Chapter 1944: The Awakened Princess

~10 min read 1,885 words

Judging from what Laplace Klein Howard said when he merged with the relic "Door in the Bottle," the witches of the Fifth Era must have already been prepared for the inevitable apocalypse. Perhaps even the initial purpose for establishing the three great academies was related to this.

Xia De hoped to obtain new intelligence from those ancient witches.

"But the 【Poetry Cards】 only summon projections of the past, not real, living people. I've only heard of using them to let heroes of the past help the user defeat powerful enemies; I've never heard of the cards being used in this way."

Luvia frowned slightly.

"The use of time-type relics must be handled with caution."

Miss Benanice also said, and Xia De nodded:

"Luvia is right, but I have my own ideas. My low-tier sublimation language—【The Echo of Space-Time Vibrates the Sleeping Power】, combined with this card and a special location, might just succeed. I will only use this relic once, and then I will let the Witch Council help contain it."

Xia De's sublimation language consumes more spiritual energy than fully unfolding a mystery. Not to mention, his special sublimation language requires use within an "ancient space-time ritual array similar to the Stonehenge on the island in the center of Pantanal Lake."

"What special location are you thinking of? Still the Stonehenge at the Heart of Pantanal?"

Luvia asked again, but Xia De shook his head slightly:

"That is why I wanted to ask you, Miss Galina, for your help. I want to use this relic within the Witch Council to minimize the chance of accidents."

"That's a good idea."

Miss Galina thought for a moment and expressed her agreement:

"The Council can suppress most time and space-type relics; after all, the place itself possesses a unique independence. And if you are summoning a Great Witch from the past, she must have had a connection to the Council. Using the relic there would minimize the risk of accidents. Although there is no space-time ritual array in the Council, the place is unique and should be able to support you."

"Assuming the attempt with the relic and the sublimation language succeeds, who do you intend to summon? The Ice Witch from the early Fifth Era? The predecessors of St. Byrons from the mid-era? Or the Witch Empress Violet from the late era, or perhaps Miss Theresa Schultz, the principal of the Success Higher Medical Academy?"

Luvia asked.

"The founder of St. Byrons, Miss Mana Feilianna. The point in time where she existed is neither too far nor too near, and Miss Feilianna seems to have known more."

Xia De stated the answer he had long since prepared:

"Using the 【Poetry Cards】 requires summoning an object of poetry or an epic hero; it cannot be a nobody. There is no need to worry about this point. Miss Feilianna's story is still being told even today. As for items related to Miss Feilianna, I have a notebook personally written by her, so that is not a problem either."

"Since you have already thought it through, when do you intend to use this relic?"

Miss Benanice asked again.

"Next week. This week I need to handle the affairs of the Edwards family, and talk to the Guardian of the Earth and Sister Sister Daifulin. Oh, and Miss Dannister as well. I need a time when I am certain there is no one in the Council, probably... about half an hour to an hour."

The four Great Witches discussed it for a moment:

"No problem. We will choose a time and let you know. If you have any other needs, just tell us in advance."

"I hope it succeeds."

Xia De stretched and chatted with them for a while longer. Luvia was the first to get up to rest. She would return to the local Divination Society tomorrow and then head back to Tobesk City; Xia De would be able to see her in the city over the weekend or on Monday.

Miss Galina was the second to get up and leave. She yawned and called for Miss Difa to help her make the bed, complaining that the hotel bed was quite uncomfortable.

And not long after the sound of Miss Galina and Miss Difa's footsteps faded, Sister Sister Daifulin and Megan's group returned.

The nun nodded to Xia De and went to rest. Megan, however, was curious about what Xia De was chatting about with the witches so late at night. So she sat down, or rather, they sat down.

The sisters held hands, and seeing others curiously eyeing them, they felt quite embarrassed:

"Why do you keep looking at me? Although one person has become two, aren't we both exactly the same?"

"It's precisely because you are exactly the same that it's interesting... are your senses connected?"

Miss Aurora asked curiously:

"Don't overthink it, I'm just asking from an academic perspective. If I poke one of you with my hand, does the other feel it?"

"Just like this."

Miss Sylvia smiled and really poked the back of Megan's hand, and Audrey replied:

"Of course I feel it. In essence, we have always been one person; now it's just that on the birthmark of the individual named Megan Edwards or Audrey Edwards, a tumor has grown that is the same as the body itself."

"That answer isn't romantic at all."

Miss Benanice said, helping her rephrase it:

"It is just like you and me in and out of a dream; you are me, and I am you. Until the dream wakes, no one can say clearly who is real. And for you two, perhaps this dream can never be woken from."

Both sisters smiled, and Miss Aurora thought for a moment, glanced upstairs, then stood up and said:

"Xia De, are you interested in their state?"

