Chapter 55: It seems wrong, but I don't know where the mistake is
Seeing the cafeteria ahead, Su Manyao planned to have breakfast before returning to the company.
The male college students who glanced at him on the way were naturally ignored by him.
These guys might manage to flirt with girls, but if they tried to flirt with a professor, they could only stare enviously—pointless.
But nobody could be like Jiang Cheng, daring to shout at the professor to lift her skirt—mainly because the professor actually lifted her skirt, and he really dared to look!
"That guy is getting more and more overbearing!"
Su Manyao couldn't help but recall yesterday at the mountain villa, by the fence, he reached out again without her consent! Although she finally stopped him, that guy now seems utterly unafraid of her, taking advantage of her injured foot, under the pretense of saving lives, he did it again! His audacity keeps growing!
Thinking that, Su Manyao walked into the cafeteria.
Although it was breakfast time, the cafeteria wasn't crowded; she glanced over and instantly saw a familiar back.
Although it was just a back view, she could tell it was Jiang Cheng! Yet in front of him sat two female students!
Su Manyao then walked over to Jiang Cheng.
Many students having breakfast in the cafeteria noticed Yujie's arrival, looking at Yujie and then at the direction the assassin's gaze was pointing.
"Hey, look, Professor Su is coming—over there sitting seems to be Jiang Cheng!"
"What is Jiang Cheng up to? Is he hitting on girls?"
"Professor Su's complexion doesn't look good—does it feel like catching someone in an affair?"
"Isn't it obvious? Yesterday you didn't see it in the mountain villa, but Jiang Chen and Professor Su were embracing!"
"What the hell are you talking about? Someone actually hugged Professor Su!"
The two students who had just been gossiping were the ones who had come back from the mountain villa together yesterday; hearing an outsider ask, they immediately shut up and stopped talking.
Meanwhile, Chen Qian and Chu Siqi, who were sitting across from Jiang Cheng, stood up with their trays.
Chen Qian said, "Chengge, take your time, we're full."
After walking a distance, Chu Siqi suddenly turned back and said to Jiang Cheng, "Chengge, remember to bring your ID!"
After saying that, Chu Siqi winked at Jiang Cheng.
"All right." Jiang Cheng replied.
Suddenly he felt a chill on his back, his hairs standing up involuntarily, and he instinctively turned to look.
All he saw was Yujie standing behind him, arms crossed, staring at him coldly.
"Numb," "you and me."
Jiang Cheng didn't know what he had done wrong, but he just felt as if he had done something wrong.
After realizing, he inwardly cursed himself as a henpecked husband!
But before he could recover, Feng Yujie walked over and sat in the spot where Chu Siqi had just been.
"Now you need an ID to have breakfast—if I didn't bring mine, does that mean I can't eat?"
Su Mengyao looked at Jiang Cheng and said offhandedly,
Jiang Cheng's heart jolted—was Yujie jealous?
Having that thought, Jiang Cheng shuddered again, suddenly feeling the word 'shudder' was really vulgar, like Douyin.
"I want to start a studio, so I'm asking a friend to help me register." Jiang Cheng said seriously.
And what he said was indeed true.
Su Manyao, however, let out an oh with full Yujie flair, dragging out the tone.
That tone was like a divine child, lifting Jiang Cheng's heart.
"Your social circle is pretty wide, huh?" Su Manyao said, fiddling with her fingernails.
Jiang Cheng was stunned. Suddenly he realized that even if Yujie was aloof, she was still a woman, and her eating habits were no different from an ordinary woman's! The point of what he just said was the few words 'studio'; he also hoped that Yue Jie would interview him about what studio he was opening, then he could find an opening to get Yujie's help.
"But Yujie seemed to have only heard the two words: 'friend'."
Jiang Cheng felt embarrassed, not knowing what to say.
"You haven't had breakfast yet?"
"Wait a moment, I'll go get it for you."
Jiang Cheng cleverly changed the subject, turned around and went to get breakfast for Su Mengyao.
Along the way he muttered to himself, "Getting breakfast for my girlfriend isn't embarrassing—I'm not a henpecked husband!"
Su Manyao glanced back at Jiang Cheng's back, rolled her beautiful eyes, and said, "Little brat."
Watching Jiang Cheng fawn over her, she felt like laughing.
Actually, he hadn't been thinking about Jiang Cheng; just earlier, while having breakfast, he was with two other female students.
Everyone has friends; having breakfast with two classmates is perfectly normal—it's just that those two classmates happen to be girls.
Su Manyao herself didn't know why, despite not caring, she ended up acting as if she were looking for Jiang Cheng's fault.
"Holy shit, I heard people say that yesterday and still didn't believe it—could Jiang Cheng really be dating Professor Su?"
"Who is Jiang Cheng? I've never heard of him before—could this be a rumor? How could Professor Su date a student from Modu University?"
"Don't disbelieve it—look at them now, doesn't it look like a girl acting cute toward her boyfriend?"
"You're talking bullshit! Would a cold goddess like Professor Su ever act cute toward someone?"
Just as the discussing students finished speaking, they saw Jiang Cheng holding breakfast and placing it in front of Su Mengyao; Su Manyao raised her eyes, showing a hint of annoyance, but the corners of her mouth curled into a smile!
This is totally something only lovers would do!
Has Professor Su really started dating? Is the love interest a student from the Demon Clan University?
Something's off—take another look! …
"You said you had something you needed my help with—what is it?"
Su Manyao gladly accepted the breakfast Jiang Cheng brought over, picked up an ear of corn from the tray, peeled off the outer husk with her fingernail, and asked aloud,
Jiang Cheng licked his lips, eyed the Yujie sitting before him, and pulled out a folded piece of paper from his pocket.
"Yujie, can you help me find a student from the Music Department to record this song?"
He said, pushing the paper in front of Su Manyao.
As an associate professor in the Music Department, he believed that without him saying more, as long as Su Manyao was willing to help, she would definitely find someone suitable for this song.
Su Manyao's hand suddenly stopped moving; she raised her head and looked at Jiang Cheng, asking: "What kind of studio do you want to see—a music studio or an agent's studio?"
This left Jiang Cheng stumped, wondering if there was any difference.
After thinking about it, he said: "Never mind what kind of studio; just have someone sing a few songs—whatever it turns out to be is what it is."
"For now, let someone try it out first; she records it, I pay for her voice, and there's no issue with the song's copyright."
Su Manyao became somewhat interested upon hearing this.
The day before yesterday, at the vacation resort, she had heard Jiang Cheng sing; he sang quite well, and it was the original song.
But this doesn't mean much; many amateur singers also write their own songs, because the emotion put into writing for oneself differs, and whether it's a blind cat hitting a dead mouse or some other reason, occasionally a song that sounds really good will appear.
But just based on this, looking at a music studio would be somewhat out of place.
She reached out and picked up the paper Jiang Cheng had handed over.
