Fortunately, Li Qingxuan had already moved far away, and the Ghoul did not follow the scent; after withdrawing his gaze, it continued to wander around the treasure chest.

Li Qingxuan continued to observe while searching for supplies, and soon found a wooden treasure chest.

Opening the chest, the control panel popped up a prompt: obtained two bread, one bottle of mineral water, and three spirit fruit. After the chest disappeared, Li Qingxuan quickly opened the control panel to check.

【Item: Spirit Fruit】

【Effect: Constitution+3】

【Description: A fruit that absorbs the essence of the sun and moon, it can increase Constitution; when Constitution exceeds 20, consumption has no effect.】

"When my Constitution reaches twenty, if I find another spirit fruit I'll save it for Mother and my sister, hehe," Li Qingxuan muttered softly.

After eating all three fruits, the control panel prompted a Constitution increase of 9 points.

【Name: Li Qingxuan】

【Age: 24】

【Gender: Male】

【Constitution: 15】

【Spirit: 7】 (average adult value is 5)

【Occupation: Weird Master】

【Abilities: Weird Encyclopedia, Domination, Explore】

【Evaluation: An ordinary and somewhat handsome man; if he doesn't grow quickly, he might die in the next second.】

"Seeing the evaluation still 'ordinary,' Li Qingxuan was speechless: 'When will there be some change? But now I should be able to deal with the Ghoul.'"

Li Qingxuan checked the time; the Night Countdown had less than three hours left, so he headed toward the direction he remembered the Ghoul being.

After spotting the Ghoul, Li Qingxuan, holding an axe, picked up a stone from the ground and threw it at the Ghoul.

"Bang!" The stone struck the Ghoul's head precisely; "Nice throw, hehe, get ready to die!"

The Ghoul rushed toward Li Qingxuan.

"Oh no, I've never killed a monster before! Well, desperate times call for desperate measures; there's always a way when the car reaches the mountain."

Li Qingxuan steadied his stance, his eyes locked on the Ghoul's ever-approaching silhouette; he gripped the axe handle tighter, the Ghoul, like a phantom, lunged to his side, its claws like blades aiming straight for his throat; Li Qingxuan flickered, dodging to the right, while tightening his grip on the axe and bringing it down hard on the Ghoul's head.

The Ghoul suddenly turned, blocking with its left arm; the axe struck, cutting a gash on the arm, but was stopped by the hard bone.

"The Ghoul's right claw lashed out like lightning toward Li Qingxuan; he quickly withdrew the axe and stepped back hastily, thinking to himself: 'This bone is absurdly hard; I can't clash head-on, I need a clever plan.'"

Li Qingxuan made up his mind, turned, and ran backward.

Li Qingxuan, sharp-eyed, spotted a thick tree, sprinted to it, hid sideways behind the trunk, planning to launch a fatal strike from the blind spot.

As soon as the Ghoul's head appeared, Li Qingxuan abruptly raised his axe and swung hard at its head.

"Thud," the axe slammed into the Ghoul's head; Li Qingxuan pressed on, striking repeatedly until the Ghoul collapsed with a crash, then he released the axe and slumped to the ground.

The Ghoul whooshed, turning into a flash of white light that vanished on the spot; the control panel prompted Constitution +6.

"I gained half the Ghoul's Constitution but not its Spirit; is it because its type is Flesh Type?" Li Qingxuan rubbed his chin, puzzled.

【World Announcement: Congratulations Li Qingxuan for being the first to slay a Weird Creature, reward: Golden Treasure Chest +1】

Three World Announcements echoed in his mind; Li Qingxuan felt a surge of joy: 'I didn't expect a reward—first step, always ahead; I really am the best, but I mustn't get arrogant, I need to stay in the first echelon.'

At the same time, Li Qingxuan sensed that the Weird Encyclopedia had recorded the Ghoul; he hurriedly opened it and saw a card displaying the Ghoul's portrait.

