Chapter 150: Area Re-planning

Li Qingxuan carefully examined all the information of Guangtan Fortress, pondering the subsequent development plans in his mind.

He said to Li Feifei: "After this upgrade, our fortress's strength has increased greatly. However, the material requirements in the upgrade conditions are growing more and more; we will have to work harder to gather them later."

Li Feifei nodded and said: "Yes, as long as we all work together, there will be no problem. Moreover, the fortress's range has expanded now, so we can better plan each area."

Li Qingxuan agreed: "That's right, look at this floor plan; we can divide the breeding area and living area more reasonably. Place the breeding area in a relatively inner part of the fortress—this is both safe and convenient to manage. The living area can be expanded a bit more, letting everyone live more comfortably."

"Let's hold a meeting in a while; everyone can discuss and then adjust the fortress's layout." Li Qingxuan pulled Li Feifei's hand, walking toward the fortress while speaking.

Looking around, the originally slightly cramped space inside the fortress instantly became spacious.

The fortress's occupied area also doubled; the storage room specially for storing supplies definitely doubled in size as well, able to hold more items, even a lot more upgrade materials can fit.

The increase in protection value made the two feel relieved; previously, when facing attacks from some powerful weird creatures, they would worry whether the fortress could withstand it, but now the protection value has doubled, the fortress is like an impregnable iron barrel, providing more reliable security.

Moreover, after the fortress's rune effect was strengthened, the earth affinity trait made its self-repair ability faster; even if it suffered some relatively severe structural damage, it could recover to its original state in a short time.

The energy resistance trait made the weakening effect against mid- and low-level attacks more obvious; attacks that once could pose a certain threat to the fortress now feel like tickling when they hit it.

Li Qingxuan looked at the upgraded fortress, his heart full of accomplishment, he turned to Li Feifei and said: "This upgrade was too successful; our fortress can now be said to be as solid as gold and boiling soup."

Li Feifei smiled and nodded: "Yes, this is the result of everyone's joint effort, and now that the space is larger, we can raise some other livestock according to our previous plan."

The two exchanged smiles, full of anticipation for the fortress's future.

However, after seeing half of the fortress protrude into the misty shrouded area, Li Qingxuan frowned slightly and said: "Although the fortress's strength has greatly increased after the upgrade, this part that protrudes into the misty shrouded area is still too obvious; we must upgrade the mist array disk."

Li Feifei nodded in agreement: "That's right, we cannot let our fortress be exposed. I'll go gather everyone later to discuss it."

During the fortress's upgrade, everyone had already been standing in the open space in front of the fortress; Li Qingxuan and Li Feifei led the crowd into the fortress.

After everyone was seated, Li Qingxuan lightly coughed twice, and all eyes turned to him: "After our fortress's upgrade, its defensive capability has greatly increased, but it has also revealed some problems. Currently, half of the fortress protrudes into the misty shrouded area, which undoubtedly puts us in danger. Therefore, we will next upgrade the mist array disk; only after upgrading the mist array disk can we better conceal the fortress and ensure everyone's safety. Additionally, we can adjust the layout inside the fortress, re-divide the areas, and everyone can propose suggestions."

"Cough cough... Let me first share my idea. Originally, only two greenhouses could fit behind the fortress, but now that the area has expanded, we can consider placing the breeding field next to the greenhouses. This would be convenient for feeding the bred livestock, and we could directly use the greenhouse's spirit spring water to provide water for the animals, which would greatly reduce the workload." Li Feifei was the first to stand up and say.

Zhao Ling'er then said: "I think we can erect another city wall outside the existing city wall, thus forming an inner city and outer city. The inner city would be for residence and storing important supplies, while the outer city could serve as a buffer zone; if enemies attack, we would have an extra line of defense. Moreover, the outer city could also be divided into an area for a training ground, facilitating daily training for everyone."

Wang Hongmei said after hearing: "I think that's fine. Placing the breeding field and greenhouse behind the fortress would guarantee our food supply; erecting another city wall would both increase our activity space and serve as a buffer zone. Moreover, the icefield demon wolves and icefield demon bear cubs could also be protected within it—achieving three benefits at once."

Chen Xiulan also spoke actively: "Everything you said is great; I raise both hands in approval."

Li Jing rubbed her chin and said: "Regarding the upgrade of the mist array disk, we can directly use an upgrade scroll. Does the four seasons jade plate need to be upgraded?"

After listening, Li Qingxuan pondered for a moment and said: "The four seasons jade plate currently mainly regulates the climate inside the fortress, making our life more comfortable, but it helps little with defense. For now, we won't upgrade it; we'll first focus our efforts on upgrading the mist array disk. When we have plenty of upgrade scrolls later, we can consider upgrading the four seasons jade plate as well."

Everyone spoke up one after another, offering their suggestions; Li Qingxuan listened attentively, occasionally nodding to show approval.

After everyone had spoken roughly, Li Qingxuan stood up and said: "Everyone's suggestions are excellent and valuable. Then we will adjust the fortress's layout and upgrade the mist array disk according to these ideas. Next, we will divide tasks and cooperate, striving to complete these tasks as soon as possible, making our fortress even safer and more comfortable."

Upon hearing this, everyone nodded in agreement.

Li Qingxuan looked at everyone actively speaking, feeling greatly relieved, and said: "Everyone's suggestions are excellent and valuable. Then we will adjust the fortress's layout according to these ideas."

Li Feifei's eyes sparkled, and she said: "Then let's adjust the layout right away."

Thus, the two first established the breeding field, then began operating on the floor plan, re-planning each area.

As they confirmed the adjustments, the fortress's layout began to change rapidly; the previously unreasonable spots gradually became orderly.

The chickens, ducks, and geese that originally ran around everywhere were gathered and driven to the newly built breeding field, which was enclosed with stone walls and had nests built inside.

Besides the two greenhouses and the breeding field, a plot of 1250 square meters of land was left unused; its purpose has not yet been decided, nothing has been built on it, and it is kept as a reserve.

After the layout adjustment was completed, Li Qingxuan and Li Feifei looked at the completely renewed fortress, their hearts filled with a sense of accomplishment.

Li Qingxuan said: "Now the fortress looks more like a warm family. From now on, we will continue to strive, making the fortress better and better."

Li Feifei smiled and said: "It will surely be so; with you here, our fortress will definitely become stronger and stronger."

At this moment, the people inside the fortress also noticed its changes, gathering around to look at the neat and orderly layout, all showing expressions of surprise and delight.

Chen Xiulan exclaimed: "Wow, the fortress has become so clean; living there will definitely be more comfortable from now on."

Wang Hongmei also said: "Yes, from now on, doing things will be more convenient."

Li Qingxuan looked at everyone's happy appearance and said: "This is the result of everyone's joint effort; from now on, we will continue to work together in unity, building the fortress to be even more prosperous."
