Chapter 300: Plane Transfer Array

~11 min read 2,178 words

Lei En found a secluded spot to land.

The Flame Dragon gently set down two bronze wild horses; even though they were unconscious, it could feel the strength and sturdiness of their bodies. If Lei En were not far stronger than them, they wouldn't have been captured so easily.

Lei En opened the pet‑taming interface, tried each only once, and tamed the bronze wild horses.

Soon, the two horses woke up.

The defiant wildness that had been in their eyes vanished, replaced by obedience, like an old horse bred over generations, affectionately rubbing its head against Lei En.

He soothed them for a moment and then stored them in the taming space.

Mid-stage wild horses are still inferior to high‑tier Flame Dragons; they consume little energy in the taming space, and with only two of them, the load is bearable.

Lei En prepared to take them back for study, to see how to breed cavalry.

If all goes well, he'll capture more bronze wild horses.

He placed alloy collars on the two horses' necks, making it easy to locate the herd. This is a new ability unlocked at Tier 3 of Activated Metal, forming a mark on handled metal like a magical waypoint to guide him.

The mark can last a long time, until the metal structure is completely shattered.

Previously, during his battle with the Golden Three‑headed Dragon, Lei En also secretly left a metal mark on it, embedded in the gaps of the dragon's dorsal scales.

That creature fled into some part of the Shi Jie Shan Mai and hasn't moved since; it is likely its lair.

Lei En can trouble it at any time.

Both the dragon itself and the treasure likely hidden in its nest are very tempting, but he'll wait until he ascends to Legend and feels more confident before acting.

Riding the Flame Dragon back to camp, Bu Lai Mi Te hadn't returned yet.

Lei En thought he'd have to wait a long time, but just after noon, Bu Lai Mi Te and his Earth Bear came rushing from the north; the dwarf's expression was a bit complicated, but his soul hue was relatively relaxed, so it shouldn't be bad news.

"Mr. Bu Lai Mi Te, how's it going?" Lei En asked as he approached.

The dwarf didn't dismount, "I asked for you, but the Titan Elder didn't give a direct answer. He seems very interested in you, inquired about your situation, and I heard you're a student of a Holy Soul Wizard, so he invited you to meet him."

"Meet a Titan Elder?" Lei En was taken aback.

Bu Lai Mi Te nodded; he seemed to know some inside information and urged, "Don't worry, Suo Li Mu shouldn't have ill intent. This is a rare chance that may bring more opportunities; you mustn't miss it."

"More opportunities..." Lei En thought silently, his soul eye constantly open; the dwarf's mind was straightforward and he wasn't lying.

He hesitated for a few seconds and decided to accept the invitation.

"Then I'll trouble you, Mr. Bu Lai Mi Te, please lead the way,"

Bu Lai Mi Te shrank the Earth Bear, leapt onto Lei En's Flame Dragon, and flew toward Karl Peak. Along the way, the dwarf hunter seemed somewhat excited, not because of the Titan Elder, but because of the flying dragon mount beneath him.

He knew the Flame Dragon's temperament well, so he was very curious.

"Lei En, may I ask, how did you tame the Flame Dragon?" Bu Lai Mi Te couldn't help but ask, his eyes scanning the other Extreme Warrior's flying dragons.

He had always wanted a flying mount and wasn't interested in ordinary griffins, so for years he could only ride the Earth Bear on the ground.

The Earth Bear is a very powerful animal companion, but it stays on the ground and can never catch up with a flying dragon.

Sometimes it's quite inconvenient.

Lei En saw through Bu Lai Mi Te's thoughts; it concerned his own phone secret, so he naturally wouldn't reveal it, and smiled, "Sorry."

That was a direct refusal.

Bu Lai Mi Te understood immediately, but remained persistent, asking, "I'm not trying to probe your secret; if you have an extra Flame Dragon, could you sell me one? I can trade something of equal value."

There was indeed a Flame Dragon in Lei En's taming space; after thinking, he still shook his head and refused.

The process of assigning a taming master can fool Extreme Warriors, but it can't deceive Bu Lai Mi Te, the archaeologist; his ruse was exposed in a second.

Bu Lai Mi Te sighed regretfully.

Returning to Karl Peak, the towering mountain loomed larger in view, still dozens of li from the range; Bu Lai Mi Te suddenly said, "Don't fly too close to the Lone Peak; let's go around to the north and climb from the foothills."

"Why?" Lei En asked, a bit puzzled.

Bu Lai Mi Te looked at him with a strange gaze, "You don't know?"

Lei En shook his head.

"The Lone Peak has been occupied by an ancient red dragon for a hundred years,"

Bu Lai Mi Te said gravely, "That vile dragon claims the entire peak and the surrounding fifty li as its territory. Its dragon nest is built on the southern slope of the summit; most of the time it sleeps in the nest. If you get too close and rouse it, you won't even have a chance to escape."

Lei En broke out in cold sweat from the fright.

He hadn't been idle around Karl Peak in the past few days, circling the peak with his Flame Dragon dozens of times while searching for a storm giant herd.

At that time he definitely entered the fifty‑li range.

He felt a wave of dread afterward, but fortunately his luck held, and he didn't cause enough commotion to wake the dragon.

A dragon's power is proportional to its age; the older the dragon, the stronger and larger it becomes.

The ancient red dragon is over two thousand years old; at this stage the dragon has surely entered the Holy Realm, its spellcasting comparable to a Holy Soul Wizard. Moreover, the dragon's terrifying physical strength likely surpasses that of an average Holy Soul Wizard.

Lei En quickly adjusted his flight direction.

While steering the Flame Dragon around, he asked, "Where did this ancient red dragon come from? Why haven't I heard of it?"

