unfortunately struck in the head by Ogryn clubs."
"These barbarians are even stronger than us; they even managed to crack the Macharius Heavy Tank."
The cold Adams could not help but sigh, and he lamented.
"Fortunately, they lack intelligence, and even more so, discipline and combat awareness."
"Otherwise, these abhumans would be a problem."
"Your company did well; you have initially overcome the desire to kill."
The Primarch encouraged them: "You must follow my warnings and remain calm in battle."
"We will certainly not let you down."
Adams struck his breastplate with his right hand and said solemnly.
After finishing the briefing, he tentatively asked the Gene-Father.
"You like these insects."
"Hmm."
Ninglu nodded, realizing this was an opportunity to establish a persona within the Eleventh Legion as someone who likes rare animals and objects.
"Please leave this task to me; I will collect them for you."
"Good, very good."
Ninglu amplified his joy and expressed his appreciation with slight exaggeration.
Afterward, he avoided the perception of his progeny and returned to the "Kingdom of Disorder."
Just as he stepped into the "Kingdom of Disorder," the Golden Rune on the Silver Power Fist emitted a dazzling golden light without him even activating it.
Ninglu waved his left arm, and the Golden Rune flashed in the air.
He vaguely sensed a power contained within it—the power of order.
【Compared to other Potion materials, this stimulates my Spirituality the most.】
【The Golden Scale, order—it is almost certain that it contains the extraordinary characteristics of a certain Sequence of the "Judge" pathway.】
【And it should belong to a high Sequence.】
Ninglu cautiously refrained from injecting Spirituality to stimulate changes in the gauntlet.
With a thought, he first went to the Blasphemous Slate.
Ninglu noticed that on the slate, there were still only all the Potion formulas for Sequence 7, as well as the Sequence 6 "Corrupted Baron" and the adjacent pathway's "Judge."
Sequence 6 "Corrupted Baron" Potion formula:
Main ingredients: 1 Osiris Mind-Control Seed, 1 Brain-eater.
Auxiliary ingredients: 33,000 ml of Helas Volt, 11 teeth from an Evil Moon Clan Orc.
Extraordinary abilities:...
Looking at the Potion formula, Ninglu knew he would not be able to gather the Potion materials for "Corrupted Baron" in the short term.
The Evil Moon Clan is one of the six major Orc clans, spread throughout the galaxy, and is the easiest to encounter among the missing Potion materials.
The Osiris Mind-Control Seed is active in the Ultima Segmentum in the eastern part of the galaxy and will not be encountered in the short term.
The Brain-eater is one of the main forces of the Rangdan, whose power is similar to the Bone-eaters and inferior to the Worm-man Sloth.
The Rangdan's sphere of influence is in the northeast of the galaxy and was a powerful Xenos race encountered by the Imperium during the "Great Crusade."
Measuring by the price paid, it is no exaggeration to say that the Rangdan were the greatest threat the Imperium faced.
The Imperium paid the price of over two hundred thousand Astartes, millions of Imperial Army soldiers, and at least several Titan Legions to "exterminate" the Rangdan.
Even at Ullanor, the Imperium did not pay such a heavy price.
Huang Laohan not only dispatched the Omen Order but even destroyed the "Eternal Night Labyrinth" and released the Void Dragon to finally win the victory.
As the main force against the Rangdan, the First Legion, the Dark Angels, who suffered nearly one hundred and fifty thousand casualties, ceded their position as the most numerous Space Marine Legion to the "Ultramarines" after the war.
【No rush; the "Briber" Potion has not been fully digested yet, and I still have to continue bribing Huang Laohan.】
Ninglu then walked toward the furnace to prepare the "Gravedigger" Potion.
As a Primarch, he naturally shares a genetic bond with the Order Shadows.
Although some Terra-born are more loyal to the Emperor than to him, most are still loyal to him; considering he will be developing in the Imperium, the threshold for loyalty does not need to be too high.
Through conversation and the previous battle, Ninglu had already confirmed Adams's loyalty and decided to cultivate him as the first Beyonder among his gene-progeny.
Adams's cold temperament was well-suited for a "Corpse Collector," and as he pondered, he tossed a Corpse-eater into the furnace.
A moment later, he scooped up a piece of green gelatinous substance.
Ninglu immediately returned to the real world and went to a nearby Ogryn building, which could barely accommodate his giant frame.
He sent a communication message to Adams, and a moment later, the Fourth Company Captain walked in carrying two crates.
After placing the crates on the ground, he spoke to Ninglu.
"Father, these are the Corpse-eaters you requested; there are four hundred and thirty-two of them inside."
Ninglu nodded with satisfaction and opened his palm.
"You have performed well; this is your reward."
Adams's black eyes looked at the Potion, and he immediately picked it up, for he trusted his Gene-Father.
The Fourth Company Captain tilted his head back and poured the green Potion into his mouth.
After Ninglu used telepathy to instruct Adams, the Astartes quickly brought his own power under control.
After Adams's eyes returned to normal, he intuitively felt his own body temperature drop.
The Primarch's superhuman perception also noticed it, but it had not dropped as much as he had expected, and he thought to himself.
【The Astartes' body far exceeds that of a mortal; the "Corpse Collector" Potion should not have as great an impact on him as it does on an ordinary person.
Or perhaps, the modification range of a low-Tier Potion on a superhuman body is smaller.】
Ninglu thought thoughtfully.
"Thank you for your gift, Father."
Ninglu did not tell Adams where the power came from, and the Fourth Company Captain did not ask; it was enough for him to understand that this was a personal gift from his Gene-Father.
Ninglu sent another Mind Pulse to Adams: "If you want to master the power I have bestowed upon you, you must be a good 'Corpse Collector'."
"Collect their corpses, embalm their arms, and bring them to me."
"Their strong arms are excellent trophies."
"By your command, Father."
Adams turned and left to act as a "Corpse Collector" in accordance with his Gene-Father's instructions.
At the same moment, the killing speed competition between the First Captains of the Eleventh Legion and the Sixteenth Legion began.
