Chapter 100: Do we really need to bombard with a hundred classic songs?

~7 min read 1,315 words

Jiang Cheng decided not to actively contact Yujie for these two days, and would talk about it later.

After putting that matter aside, Jiang Cheng came out of the office and went to the hall's office, which is the place for chef-level work.

There are three rows of workstations here, each with a dedicated computer.

Everything here is arranged by the property management, and also what Jiang Cheng encountered Su Bancheng when he previously came to rent the venue, and Su Bancheng promised.

Jiang Cheng saw Chu Siqi working with her head down, so he went to the back row, casually picked a workstation, and then turned on the computer.

Jiang Cheng's ideas for the studio's development are simple; the core principle is to take things step by step.

It's nothing more than songs and film/TV, plus building IP.

First, building IP—Jiang Cheng feels it's not yet the time to consider that.

Next is songs; in the music aspect, Jiang Cheng thinks it's much simpler: just write the songs and then find suitable people to sing them.

Even cultivating artists isn't necessary; as long as the songs are promoted and fans listen, the copyright held by the company leaves a large operational space later.

Next is the film/TV aspect.

Jiang Cheng feels the film/TV aspect is relatively more troublesome; after thinking it over roughly, there are several ways.

One way is for him to write a script, then find a director and production team to cooperate and shoot the work.

Another way is for him to get a script and have the company shoot it independently, but doing so would require high costs; even if they started with only low-budget films, the expenses would likely be in the millions or more, because later distribution channels must also be considered.

But these are matters for later.

What's more important now is to first get the script written.

Earlier Jiang Cheng wrote a God of Gambling script, intending to sell it to Li Qian Qian, but the deal was later canceled; however, the script is still in Jiang Cheng's hands.

However, the script is a simple version by Jiang Cheng; he plans to refine it a bit.

After having these plans, Jiang Cheng sat at the computer and began working with a clatter.

"Boss, our released works have gotten traffic!"

Jiang Cheng didn't know how long he had been working at the computer; his train of thought was interrupted by Chu Siqi's sudden loud speaking.

Raising his head, Jiang Cheng said somewhat discontentedly: "What's all the fuss? What's wrong?"

Ye Qing also ran out from the inner office.

Chu Siqi said, "The video we previously released now has 120,000 plays, 3,000 likes, and over 800 comments."

Upon hearing the 120,000 plays, Jiang Cheng felt a bit happy inside.

He usually doesn't post videos on these platforms, so he doesn't have a deep concept of what 120,000 plays means; it just sounded like a lot.

But upon hearing the 3,000 likes, Jiang Cheng lost interest.

Haven't posted or watched videos before? For videos that are somewhat better, others get tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of likes.

A video with only 3,000 likes is just too ordinary and unremarkable.

Ye Qing had actually been paying attention to the likes on her own works in the office, so the data Chu Siqi mentioned wasn't unfamiliar to her.

She had just heard Chu Siqi say the video had traffic, so she hurried out to see Jiang Cheng's reaction.

So she had been watching Jiang Cheng's expression all along just now.

When she saw that Jiang Cheng's face didn't show much joy, Ye Qing felt a little down in her heart.

She wondered if her singing was too bad, so after releasing it, the results didn't satisfy Jiang Cheng.

Jiang Cheng also saw Ye Qing come out, noticing Ye Qing and Chu Siqi looking at him. The atmosphere having come to this, Jiang Cheng put on a smile and said, "Not bad, keep it up!"

"Is that all?" Chu Siqi asked.

Jiang Cheng said: "Keep striving?"

"Tch." Chu Siqi snorted at Jiang Cheng, saying: "You basically don't care at all!"

After saying that, Chu Siqi turned away angrily and started clacking away at work again.

Ye Qing glanced at Jiang Cheng, seeing his eyes fixed on the computer screen.

She swallowed what she wanted to say and turned back to the office.

Jiang Cheng glanced sideways, saw Ye Qing leave, and Chu Siqi also ignored him, so he breathed a sigh of relief.

What Chu Siqi said was correct; regarding the current performance of the video they released, he really doesn't care at all.

Whether it becomes popular or not is not important for Jiang Chen, because he knows that as long as he is willing, the studio will definitely become popular; the only question is which step to start from.

Even exaggerating a bit, as long as he is willing, he could blast out dozens or even hundreds of classic songs at once! He could find a batch of music students from Modu University, each record one song, no need to go to a recording studio—just record and release directly.

He doesn't believe that with such results it could fail to become popular; if even this doesn't make it popular, that would be a huge letdown to that former civilization!

But doing that would surely provoke a big reaction, so Jiang Cheng feels he should proceed step by step; otherwise, suddenly blasting out dozens or hundreds of classics would surely bring many troubles.

Ding-ling-ling! At that moment the doorbell rang.

Because they are in the public office hall inside the office area, the studio's outside is a glass door that is normally closed, keeping outsiders out, mainly because there is no front desk.

So a doorbell was installed; if someone visits and presses the doorbell, people inside the studio can hear it.

Chu Siqi turned her head to look at Jiang Cheng, and Jiang Cheng also raised his head to look at Chu Siqi; their eyes met.

They locked eyes for three seconds.

Chu Siqi let out a cold snort: "I'll just open, I'm the evil capitalist."

After saying that, she hummed and hawed, got up, and walked toward the outside of the public office area to open the door.

Not long after, Jiang Cheng heard the voice of the person who came in.

The voice sounded somewhat familiar.

Soon Jiang Cheng saw the visitor; at the front was the property manager he had met before, followed by two property ladies.

"Jiang Zong, are you here?" the general manager said upon entering and seeing Jiang Cheng, greeting him.

"I have something I'd like to ask you to help with."

Jiang Cheng felt a bit unaccustomed to being called "Jiang Zong" by the other party, but didn't say much, stood up and said: "Just tell me what you need; I'll do my best if I can help."

He put a lot of effort into renovating his company's property; although he was also doing it for money, he might be stationed here for a long time, so if the property needs help with anything, Jiang Cheng is still willing.

Build good relations, and many things will be convenient later.

The general manager didn't first say anything; instead, he glanced over the office area, smiling, and asked Jiang Cheng: 'General Manager Jiang, are you still satisfied with the renovation here?'

Jiang Cheng nodded and said: 'Not bad.'

The general manager's smile stiffened a bit, thinking that Jiang Cheng is still quite different from those old slickers in society.

So he felt that in front of Jiang Cheng, doing this kind of superficial pleasantries actually seemed petty.

So he then directly said: 'I don't know if you're free this afternoon? I'd like to borrow your workspace for a bit.'
