Chapter 2584

Xia De then looked up at the sky. It was only two o'clock in the afternoon, so of course he couldn't see the moon. However, the weather was very good today and there was no sign of rain, so the moon tonight must be very beautiful.

The "she" in his ear laughed softly.

Sister Deline and Miss Bell moved faster than Xia De and Miss Dannister. By the time James Kaming stumbled to the scheduled meeting point, Baron Kaming suddenly jumped out from behind a tree and grabbed his hand, then asked very angrily:

"Didn't I tell you to be grounded at home? Haven't you lost enough people recently?"

As he spoke, the Baron slapped his nominal son and actual father directly. The latter looked at his nominal father blankly, and then hugged him and wailed:

"Father, I really miss Erica! She is not my fantasy, nor an evil spirit, let alone a demon. She really exists, and I have really seen her.

She also said she would give me a gift next time we meet, but I can't find her. My heart is broken, Erica, my Erica..."

His crying was very infectious, but only Baron Kaming hugged his son with some heartache, and then continued to reprimand:

"I don't know who that girl named Erica is, I only know that you are already engaged to Miss Jane Bennett! James, Jane is a good girl, and you chose her yourself.

Now, are you going to tell me that you have forgotten that girl from the Bennett family?"

According to Xia De's understanding, the marriage between Jane Bennett and James Kaming was a free love, and although the Bennett family was not noble, because of business cooperation and various reasons, Baron Kaming and his wife were also very supportive of the marriage.

Therefore, young Mr. Kaming certainly had feelings for Miss Bennett.

Hearing his father's reprimand, the painful young man gradually stopped his crying, but still buried his head in his father's arms like a little boy who hadn't grown up.

The Baron reached out to pat his back, but the raised hand finally didn't fall.

He looked at Xia De standing under a tree not far away:

"Why did you bring us all here?"

"The person who threatened you has been cleared, and this matter will no longer implicate you. Now I just want to complete the final finishing work of this matter, and then your family can live peacefully."

He didn't say anything more to the Baron, but blew the petals held in his palm:

"Flying Flower Curse!"

Accompanied by hundreds of petals being blown away, the father and son fell one after another in the pink miasma. Then Miss Bell, the two high-ranking followers of the witch, and the two high-ranking nuns began to set up a ritual around this forest. Xia De, Miss Dannister, and Sister Deline walked toward the Kaming father and son lying on the fallen leaves.

"In whose soul is that worm?"

The red-haired girl asked.

"Don't worry, let me see."

However, he didn't take out the Youth-Preserving Ye Zi according to the forest elf's words, but first transformed the Staff of Yggdrasil. At this time, the box containing 【Night Watcher】 was also on his back. Even if an accident occurred and they fought in a while, he could suppress the enemy at the first time.

Holding the staff in his left hand, he took out the leaf with his right hand and placed it on the eye socket of his right eye. Xia De closed his left eye and looked at the father and son with his right eye.

As expected, the leaf blocked his vision so he couldn't see anything, but the leaf was not completely opaque, so Xia De's right eye could actually see the light.

And after waiting for a while, a small black spot appeared on the translucent leaf. Xia De took the leaf away and found that there were no black spots on the 【Youth-Preserving Ye Zi】, then put the leaf in front of his eyes again, and after waiting for a while, the black spot appeared again.

And after taking the leaf away again, Xia De confirmed that the location of the black spot was the body of young James Kaming:

"It's on him!"

The whistle blew and the bell rang. While the Destiny Ring emerged, the long staff had already pointed at the young man's chest, and the unconscious young man trembled all over as expected.

"Sorcery - Ancient Elf Stability Principle!"

The 【Time and Space】 Spirit Rune radiated spiritual light. Xia De didn't wait for the other party to have any further reaction and directly used the sorcery taught by the elf lady.

The emerald green brilliance then attached to the surface of the black long staff. As the bottom of the long staff pressed against James Kaming's chest, he opened his mouth wide with his eyes closed, and then sprayed a large mouthful of black water with a 'Wow~' sound.

"So disgusting."

The red-haired girl said, watching the "black water" gather together and then expand at a speed visible to the naked eye. Then, only hearing a muffled sound, the Staff of Yggdrasil was inserted obliquely into the pitch-black worm shell made of black fluid, pinning it to the ground at once.

'Buzz~' The worm shell vibrated, but the emerald green light symbolized the great power of the Tree Father to maintain time. This time, although Xia De cast the spell alone and failed to form the phantom of the World Tree, with the assistance of that angel-level long staff, the worm was still firmly controlled.

"Is this the end?"

