Chapter 38: Isn't the little brother hard to handle?

~7 min read 1,300 words

Jiang Cheng was speechless; it's not like you're spoiled and pampered, so how can you still be so self-assured?

He picked up the floral water and tore open the packaging at the bottle's mouth.

"Hehe, just pour it on your hand, then rub it on the mosquito bite," Jiang Cheng said, handing the floral water to Su Manyao.

His gaze, sweeping from top to bottom at that moment, took in the wonderful scenery.

Unable to hold back, he blurted: "Forget it, I'll apply it for you."

He picked up the floral water and squatted down, only then realizing he might have been a bit too eager; but lifting his head, he saw Su Manyao pursing her lips and looking at him.

Yujie didn't refuse? This surprised Jiang Cheng—no refusal meant tacit agreement, right?

"Then it's too much trouble for you, I'm dying of the itch," Su Manyao said softly.

Her facial expression hardly changed, as if she were stating something completely ordinary.

Then she lifted one foot and stretched it toward Jiang Cheng.

Jiang Cheng:??? He instinctively reached out and grabbed it, feeling how soft it was.

Now closer, he could clearly see the bumps on Su Manyao's calf, showing slight signs of an allergic reaction.

He placed Su Manyao's fair jade foot on his knee, then opened the floral water's cap and poured some into his palm.

Then he applied it to Su Manyao's calf.

Su Manyao bared her teeth and inhaled a breath of cool air.

"What's wrong?" Jiang Cheng asked, raising his head.

"It's a little stinging," the aloof Yujie said softly, biting her lower lip.

"At first it really does hurt a bit, but after a while you'll get used to it and feel better," Jiang Cheng said.

"Then be gentler," Su Manyao said.

"Don't worry, leave it to me," Jiang Cheng said, nodding.

After coating both legs once, he switched legs when one was done.

After a round of alternating rubbing,

"Ah, wait a moment," Su Manyao suddenly called out.

"What's wrong?" Jiang Cheng asked, raising his head with a bewildered expression.

"There are no mosquito bites on my feet, so my toes don't need application," Su Manyao said in a clear, cold voice.

"You don't understand; this is 'preparing for a rainy day'—precisely because it hasn't been bitten yet, that's why we apply it. Do we really have to wait until it's bitten to apply?" Jiang Cheng said sternly.

After saying that, Jiang Cheng lowered his head and earnestly began to rub, not missing any detail.

Su Manyao rolled her eyes, unable to keep the smile from her lips.

Could she not know this big boy's intention? Thinking of this, she wiggled her vermilion-painted toes in his palm.

Her gaze fell on the fine layer of sweat appearing on the boy's forehead, and she suddenly thought it was rather interesting as well.

She recalled the song the boy had played selflessly in the crowd that afternoon.

What kind of person is he, after all?

Such a thought arose in Su Manyao's mind.

After several interactions with Jiang Cheng, sometimes she felt he was mature and steady, not like a boy his age; sometimes she felt he was clueless and dense, even more so than an naive youth.

As her thoughts wandered, her phone buzzed with vibration.

Su Manyao merely glanced at it, without picking it up.

"It's already applied, that's enough," Jiang Cheng said, raising his head.

"There's still this one that hasn't been applied," Su Manyao said, switching feet and placing the other on Jiang Cheng's hand.

"Won't you apply it yourself?" Jiang Cheng asked, pinching her jade foot in his palm and frowning.

"Alright, then I'll apply it myself," Su Manyao said with a carefree expression.

"Forget it," Jiang Cheng interrupted, picking up the floral water and saying: "You're all thumbs, you'll surely mess it up; let me do it!"

Su Manyao almost couldn't hold back her laughter, biting her lower lip, trying not to laugh out loud, as she watched Jiang Cheng earnestly start applying the floral water again.

She suddenly wanted to reach out and touch Jiang Cheng's hair, or cup his face and rub it—this little brother is just too adorable? Meanwhile, her own real brother had been cast to the back of her mind; at that moment he was in the room chatting gossip with Liu Tao and Deng Qi.

"You guys say Old Jiang has been out for so long—will he not come back tonight?"

"Whether he comes back or not, I'm envious—how did Old Jiang manage it, how did he snag the class monitor of the Music Department?" Deng Qi said.

Especially when thinking of daytime, seeing Su Manyao asleep leaning on Jiang Cheng's shoulder, then immediately hearing that Jiang Cheng had hugged the Music Department class monitor.

This really is the peak of life!

Deng Qi wouldn't even dare dream of that!

Liu Tao, however, was thinking: if Old Jiang really doesn't come back tonight, you'd better start calling him brother-in-law!

No!

Even if Old Jiang does come back tonight, you should still start calling him brother-in-law!

"I saw someone fishing at the reservoir nearby today; can we go fishing together tomorrow?" Su Peng continued.

"If we go fishing, it'll take a lot of time; aren't you going to look after your sister?" Liu Tao asked.

"Eh, isn't Jiang Cheng watching? With Old Jiang around, I'm reassured!" Su Peng said.

Liu Tao silently thought: "It's over. Jiang Cheng's side."

He only hates that these little feet are too small, but if they were too big he'd definitely not like them.

It was soon finished.

"Now it's all applied; tonight there shouldn't be any mosquitoes biting you," Jiang Cheng said, standing up and capping the floral water.

Su Manyao drew her legs up onto the sofa, drawing them together and curling to the side.

"Then you should rest early; I'll head back," Jiang Cheng said, glancing over and bending his waist slightly.

Su Manyao picked up her phone, nodded and said, "Mm."

She had little expression on her face, but the expressionless Su Mengyao is already the standard cold Yujie!

Jiang Cheng turned and walked toward the outside of the room door.

Su Manyao unlocked her phone lock screen; the front was a message from her best friend.

There were many lines on it.

"Do you want me to teach you how to develop feelings over time?"

"Hey hey hey, how did you suddenly disappear again?"

"Quickly, honestly confess, what did you go do?"

"No way, no way, has it already started?"

"Speak up, is it that your little boyfriend came, and how far have you progressed?"

"Speak!"

It's obvious Si Ling is very anxious! Su Manyao saw the message, a hint of arrogance appeared on her face, "Do I need you to teach me?"

"How far can it go, just a little brat; tease him a bit and his face turns red."

Su Manyao after sending the message saw Jiang Cheng already walked out of the room, closed the door.

She couldn't help but flip her hair.

"Although I've never been in a relationship, handling a younger brother like you is still easy, right?"

This idea just popped up, her smile still frozen on her face, then she saw Jiang Cheng who needed to return, turned back and came, standing at the doorway.

He was staring at her with fiery gaze! Su Manyao's heart shuddered; before she could speak, she saw Jiang Cheng pounce over like an unstoppable force.

Her red lips were met with warm pressure.

Su Mengyao was dazed, her head buzzing, a blank.

The feet curled up on the sofa suddenly tightened, clenched together.

She widened her eyes, full of disbelief! "Isn't a younger brother easy to handle?" (End of chapter)
