Chapter 86: How long have you and your boyfriend been together?

~7 min read 1,309 words

That night Jiang Cheng sneaked into the second bedroom and stayed there.

Yujie blushed and returned to the master bedroom.

Don't ask why Jiang Cheng didn't sneak into the master bedroom; he had thought about it.

But he vaguely realized that Yujie had relatives over.

This made Jiang Cheng hate it so much his teeth itched; he defied heaven's will, pressed Yujie onto the sofa, and gave her a series of slaps—papapa! Obviously all this had been prearranged by Yujie.

She had timed it precisely, arranged to watch a movie, and that day she called herself over to her home.

If one said Yujie wasn't doing it on purpose, Jiang Cheng would never believe it even if beaten to death! The next morning Jiang Cheng got up; Yujie came out in pajamas, eyes half‑closed, and told him she had no classes that day and wanted to sleep in.

Then she hurried back to the bedroom.

Jiang Cheng saw Yujie's expression was clearly unnatural; obviously she was still thinking about last night's underwater moon‑exploration, so he ran away quickly.

Jiang Cheng felt this wasn't really his fault; when he pressed down on her, she didn't push him away, and when things got heated, some action was naturally needed.

I just don't know whether Yujie's lipstick is poisonous; last night it seemed like I ate it all.

But it should be fine; at least my stomach doesn't hurt now.

So Jiang Cheng went downstairs himself, hailed a cab outside the compound, and went back to school.

Over the next three days Jiang Cheng didn't see Yujie again; in her words, she had no classes these days and was busy with company matters.

But Jiang Cheng felt the atmosphere was off, as if some subtle changes had arisen after that night?

It might be that Yujie wasn't prepared; that's what Jiang Cheng thought.

He wasn't in a hurry either; since Yujie's mind was in turmoil, let her calm down.

After all, when facing a rebellious disciple, one needs to stay calm; calmness is appropriate.

On the fourth day, as the weekend approached, Jiang Cheng messaged Ye Qing, telling her to come over to record a song.

The company's renovation was still underway; according to Chu Siqi's report, the decoration was almost done, but the equipment needed for the studio hadn't arrived yet.

So Jiang Cheng planned to first take Ye Qing to a commercial recording studio to record.

At noon Jiang Cheng returned to the dormitory; having no classes in the afternoon, he planned to get a good night's sleep, then go to the recording studio after waking up.

In the dormitory.

"No classes this afternoon, want to join the basketball team? I'll take you out to play—today we've arranged a game with the foreign language department next door."

In the dormitory, Su Peng came out of the bathroom, full of energy, and said to Jiang Cheng:

Jiang Cheng said: "I'm not going; I'm not interested in playing basketball, don't disturb my sleep."

Su Peng exclaimed in frustration: "You're such a bookworm, always acting like a scholar, keeping yourself cooped up; with your looks, if you went with me to the basketball team, the girls would surely scream."

"Let me tell you a secret: at almost every game, girls come with the intention of checking out handsome guys, pretending they're just there to watch the basketball."

Jiang Cheng flung himself onto the bed and said: "No interest."

Seeing that shouting at him didn't work, Su Peng could only run to the mirror, tousle his hair, and then go downstairs.

……

Su Manyao actually went to school for classes these three days; she just didn't tell Jiang Cheng.

Since then, whenever he has a free moment, the scene of that night on the living‑room sofa keeps popping up in his mind.

Whenever she thinks of that, her body goes limp and her scalp tingles; as a result, her sleep schedule at night has become somewhat disordered.

On the third day's afternoon, after finishing company affairs, Su Manyao finally decided to make an appointment with her traditional Chinese medicine health manager, Doctor Chen.

Originally, Doctor Chen told her that her physical condition needed adjustment via a boyfriend. She heeded his advice and now has a boyfriend, but these past few days she found her body not only hadn't improved—it had gotten even worse.

"Can you tell me how long you two have been together?"

In an old‑fashioned consultation room exuding a medicinal aroma.

Chen Yisi is a woman in her forties, wearing narrow‑frame myopia glasses, sitting behind the desk, and softly asks Su Manyao.

Su Manyao wore a black casual suit; the suit pants revealed black‑stocking‑wrapped ankles, and her feet were in black‑glossy red‑soled thin‑heel high heels.

After hearing Doctor Chen's words, she looked left and right, made sure no one else was in the consultation room, and, putting on an act of feigned ignorance, asked: "What time?"

Doctor Chen tilted his head, raised his hand, and clapped—papapa.

Then he quietly gazed at the woman before him, a woman so beautiful it made other women jealous.

Su Manyao pressed her lips together; the aloof Yujie seemed momentarily slow to react.

Doctor Chen didn't beat around the bush, clapped again—papapa—and said, "It can't be just a minute or two, can it?"

"No." Su Manyao immediately replied.

Doctor Chen calmly said: "Even if not, it's probably about the same; otherwise I see your endocrine hasn't been regulated back—it's gotten even more chaotic."

"It's definitely because repression hasn't been released; I estimate the timing is off."

Su Manyao again objected: "It's not that the timing is off; we've been going for about two hours, and if you count from the very start, it's four hours."

"What?!"

Doctor Chen jumped up, eyes wide, his lips trembling in astonishment as he asked: "What did you say? Do you know what you're saying? Are you sure?"

"Is your boyfriend's kidneys made of iron?!"

"Um… like this, you introduce your boyfriend to me, no, I mean give me his contact information."

"I I just wanted to check his health, hahaha; actually I didn't really want to check him either, it's hilarious—never mind, let's talk about your problem again."

Doctor Chen composed himself, sat back down, and asked again: "Can you tell me how you two do it? Hmm, I mean I want to understand the process clearly so I can judge your condition more accurately."

Su Manyao sat on the wooden chair opposite Chenyi Temple, looking at the startled Doctor Chen, who somewhat doubted the doctor's mental state.

But Doctor Chen has a good reputation; his professionalism has been affirmed in the circle, so Su Manyao felt reassured upon thinking of that.

Then he cleared his throat.

Even the aloof Yujie, when talking about such things, still feels a bit shy.

A blush gradually crept up his cheeks, reddening his earlobes.

She lowered her head, pursed her lips, and said: "We had planned to watch a movie, then after the movie we came out and took a car home. Here we spent about two hours, then at home we cooked dumplings."

Doctor Chen had already prepared melon seeds, but hearing this felt off, he reached out and interrupted: "Wait a moment."

"I have a question: are the four hours you mentioned counted from when you started watching the movie?"

Su Manyao nodded honestly. "Hmm."

Doctor Chen sucked in a breath of cold air.

He didn't know what the woman in front of him was thinking; could it be that my expression was problematic?

I just clapped, didn't I? But at least one thing let him breathe a sigh of relief: that out of these four hours, at least two hours didn't actually exist.

"Please continue."

Doctor Chen said, she wanted to hear just how long it actually was! (End of chapter)
