Chapter 90: Under Heaven, All Martial Arts Shatter the Unbreakable — Only Speed Is Unbreakable

~7 min read 1,316 words

Bai Xiaoya fell silent. She looked at Fang Yue calmly, her brows slowly furrowing.

She felt that the man before her seemed to have undergone some subtle change — more confident, more daring.

That was a good thing. A man ought to be confident and daring.

But if this man had originally been a slovenly, perverted sort, and now had become even more confident and daring...

Undoubtedly, that was a very bad sign.

So she rose.

"Mr. Fang, I don't know what's wrong with you, but I think we'd better keep our distance from now on. Also, I'm leaving — you shouldn't need me to keep sitting here."

"Makes sense! I think that's a fine suggestion too."

Fang Yue didn't stop her, only saying: "Just promise me you won't go home within half an hour."

"Ridiculous!"

Bai Xiaoya seemed a little angry and walked faster.

Perhaps sensing Fang Yue's unwelcoming attitude, or perhaps feeling disgusted.

She truly didn't head toward home, but instead walked toward the outside of the residential compound.

Once she was out of the compound, she glanced back and saw that Fang Yue really hadn't followed. Only then did she murmur to herself with a slightly dim expression: "It's not like I wanted to come stay at this Safe House in the first place..."

As if remembering something, Bai Xiaoya touched her chest.

It couldn't be seen from the outside, but inside, pressed against her chest, hung a Green Jade Pendant.

"Why did Father give something this important to me... what a hassle."

Perhaps influenced by Fang Yue's words, Bai Xiaoya walked and walked and somehow ended up at a rather secluded park.

She glanced left and right and saw that though the park was secluded, many people were sitting there.

Bai Xiaoya paid no heed and went straight into the park.

Yet those passersby — some sitting on benches, some walking — suddenly, in unison, either stood up or changed direction, all falling in behind Bai Xiaoya.

One of them, a man in a suit, strode quickly toward Bai Xiaoya, his hand slipping into his pocket.

When he reached behind Bai Xiaoya, the hand inside the suit man's pocket whipped out — whoosh — and was placed right next to her ear.

It was... a black phone.

The phone was connected, and a deep voice came through.

"... Xiaoya, go back!"

Bai Xiaoya's brow creased slightly: "Father, I don't want to live there."

"Go back to the Safe House! Listen to me — it's not safe out there!"

"I don't..."

Before Bai Xiaoya could finish, a piercing scream suddenly rang out from behind.

"Aaah!!!"

What was going on?!

The suit man who had been following Bai Xiaoya's expression changed, and at the same time an anxious voice came through the phone.

"What's happening?! A Ming, protect Xiaoya!"

"Yes! A Ming will protect the young lady with his dying breath!"

Saying so, A Ming looked toward the rear — toward the park's entrance — while pulling out the walkie-talkie at his waist.

"A Kun, what's the situation at the park entrance?"

"Brother Ming, a person! Just one person!"

"One person? An assassin?"

"N-no... don't know. Black blood is streaming from both his eyes! Like he's blind, but he kills without blinking! Several brothers are already down!"

Black blood? Blind? Lunatic?

A Ming's face darkened as he said: "Since he's already started killing our men, no need for courtesy! Get your weapons and take him out!"

"Firing guns here... isn't that a bit inappropriate?"

"I mean knives!"

"Oh, oh..."

As he spoke, shouts of attack soon came from the other end of the walkie-talkie, followed by screams and the sounds of bodies hitting the ground.

A Ming kept pressing for updates, only to find the walkie-talkie suddenly go quiet — only footsteps, far then near, near then far.

Then A Ming saw it.

Ahead, under a dim park streetlamp, a middle-aged man with black blood streaming from both eyes and a stumbling gait was walking toward them step by step.

"Brother Ming!"

"Brother Ming!"

As the black-blooded middle-aged man drew closer, A Ming's subordinates — who had been posing as passersby — closed in one after another. At a glance, there were at least fifty or sixty of them.

One of them said in a low voice: "Brother Ming, I'll take him."

A Ming looked — and the man was none other than Ping Nan, a capable assistant he had personally trained.

Ping Nan was all muscle, and had inherited A Ming's personal fighting techniques. Without firearms, virtually no one was his match.

A Ming gave a slight nod, shielding the somewhat flustered Bai Xiaoya as he retreated, while Ping Nan let out a great roar, drew the short blade hidden on his person, and charged.

"Dare to assassinate our young lady — die!!!"

Ping Nan roared as he charged the black-blooded middle-aged man, but the man showed no reaction.

Not until Ping Nan was upon him did the black-blooded middle-aged man suddenly move.

Still as stone one moment, terrifyingly swift the next!

No one even saw how the black-blood middle-aged man made his move—before they knew it, Ping Nan's short blade had left his hand, and he was screaming as he flew backward, skidding over ten meters across the ground before landing next to A Ming and the others.

"Hiss—"

The crowd couldn't help but suck in a cold breath.

"Nan-ge!"

"A-Nan!"

"H-he's dead?!"

One look told them Ping Nan's chest had almost caved in, black blood kept bubbling from his mouth, and the man had long since stopped breathing.

One move—instant kill?

The crowd looked up at the black-blood middle-aged man, who was walking toward them step by step, their eyes filled with terror.

"Draw your guns! Get your weapons out!"

A Ming forced down his fear and roared.

No matter how high your martial arts, you still fear a cleaver!

Who cares how strong your fighting skills are—can they beat firearms?

Sir, times have changed!

A Ming snorted coldly, drew his pistol along with the others, and gave the order.

Bang Bang Bang!

Instantly, the crack of gunfire echoed through the park.

Over fifty pistols sprayed at the black-blood middle-aged man, battering him so badly he kept staggering.

But... he wasn't dead!

The black-blood middle-aged man even walked forward step by step under the rain of bullets.

"How is that possible?!"

A Ming's face went pale with shock, and the others goggled just as wide, unable to believe it.

With so many guns firing, even an iron man should be scrap! H-he's actually fine?!

While everyone was still stunned, they saw the black-blood middle-aged man suddenly lift a foot.

The next instant, his figure blurred—and in a flash, like teleportation, he appeared right in front of them.

One hand rose, one punch thrown.

The brother in front screamed, slammed into three or five behind him, and they all went flying—already lifeless before they hit the ground.

What kind of speed was that?!

At this moment A Ming truly panicked, truly felt fear!

Ignoring the anxious questions from his boss coming through the phone, he grabbed Bai Xiaoya, whose face showed fear, and bolted backward.

"Hold him back! I'll get the young lady out of here!"

He had a car parked outside—once they got inside, they could escape with their lives!

"Yes, sir!"

"Protect the young lady!"

"Listen to Ming-ge!"

"Ming-ge, I'm entrusting my wife and kids to you!"

The others instantly understood what A Ming meant and, shouting, charged in to entangle the black-blood middle-aged man.

A Ming etched his brothers' final words in his heart, and while sprinting, roared: "Brothers in this life, brothers in the next!"

"Ming-ge!"

"Fighting to the death for Ming-ge is my honor!"

"Ming-ge!"
