Chapter 371: Revenge Journey (5/5, Autumn Subscription)

~7 min read 1,264 words

After being rejected by Fang Yue, Qiu Dugu said nothing more, only instructed Fang Yue to clean it up neatly and not make a big fuss, otherwise the Alliance would have a hard time covering it up.

Fang Yue naturally nodded repeatedly with his mouth, but how he actually handled it was entirely up to his own discretion.

After Qiu Dugu left, Fang Yue took the files and found Bai Xiaoya still in training.

"What's wrong?"

Bai Xiaoya asked, puzzled.

But after Fang Yue showed her the files, her pupils instantly contracted sharply, and her expression turned grim.

"... Let's go! Let's find him and settle accounts right now!"

The files had already confirmed that the explosion was carried out by Bai Su'e—there was nothing left to say; a killer must be ready to be killed.

Bai Xiaoya clenched her tiny fists, silently went to her room, retrieved a bone spear, and prepared for battle.

But Fang Yue told her to get a bulletproof vest first.

Fang Yue wasn't afraid of these firearms; after Synchronizing, conventional firearms couldn't affect him at all.

But Bai Xiaoya was different—she was flesh and blood, with ordinary human physical stats and reaction speed.

Add to that, this was Bai Su'e's hiding place—extremely dangerous.

Unless Bai Xiaoya could guarantee her own safety, Fang Yue wouldn't let her go out.

Under Fang Yue's insistence, Bai Xiaoya finally put on a bulletproof vest and carried a small handgun.

Riding a helicopter, they headed straight for A Qu.

Qingshui District was internally divided into ten zones—A through E and more—each corresponding to one combat team. Each team was responsible for one zone.

Fang Yue was now leading people into another zone—this was an overreach of authority.

But this time, the two of them were here for personal business; they didn't even need to notify A Qu's combat team.

The helicopter moved quickly.

After just over ten minutes, they landed on the roof of a building.

The helicopter buzzed away; Fang Yue and Bai Xiaoya took the elevator down, then rode a taxi for a short distance, arriving at the entrance of an abandoned underground garage.

"This is it?" Bai Xiaoya's voice was calm, but her slightly trembling hands betrayed her inner turmoil.

Bai Su'e was truly wicked beyond redemption.

But Bai Su'e was, in truth, Bai Xiaoya's father.

Fang Yue doubted whether Bai Xiaoya could bring herself to kill Bai Su'e.

But it didn't matter—he was here; Bai Su'e was dead today, no doubt about it!

Enter the abandoned underground garage, locate the hidden door switch shown in the files.

Creak—creak—

The car parked in the spot, covered in dust, slowly sank downward, and then a spiral staircase descending below emerged.

"I go first, you follow behind—call out if anything happens."

After instructing Bai Xiaoya, she merely nodded silently.

As they drew closer to Bai Su'e's hiding place, Bai Xiaoya's emotions became increasingly visible.

"Bai Xiaoya?"

"?"

"Go back upstairs—I'll handle Bai Su'e alone."

"... No! I must see him die with my own eyes to truly end this!" Bai Xiaoya said, eyes red.

Seeing he couldn't persuade her, Fang Yue stopped pressing.

The stairs ended quickly, revealing a lavishly decorated door; from inside came the thumping beat of DJ music.

Fang Yue gave Bai Xiaoya a glance, then kicked the door open with one foot.

Boom!

The two-meter-tall door, kicked by Fang Yue after Synchronizing, flew straight into the room.

As luck would have it, the door smashed directly into the DJ's table, and the furious music instantly cut off.

Everyone inside the underground bar turned their heads sharply toward the entrance.

Seeing Fang Yue kick the massive door clean off its hinges, each person froze for a moment.

"Who are you?"

"Where did this brat come from?"

"If you know the place, you know the rules! Causing trouble on our turf—you wanna die?"

The bouncers charged forward, big, muscular, shirtless, and terrifyingly aggressive.

But as they drew near, Bai Xiaoya stepped forward expressionlessly and drove her bone spear straight through the first man's neck.

She yanked back—the man clutched his throat, collapsed to his knees, twitched twice, then went still.

Everyone else froze.

They'd seen fierce people, but never this fierce.

Meeting someone meant killing them—no one could stand that.

The men who had just been shouting now retreated step by step, but Bai Xiaoya chased them down, one by one, each pierced by a bone spear, sent straight to death.

More people surged out from inside—this time armed.

Fang Yue lifted his eyelids slightly, grabbed Bai Xiaoya's hand.

"Let's go!"

Fang Yue moved—everyone else saw only a blur; Fang Yue and Bai Xiaoya vanished from sight.

In reality, the two of them had already rushed straight into the innermost, most secure room of the underground bar.

That room had an elegant name: Xuanwu Jin Jian.

The meaning was also quite straightforward — this room was as solid as a Xuanwu turtle's shell, impregnable as a wall of bronze.

The walls of the room were all built to the material specifications of a bank vault; the degree of solidity was self-evident.

Moreover, it was equipped with extremely high-strength security measures — it could only be opened from the inside, and absolutely could not be opened from the outside.

As for breaking the room open by brute force, that was even more impossible.

At this moment, inside the Xuanwu Jin Jian, sat a person — a middle-aged man.

He was staring at the enormous surveillance screen before him, lost in thought.

On the screen was, unmistakably, the scene of Fang Yue and Bai Xiaoya breaking into the underground bar just moments ago.

Then, after a short while, Bai Xiaoya struck and killed someone, and immediately afterward the two of them vanished from the surveillance feed.

The middle-aged man froze for a beat, then continued, puzzled, to check the footage from the other surveillance cameras.

But he saw nothing — he couldn't find any trace of Fang Yue and the other person anywhere.

"Could it be…"

The middle-aged man's heart gave a sudden lurch. He pulled up the original surveillance footage, then played it in slow motion — two-times slow, ten-times slow.

When he pushed the camera's slow-motion speed to its limit, he could just barely make out, in the surveillance frame, a blurred human figure trailing an afterimage as it left the screen.

"What kind of speed is that?!"

The middle-aged man's eyes went wide, his face full of disbelief.

And when he applied the same slow-motion treatment to the other surveillance feeds, he finally managed to judge, from the frequency and direction of that dark figure's appearances across the screens, an approximate destination.

Then the middle-aged man abruptly stood up, a cold sweat breaking out across his back.

Because according to what these surveillance feeds showed, the direction those two people were now charging toward was unmistakably his very own Xuanwu Jin Jian!

"Xiaoya… you've really found yourself quite the backer!"

The middle-aged man — Bai Su'e — narrowed his eyes.

"But this is the safest Safe House among all my facilities! As long as I don't want to open the door, no one can…"

Boom!!!

The thick, bank-vault-grade steel door flashed past Bai Su'e's eyes.

The violent gust of wind only now came howling in to slap his cheeks.

The thought in his mind cut off short. Bai Su'e stood stunned, and slowly, in shock, turned his head to look toward the doorway.

Standing there were unmistakably his illegitimate daughter Bai Xiaoya, and the stranger Fang Yue!
