Chapter 551: Complete Resurrection Technique

~13 min read 2,486 words

Lei En withdrew the Bimengli Claw, restoring it to a palm.

Yingnola's body suddenly went limp; he reached out and cradled her corpse, descending slowly. The dazzling colored dust that Yingnola released before dying continued to drift, filling the entire arena with beautiful dust, like countless stars, flashing with brilliant neon, dreamlike and illusory.

The man draped in a blood‑red great cloak held a woman as they fell from mid‑air; the scene looked beautiful, yet none of the tens of thousands of spectators outside could laugh.

Almost everyone's expression was solemn, their eyes stunned into a daze.

Naise has lost another elder!

Even now, people cannot understand why the colored dust cannot adhere to Lei En, preventing the breaking of his and the Mirror Image's invisibility. Moreover, the rainbow light orb that Elder Yingnola desperately released at the end sent three or four seven‑ring rainbow beams that struck Lei En, yet they had no effect, like a gentle breeze.

The whole battle left everyone bewildered.

In almost every spectator's eyes, only Elder Yingnola's figure flickered, appearing and disappearing in the arena—one moment in the sky, the next instant on the ground, moving so fast that eyes could not keep up.

Likewise, Lei En and his Mirror Image were equally unfathomable.

Each time they manifested for an instant, then vanished in a flash, as if present everywhere in the arena; by the time everyone finally saw clearly, the fight was already over.

Elder Yingnola died on the spot.

Only a handful of legendary Wizards understood what had occurred during the battle.

Elder Yingnola truly lived up to being a nineteenth‑level Arcane master: her defenses were formidable, her mobility swift, her counterattacks sharp, her command of spells exquisite, and a transcendent being beneath a Holy Soul could hardly kill her, let alone approach to strike.

Unfortunately, she ran into Lei En, the unreasonable Wizard assassin!

In the end, Lei En still had the superior skill.

This made them realize that Lei En's ability to suppress casters was not merely due to raw power and spell immunity, nor was he a brute who only swung a hammer; his reaction, insight, casting technique, and timing mastery reached a breathtaking level, truly Master‑class.

Just the technique of Flashing Through Micro‑Meteors alone is enough for many Wizards who constantly flash into walls to study for a lifetime.

Dozens of Micro‑Meteors spin at high speed; to pierce a tiny gap in an instant demands eye‑sharpness and reflexes beyond belief.

Legendary Wizards couldn't help but think that if they tried, they might not succeed even once in ten attempts; Lei En's daring to play this way in battle clearly shows his extremely high confidence.

Lei En is a true Wizard, a battle Wizard!

Yingnola's death was not unjust.

The legendary Wizards of the great Fu Kong Chengs and academies both praised and lamented.

They praised having witnessed a spectacular magical duel that opened eyes; they lamented that such a powerful Arcane master fell, which was truly a pity.

Heistav sensed a clue; he exchanged a glance with his wife Laila, saw the doubt in her eyes, hesitated a few seconds, then whispered, "Rainbow Light Principle?"

"It seems so, I can't be sure; perhaps his resistance is just too high."

Laila Aorosan's spirit was already numb, "Legendary dragon species haven't appeared for centuries; it's unlikely he ever had a chance to encounter them."

Otherwise, this would be another legendary Element!

The surrounding students didn't quite understand why the legendary dragon species were suddenly brought up.

"Teacher!"

"Elder Yingnola…"

On the western tower's stands, among the Naise Wizards, a few mournful voices rose.

The most striking were two women and a man, three young Wizards, all Yingnola's students, their faces grim, wailing while angrily staring at Lei En, wishing they could devour the mortal enemy who killed their teacher.

Lei En placed Yingnola's corpse on the ground, glanced back at the Naise Wizards on the western tower, a cold smile on his face, showing no concern for the hatred of those Yingnola students.

Come to think of it, he held no grudge against Yingnola.

Back then, the two legendary Wizards who intervened at Kangjiatuo were one named Kuitu and another unseen; the Soul Eye saw an eighteenth‑level Arcane master, likely also a member of Elder Naise's group, certainly not Yingnola, and this time did not come to BrewotzAcademy.

Elder Yingnola's reputation was excellent; rumors said she was a high‑moral, easy‑going witch, deeply respected by the Naise Wizards.

However, Lei En was unsure whether she knew about Augulevi Master.

How many in Elder Naise's group truly understood the inside story?

Weizelan and Naise were overt rivals, but covert enemies; Naise had even taken lethal action, and their antagonism forbade any mercy toward Yingnola.

Otherwise, the Weizelan Wizards who perished in the undead calamity, and their families, would have no one to demand blood repayment from.

Only by hurting Naise could Augulevi Master be forced out.