Miss Dannister asked suspiciously. Xia De nodded slowly:

"It's over. This sorcery looks like it was created specifically to counter the 'Paradox Worm'."

He held the long staff tightly with both hands, wanting to give the worm a final blow, but the nun reached out and pulled his sleeve:

"It can be used as firewood."

Xia De was stunned, and then confirmed:

"What needs to be done?"

The longsword wrapped in gray stone shell slid out of the nun's robe sleeve, and at this moment, fire-red flowing light had already appeared in the cracks on the surface of the stone shell.

Xia De then understood, and said to Miss Dannister:

"The plan has changed. Although because we found out the ins and outs of the matter, the action of hunting this worm has become much simpler, but this time don't use my sorcery to destroy it, let Sister Deline do it."

"You make the decision, I will help you."

The angel-level relic longsword 【Ashes】 burned completely in Sister Deline's hand. The stone shell on the surface peeled off, and the flames entwined around the sword made her robe sway.

She held the hilt with both hands and aimed at the worm that was skewered, but after hesitating for a moment, she didn't act immediately:

"I'm worried that the First Flame will hurt your staff, put your weapon away."

"Although this worm has been seriously injured, once I withdraw the long staff, it still has combat power."

Xia De reminded. The nun nodded to show she understood. Xia De knew she was a very cautious person, so he didn't object:

"Get ready—three, two, one!"

The moment the Staff of Yggdrasil was pulled out, the worm curled up in the fist-sized worm shell expanded and deformed instantly. Because it was seriously injured, it could only turn into the size of an adult, but after the worm shell opened, the soft and rotten black worm body and the dense worm feet were revealed.

"According to the information given by Emilia, this paradox worm has evolved to the second stage!"

The burning 【Ashes】 slashed toward the worm, but the worm suddenly made a 'buzzing' sound. Time became abruptly slow in this sound. In Xia De's eyes, Sister Deline's figure swinging the sword turned into slow motion.

"Stability Principle!"

'Bang~' The long staff pierced into the worm's body again. The flow of time returned to normal, but the pitch-black evil object sprayed a gray-white mist toward Xia De's face.

Xia De waved his left hand impatiently to disperse this thick fog that accelerated time, and then said to Sister Deline:

"You press the tip of the sword against its body, and you stab it the moment I pull out the staff. Now that we have caught this thing, I don't believe we can't burn it!"

But the nun didn't do that, instead she lowered the raised longsword:

"Use your Mystery Lock, Clock Tower, and merge with me."

Xia De easily understood the nun's plan. Since Sister Deline could not completely be immune to the time abnormality state, she could achieve this by merging with Xia De.

What power the second-stage "Paradox Worm" had was temporarily unclear, but it would definitely "virtualize" as well. And if Xia De, who mastered the "Stability Principle," could also use the First Flame, then no matter how powerful this worm was, it could only turn into firewood in the end.

"This idea is good, but... um... my spirit is not enough."

He said a bit awkwardly, while Sister Deline grabbed his hand:

"It doesn't matter, the flame is with you and me."

Xia De took this sentence as "I can provide you with spirit through the flame," but thinking of the movement when using the Mystery Lock, he looked at Miss Dannister again. The red-haired girl blinked at him:

"What's wrong? Need my help?"

"No, not for now."

It didn't matter if Miss Dannister saw it; this was not a secret that she couldn't know. It was just that Xia De looked at Miss Bell and the others again. The two high-ranking nuns of the 【Spiritual Cultivation Group】 didn't care, but...

Thinking that he had promised Miss Winslett in the morning that he could gradually let her know about his affairs, Xia De said:

"Miss Bell, please come over."

"What's wrong?"

The young black-haired girl walked out of the forest immediately. After seeing the worm pinned to the ground by the glowing long staff, she covered her forehead and closed her eyes immediately.

Even if this worm was seriously injured, it was a genuine "ancient evil object" that could gnaw on the World Tree. Miss Bell was obviously still a bit too weak.

"I'm going to use a very powerful sorcery, and I don't want others..."

"I understand, we will stay away from here first and withdraw from the ritual."

As she spoke, she was about to retreat, but Xia De reached out and grabbed her:

"No, no, they will be on guard outside, you can stay. You can stand with Miss Dannister in a while, and you can tell Miss Winslett about this when you go back."

Charlotte Bell was very surprised, but still nodded:

"I understand."

She turned and walked into the forest and returned quickly. After the defensive ritual on the periphery and the illusion that masked sound and vision were all activated, Miss Dannister blocked her behind her. And after confirming that everything was ready, Sister Deline in front of the long staff held Xia De's hand.