【Weird Creature: Ghoul】

【Type: Flesh Type】

【Ability: Eat Corpse】

【Domination Capacity: 0】

【Description: A low-tier Weird Creature that rapidly grows by consuming large amounts of other creatures' flesh; cannibalism among its kind greatly boosts its growth speed.】

"If I can dominate Weird Creatures, and there's no better option, I'll dominate it—use it to scout the path, etc.; that should be pretty good," Li Qingxuan chuckled.

Li Qingxuan had been sitting on the ground for only a short while when he heard two more World Announcements.

【World Announcement: Congratulations Evelyn for being the second to slay a Weird Creature, reward: Silver Treasure Chest +1】

【World Announcement: Congratulations Ivanov for being the third to slay a Weird Creature, reward: Black Iron Treasure Chest +1】

At that moment, on the wilderness several li away from Li Qingxuan, the sturdy Ivanov, built like an iron tower, glared angrily, snatched up the black iron treasure chest guarded by the monster, and strode swiftly across the rocky ground toward his next target.

"Ivanov was just a step away from being second; I don't know what occupations the two of them have awakened, but indeed this world is not lacking hidden talents. When I get back, I'll see what goodies the treasure chest can yield; for now, let's get to work."

Li Qingxuan's stomach growled twice in protest; he wryly pulled out a bread from his backpack and wolfed it down with the cold mineral water.

He brushed off the dust on his pant legs, bent to pick up the dirt-covered axe, turned, and stowed the heavy black iron treasure chest into his backpack.

He glanced at the time, realizing less than two hours remained until nightfall, so he quickened his pace, making rustling sounds as he stepped on the dry leaves, continuing to search for treasure chests.

While searching for treasure chests, Li Qingxuan also looked for signs of a river, but found nothing.

Whether it was because it was daytime or not, he encountered no other Weird Creatures along the way.

After finding two more wooden treasure chests, the Night Countdown showed less than an hour left; Li Qingxuan hurried toward the wooden house.

Upon entering the wooden house, Li Qingxuan checked the time and saw that only a dozen or so minutes remained before nightfall.

"Exhausted to the bone!" Li Qingxuan tossed the chest onto the ground, hands on his hips, panting heavily: "After all this trouble, just this junk—if I can't get anything decent out of it, I…" He suddenly deflated, giving a wry laugh as he scratched his messy hair.

Afterward, Li Qingxuan sat on the bed, took out the golden treasure chest, the black iron treasure chest, and the two wooden treasure chests from his backpack, rubbed his hands together, and prepared to open them.

After opening the two wooden treasure chests in succession, I obtained four bread and two bottles of water, three spirit fruit, two candles, and a lighter.

Afterwards, Li Qingxuan's gaze fell on the black iron treasure chest, 'This black iron treasure chest should yield some good stuff, right?'

After opening the black iron treasure chest, the control panel prompted acquisition of the fireplace blueprint, water purifier blueprint, black iron spear, and a quilt, and I hurriedly checked the information of the two blueprints on the control panel.

【Blueprint: Fireplace】

【Construction Conditions: Manufacturing Table, Stone Material 50】

【Description: Provides a warm environment for the shelter, helping you survive better】

【Blueprint: Water Purifier】

【Construction Conditions: Manufacturing Table, Stone Material 10, Filter Cotton 5, Activated Carbon 5, Plastic 5】

【Description: Can filter out clean water sources, helping you survive better】

【Item: Black Iron Spear】

【Durability: 60/60】

【Description: A 2.2-meter-long spear, the tip is sharp】

These two blueprints are not bad; building them will make life much more comfortable. I've seen Rotten Tomatoes, and this water purifier is absolutely a god-send early on, but we lack the materials and the manufacturing table now, so we need to hurry and solve it.

Li Qingxuan washed his hands with bottled water, drank the remaining water in one go, dried his hands, and walked to the golden treasure chest, 'We don't have the conditions for burning incense and purifying the body, bathing and changing clothes; washing hands will have to count as bathing and changing. May the heavens bless me, I must get gold.'

"Golden Legend!" Li Qingxuan shouted and then opened the golden treasure chest.