"Few who have seen the 'Juyan' survive, so the news doesn't spread," Bu Lai Mi Te said, a hint of fear in his eyes. "I heard from Suo Li Mu that its true name is 'Ivalna', possibly returned from another plane; it's one of Ai Lun E Si's strongest dragons, extremely cunning and greedy—never provoke it."

The dwarf's Suo Li Mu is that Titan Elder.

"Ancient red dragon Ivalna..." Lei En noted silently, marking Karl Peak as a restricted zone.

After flying two or three hours, nearing the Socrode Corridor, then turning back north, Lei En followed Bu Lai Mi Te's directions and landed about fifty li from Karl Peak.

After deliberation, the Extreme Warrior retreated with the Flame Dragon to a secluded valley outside the safe distance to wait.

Lei En and Bu Lai Mi Te rode the Earth Bear forward.

They rode the bear all the way to the foot of Karl Peak, then climbed up the north slope. The higher they climbed, the steeper the mountain, yet the Earth Bear was undaunted; its massive paws acted like suction cups, clinging securely to soil or rock without slipping.

The supreme Element "Earth Pulse" made it move as if on flat ground—agile and swift.

But sitting on the Earth Bear's back was a terrible experience.

It reminded Lei En of riding a hand‑powered tractor with his mother into town as a child, careening over bumpy, uneven mud roads, so violently that he vomited his overnight meal the moment he got off.

Even with his current strength, it wouldn't be easy.

"No wonder Bu Lai Mi Te wants a flying mount…"

Finally, before night fell, the Earth Bear climbed up the waist of Karl Peak, clinging to the cliff and entering a valley, and the dwarf whispered, "We've arrived."

He jumped down from the Earth Bear, his expression unchanged, clearly already accustomed to this experience.

Lei En landed steadily, looked up around, and found the valley very spacious, its area larger than the Jin Gang Fort base he had chosen, situated at Karl Peak's waist, like a huge platform.

The valley leaned against a massive peak, with a steep slope on the other side blocking the cold wind; the temperature inside the valley was mild, covered with a layer of bluish‑gray vegetation.

He immediately noticed artificial carving marks beneath that layer of plants.

He brushed aside weeds and vines, revealing a foundation of giant stones like a fragment of an iceberg; Lei En scanned the scene and saw broken stone pillars, rocks scattered throughout the valley, and ruined building foundations, as if a magnificent palace had once stood here.

But after countless years of erosion and weathering, only ruins remained.

The entire ruin was overgrown with vegetation; even upon entering the valley, one could easily overlook it without careful observation.

It would be even harder to spot from the sky.

Lei En suddenly realized that when he rode the Fire Dragon a few days ago to search, he hadn't noticed any clue at all.

Judging by the scale of this ruin, it was clearly the work of giants.

But where are the Storm Giants?

"Come with me."

Bu Lai Mi Te waved his hand, led the way into the valley, and said, "These structures were built by Storm Giants in the Second Era, and have been destroyed for over ten thousand years. Decades ago I uncovered this ruin through archaeological records, gaining much, and even made contact with a Storm Giant."

The dwarf walked to an unremarkable cliff wall in the valley, pushed aside thick vines, and revealed a deep opening.

The opening was low, perfect for the dwarf to pass, but Lei En had to bend over to enter.

Inside, the cavern wound downward, the passage widening, descending dozens of meters underground, where a collapsed magnificent palace appeared before his eyes.

The entrance to the palace lay in a crack on the wall.

Lei En stood inside the desolate palace, looked up, and the darkness receded from his eyes like a tide; the stone walls over thirty meters high were covered in bas-reliefs, most of which had fallen away, obscuring their details, revealing the vicissitudes of ten thousand years.

Most of the palace was buried under mud and stone, and the air was thick with a rotting scent.

However, at the very center of the palace stood a circular formation about twenty meters in diameter, still relatively intact. The formation rose half a meter above the ground like an altar, surrounded by six massive stone pillars, the runes on the pillars arranged neatly; although some were blurred by weathering, they remained discernible.

Many of the rune engravings showed obvious repair marks.

Lei En was no longer a novice Wizard; after merging the Key of Doors, his command of Arcane runes qualified him as an Arcane Master, and at a glance he recognized this as a teleportation array.

The application and layout of the runes were exceedingly intricate and profound, far surpassing ordinary teleportation arrays.

He examined it closely a few times, and his heart raced instantly.

It turned out to be a planar teleportation array; once activated, it could enable travel across planes, leaving the Ai Lun E Si world!

"Back then I discovered this teleportation array, scoured for materials, and spent over ten years restoring it," Bu Lai Mi Te said, standing at the edge of the array, reaching to press a rune on one of the stone pillars, muttering a few incantations.

That rune glowed faintly, flickering gently.

A few seconds later.

The six stone pillars surrounding the teleportation array trembled in unison, each rune on the pillars flaring with light, as if massive energy poured in, activating the entire formation.

Boom—

The pillars shot six beams of light that converged in mid‑air within the array; amid the surging energy, a light gate opened, as if tearing a rift in space, and the gate rapidly expanded, becoming a massive teleportation gate within half a minute.

It was the largest teleportation gate Lei En had ever seen, shaped like a half‑circle, resembling an arch, its height and width nearly fifteen meters, spanning the entire rune formation.

The teleportation gate gradually stabilized.

The space before his eyes warped, leading to another world; beyond the gate lay a vast complex of structures, though they remained indistinct.

Bu Lai Mi Te turned back and said, "Hurry in, the planar teleportation array consumes a lot of energy and can't last long," and without hesitation he stepped inside.

Lei En took a deep breath, followed, and stepped into the teleportation gate.