"Interested... what do you mean by that question?"

"Anyway, the night is still long, why not..."

She looked at Miss Benanice and Miss Sylvia, and so the beautiful opera singer and the tutor to the Southern Princess both stood up. They pulled Xia De up from left and right. Although they were still a bit shy, it wasn't the first time, after all:

"Come to think of it, you haven't 'welcomed' us to Green Lake yet."

The witches said.

"Wait, what are you doing?"

Now it was Megan and Audrey's turn to be surprised; they saw signs that something was not quite right.

"The beginning of this kind of activity was us teaching Xia De kissing techniques together. You might not believe it, but in the first half-year Galina knew Xia De, she actually did nothing. As for later, this interesting activity turned into something even more interesting."

Miss Aurora waved to the sisters:

"Come along, it will be very interesting. We won't take the final step, but it's not like we can't do other things. The Battle of Green Lake is over; we should relax a bit."

"But, but, you actually dare to..."

Megan felt she couldn't catch her breath:

"Should we call Galina?"

"She was the one who wanted to go to sleep."

The blonde Miss Benanice said, and so the Great Witches pulled Xia De to the third floor, pushing him into the bedroom he had left less than an hour ago.

The door was slammed shut, and the witches, illuminated by the moonlight from the window, surrounded Xia De.

"You shouldn't do this, oh, my coat, please don't..."

"Xia De, this is not up to you."

"My cat, Little Mia, Little Mia is still downstairs."

"Someone will take care of it. Honestly, Xia De, compared to beautiful girls, do you really care more about a cat?"

The eyes in the wardrobe saw this scene of Xia De being "forced" and surrounded by the witches. Bloodshot veins gradually spread in those eyes. The conflict between good and evil, intertwined in the mind, finally brewed that long-settled fine wine.

The silent transformation meant the boundary between the mundane and the supernatural. In that wardrobe, after the eyes in the door blinked for the last time, Dac Dac Nisi finally grasped her talent and transformed into an un-jobbed talented person.

The joy and bitterness intertwined at this moment made the emotions surging in her heart even harder to describe. Sweat made her clothes stick to her skin in the cramped, poorly ventilated space. The strange, damp sensation and the peculiar mood made her want to close her eyes, or at least move them away from the crack in the door, but her body was beyond her mental control.

Fortunately, the next moment, the bedroom door was knocked. Then, the very impolite Miss Galina, wearing a nightgown and carrying Little Mia, barged in.

The room's lights were turned on, and the people on the bed stood up immediately.

"I just heard from my maids that there was a very pitiful cat meowing alone by the fire on the first floor. Anyone who heard it would be heartbroken, so I came to take a look."

The cat's large amber eyes looked pitifully at Xia De, while the witch's golden eyes swept sternly over everyone in the room. Everyone stood up, except for Miss Aurora, who sat on the bed. The brown-haired witch curled her lip:

"Galina, this is going a bit too far."

"I think you are the ones going too far?"

She looked at Miss Sylvia, who looked away to avoid her gaze; she looked at Miss Benanice, and the beautiful blonde opera singer smiled at her. Although she didn't have the courage for the final step yet, she had figured out everything else; she looked at Megan and Audrey, whose faces were red as if they were about to explode.

The Duchess shook her head:

"You all, honestly, where have you put the dignity of a Great Witch? If the witches of the Fifth Era knew, they would definitely mock the witches of this era. But there is work to be done tonight, don't be lazy here."

She walked straight to the corner, and Xia De noticed for the first time that the 【Hide-and-Seek Wardrobe】 was actually placed here. Miss Galina neatly opened the wardrobe and pulled out Dac Dac Nisi, who looked half-fainted.

Xia De's reaction at this moment was even greater than that of the dazed Dac Dac Nisi; he immediately thought of what he had done in the first half of the night:

"Wait, what is the situation? When was Dac Dac Nisi here?"

The blushing little princess was almost truly fainting at this moment, so of course, she wouldn't answer him.

"Awakened, Dac Dac Nisi has truly awakened! The Cavendish royal family has three Ringed Ringed Shushi in the same era!"

Miss Galina showed a gratified expression on her face:

"Sure enough, intense emotional fluctuations promote the awakening of a Ringed Ringed Shushi. This is indeed correct."

"I sympathize with your grandnieces."

Miss Aurora said, and was then forcibly dragged away by Miss Galina to give Dac Dac Nisi a thorough examination.

The other ladies were also too embarrassed to stay, so in the blink of an eye, everyone was gone. Fortunately, before Miss Difa left, she left Little Mia behind, so Xia De wouldn't have to spend the rest of the night alone. ===== CHAPTER 1945 =====