Lei En firmed his resolve, about to speak again to provoke, when a tall thin figure rose on the western tower, flew into the arena and landed before him.

Elder Harawa.

The audience murmured, eyes wide open.

"Young man." Harawa, like an elder suppressing grief, pleaded earnestly, "May I take Yingnola?"

"Please, go ahead."

Lei En stepped back a few paces.

"Thank you." Harawa's face showed gratitude, and he swiftly raised his hand, gesturing through the air to seize Yingnola's corpse, which floated, followed him through a portal, and returned to the tower.

Then, he produced a scroll.

The scroll appeared ordinary, written on plain parchment, yet the sealing ink was a golden‑like crystal, emitting a faint, unique vibration.

Lei En's gaze shifted slightly, but he did not move to stop it.

Harawa tore open the scroll without hesitation; instantly, a vast divine power aura spread, and the tens of thousands of spectators in the arena felt the great life force, their hearts becoming calm and peaceful.

This is the power of the Mother Earth Goddess!

"Resurrection Technique!"

"Nine Ring Divine Technique—Complete Resurrection Technique!"

Thousands of spectators gasped; many stood up to glance at the western tower, and saw that after the scroll was torn, a holy beam descended, merging into Yingnola's corpse.

The massive life force suddenly contracted, repairing the fatal wound in Yingnola's heart, while a law belonging only to divine authority—unfathomable to mortals—forced her soul back from the void into her body; her soul power, willpower, and memories were fully restored.

After a few seconds, Yingnola's eyelashes fluttered, and she opened her eyes.

She stood up, looking somewhat bewildered.

Then she saw Elder Harawa standing before her; the two female Wizard students rushed up, hugging her, exclaiming joyfully, "Teacher, you're revived!"

"What's happening?"

Ying Nuola was still dazed; her last memory was Lei En's claw shattering a shield and piercing her heart. Several students chattered, telling her what happened after death.

"Resurrection Scroll!"

Ying Nuola suddenly understood, looked at Harawa and gratefully said, "Elder Harawa..."

Harawa calmly shook his head, as if he had done something trivial.

As the Nai Se Wizards were thrilled, the audience was stunned.

The dead's rebirth, known as the Rebirth Technique, is repeatedly recorded in Ai Lun E Si's history. It is a Seven Ring Divine Technique, but it has many restrictions. The corpse to be revived must be intact and unrotted; if cursed or missing body parts, it cannot be revived.

Moreover, after resurrection the power drops one rank, and memories may be incomplete.

Even so, casters who can wield the Rebirth Technique are extremely rare; this Divine Technique can only be granted by deities who govern life domains.

Apart from the Earth Mother, other deities possessing resurrection power are few.

And the Nine Ring Complete Resurrection Technique is even rarer.

It's also more domineering!

As long as the dead has been dead for no more than two hundred years and did not die of natural lifespan, regardless of cause—severe injury, decapitation, poison, curse, magical death, fire, lightning, the corpse shattered to ash, or turned into a mummy or undead skeleton—if even a single hair or speck of ash remains, a body can be conjured from nothing. Whether the soul is feasting in Heaven, battling in the Abyss, or reincarnated many times, it will be forcibly pulled back and revived on the spot.

The revived being will return to its peak state from life.

Usually only the Earth Church's Life Divine Envoy, i. e., a priest of Level 20 or higher, may be granted the Complete Resurrection Technique by the Earth Mother.

It is possible, but not guaranteed.

The cost for a Life Divine Envoy to cast the Complete Resurrection Technique is steep: one casting reduces power by one rank.

A Complete Resurrection Scroll forged by a Life Divine Envoy at the price of demotion is so valuable it defies monetary measure, comparable to Legend Grade equipment.

In critical moments, it is even more precious than Legend Grade gear.

"Elder Harawa is truly generous!"

The entire arena boiled over, the spectators gasped repeatedly, and even Lei En was amazed by Harawa's grand gesture.

Ying Nuola was moved to the point her spirit trembled.

She knew well that Elder Harawa could have kept the scroll for himself, or chosen to revive Elder Kui Tu, yet he ultimately revived herself.

"Ying Nuola," Elder Harawa said seriously, "take good care of them."

Harawa's eyes were full of compassion; he had watched Ying Nuola grow from a naive girl into a legendary Arcane mage. Though both were members of the Nai Se Elders' Council and equal in rank, in practice they resembled master‑student, even father‑daughter.

Ying Nuola realized what he intended, nodded and replied, "I will."

Then she cautiously added, "Elder, be careful not to use the Rainbow Light Spell on him; he is completely immune."

"I understand," Harawa gave a slight nod.

The audience below was startled by their conversation.

The Nai Se Wizards also understood, their faces turning pale, urging, "Elder Harawa, don't go down, don't fall for his trick."

Another Elder Kesi Naide also shook his head to dissuade.

Now everyone had witnessed Lei En's terrifying power, having slain two Nai Se Elders, cementing the title of unrivaled under the Holy Soul. Even though Elder Harawa's strength is great and he could vie for first in the Elders' Council, no one believed he could defeat Lei En.

If Harawa entered the field, his chance of returning alive would be slim.

"I must go," Harawa raised his hand, halting the crowd's pleas, his face calm as he said, "The reputation of Nai Se must not be tarnished. If I do not step forward today, this disgrace will shadow every Nai Se Wizard's life. Failure is not frightening, but I cannot accept surrender."

"With my life, I will cleanse the name of cowardice for you."

Harawa declared with resonant force.

He appeared about fifty, though his true age exceeded seven hundred; his features were plain, his black eyes clear and bright, unmarred by time. Standing over two meters yet not bulky, his magical robe hung loosely, many parts empty, rendering him gaunt.

Yet at that moment, the Nai Se Wizards felt Elder Harawa's body was solid and broad; many had reddened eyes, whispering sobs, tears about to fall.

"No crying allowed."

Harawa sternly rebuked, "Nai Se has no cowards."

After speaking, he flew resolutely from the tower, passing through the protective shield and landing inside the arena.

Tens of thousands of spectators heard the words, and they grew to respect this wizard who had been at a Legendary Peak for centuries. Previously, Lei En's provocation had largely erased the negative impression of Nai Se, ending the extreme mockery.

Lei En muttered admiringly, "Impressive."

This Nai Se elder, truly a seven‑hundred‑year‑old veteran, used an Amplification Technique with a few words, even resorted to a Complete Resurrection Scroll to revive Ying Nuola, displaying generosity that instantly flipped the audience's negative view of Nai Se.

He felt as if he had become a major villain.

With this shift, Weizelan's gain in reputation and momentum this time would be discounted.

Harawa flew into the arena, not entering the red circle a hundred meters away, but landing a few steps before Lei En, raising his hand to cast a Soundproof Force Field.

Lei En raised an eyebrow, somewhat surprised.

"Young one," Harawa assessed Lei En, a hazy magical glow covering his mouth so lip‑reading was impossible, and whispered, "Nai Se has never offended Weizelan; it's merely a clash of ideas, not a life‑or‑death foe. Your provocation, relentlessly tarnishing Nai Se's name, what is its purpose?"

"You don't know?" Lei En probed back.

"What do I know?" Harawa sounded bewildered, hesitated, stared pensively for a few seconds, then in a deep voice said, "Your goal is…"

He did not continue, his expression suddenly frozen.

Then, as if recalling many things, his complexion shifted—astonishment, shock, bewilderment, deep confusion—his chest rose and fell erratically, and only after half a minute did he regain composure.

Lei En continuously observed with his Soul Eye.

From Harawa's reaction, he likely knew nothing of the inside, yet as one of the Nai Se Elders stationed at Fu Kong Cheng for centuries, he must have sensed some irregularities.

"Elder Harawa, what do you know?" Lei En asked again.

"I…" Harawa's voice grew hoarse, about to press for truth but cut off.

He feared hearing the answer.

After a long struggle, Harawa finally steadied his mind, as if resolved, and pointedly said, "I don't care what you know or what purpose you have; the reputation of Nai Se's Fu Kong Cheng must never be ruined. You cannot, Master Anxi cannot, O… no one can!"

Lei En was greatly surprised; despite the opponent clearly having guessed some truth, he still insisted on dueling him.

Obviously, Elder Halawa is a target that can be won over.

He kindly advised: "Don't you still have a second complete resurrection scroll?"

"No." Halawa firmly denied.

"Then why do you still want to duel me?" Lei En didn't understand.

"These are two different matters." Halawa snorted coldly, paused, then said: "If I don't act, Yingnuola will already be resurrected, only Kuitu will have died, which probably won't achieve your goal."

Lei En's heart suddenly dawned, this was cooperating with his plan; he gave a slight bow:

"Please."

Halawa arrogantly said: "In a magic duel, life or death doesn't matter; you needn't hold back, and likewise I won't hold back against you."

He withdrew the Soundproof Force Field, blinked into the opposite red circle.

A transparent light curtain rose in the middle, dividing the arena in half; huge numbers appeared above and began counting down.

Lei En's Mirror Image ended just then; the five mirror images dissipated simultaneously, and he must wait an hour before using it again.

Meanwhile, on the opposite side, Halawa's massive soul power surged forth, eliciting shocked cries from the audience.
