Chapter 3930

The special Red Butterfly Day derived from modifying the snake skin using "Miracle Ink" also lasts for 24 hours, so after a whole night, it only consumed one-quarter of the time for this Red Butterfly Day.

Early Sunday morning, Princess Lei Qianya, who had spent a sweet night, of course wanted to have breakfast with Xia De and Duo Luoqian, but she knew that after the explosion at the Royal Academy of Sciences yesterday afternoon, her mother, Queen Diana, would definitely sit at the dining table with her, so she reluctantly let Xia De go back at six o'clock in the morning.

At this time, the sky was already dawning. The risk of using the space Arcane Art from last night again was really too great. And when Xia De came over around dawn, he didn't bring anything except Duo Luoqian hanging on him, and that crystal shoe was of course not on him.

But fortunately, Princess Lei Qianya had a crystal shoe here. It, like the "crown" Xia De once took from the gift box, was a "night item" carefully preserved by the princess, and the Lost Spell·Cinderella is not picky about crystal shoes.

"Oh, my knight, thinking of separating from you again, I feel like I have lost my soul~ Before leaving, please let me feel your warmth again~"

Princess Lei Qianya issued an invitation for "morning exercise," and finally, with the assistance of Duo Luoqian, this "training" was finally ended within twenty minutes. Princess Lei Qianya would always appear very strong, and Xia De felt that the golden-haired writer lady was the one who truly took care of people most of the time. Duo Luoqian was really very considerate.

"Meow~"

When Xia De and Duo Luoqian walked downstairs wrapped in the nightgowns provided by Princess Lei Qianya, the sleepy cat just walked out of the bedroom door and even greeted Xia De. And Winnie also came here while Xia De went to the bathroom to wash up. When Xia De left the bathroom, the smell of fragrant toasted bread could already be smelled in the house.

Afterwards, when he went downstairs to get the newspaper and goat milk, he unexpectedly saw Luvia also coming to St. Deran Square through the thick fog in the morning. So the house, which had been very deserted all night, "came alive" again this morning, and Luvia coming so early was of course to share information.

"I originally wanted to go to Iluna to understand the situation yesterday, but I didn't expect the church to invite the association to the Academy of Sciences to assist in the investigation, so I know all about the follow-up handling of yesterday's incident."

Luvia was in a good mood at breakfast, so Xia De didn't unfold the rare newspaper that didn't talk about the front-line war or the King on the front page, but was explaining the explosion incident in Tobesk yesterday afternoon.

However, there should be an article about Duo Luoqian being interviewed on the back page of the newspaper, which Xia De would definitely read later.

"【Church of Creation】 handled this matter, right?"

Duo Luoqian asked, and Luvia nodded:

"Yes, the entire laboratory building is still being blocked. At first, the church didn't investigate any traces at all. After President Stan personally led the prophets to the scene, other strange things appeared during divination.

In short, it wasn't until early this morning that we diviners who stayed at the association overnight got the news. After excluding relics or other known causes, the 【Church of Creation】 also thought of the 'mechanical plague' saying from the Fifth Era. Yes, it is the one Winnie mentioned."

The maid lady sitting on Xia De's left side smiled at Luvia.

"After President Stan came back and told us the situation, although they are still checking information, President Lenorman from the headquarters might also come over in a few days, but it is basically determined that this is a disaster of 'creation.' The specific manifestation is that all complex machinery created by intelligent life has the possibility of being activated, and the more complex the machinery originally, the higher the probability of its activation."

"'Mechanical plague' is not the surface manifestation of the disaster caused by 'sparks'? The essence of this disaster should be 'Life Spark.' Could it be that no one saw 'Life Spark' when those machines were destroyed?"

Duo Luoqian asked, and Luvia shook her head:

"Those responsible for destroying those activated machines are the 【Church of Creation】. Although they spread some news, they were quite vague, only saying it was 'crystals of abnormal vitality.' If I didn't know the situation, I might only think this was the characteristic of those activated machines. But since Xia De said all the characteristics of 'sparks,' I suspect the 【Church of Creation】 is intentionally concealing information about sparks.

It is not clear why this is for the time being, but it can now be determined that the 'distorted life spark' Xia De discovered in Arcadia City is the disaster of creation."

Luvia said. Xia De thought of this possibility yesterday, so he was not very surprised:

"Now it seems that 'sparks' are much easier to deal with than things like 'Infinite Snake,' 'Time Tree Hole,' 'Abnormal Light,' 'Distorted Earth,' 'Dark Turmoil,' and so on.

Although completely eliminating these activated machines requires destructive power like 'Black Moon Mark,' as long as you master certain sealing techniques to hinder their contagiousness, activated machines are not very harmful to ring mages in reality. As for 'Life Spark,' this thing cannot even exist independently of the carrier."

Duo Luoqian also thought so, but Luvia gave bad news:

"The association believes that mechanical activation is just the manifestation of the initial stage of this disaster. Other types of disasters that have frequently appeared in the material world all possess the nature of 'cannot be eradicated.' Mechanical activation is equivalent to the early stage of the disaster of 'light,' where areas with abnormal light will appear for no reason."

She directly told the conclusion to the others at the dining table:

"The 【Church of Creation】 consulted ancient books and dug out some past records from confidential files, believing that the final form of 'mechanical plague' should be the appearance of mechanical life forms with true high intelligence. This kind of life form has power that is completely incalculable by common sense, similar to 'Infinite Snake'."

The ice maid held a soup spoon and asked with a smile:

"Is the 【Church of Creation】's speed of checking information so fast?"

Luvia nodded:

"When President Stan came back to inform us of the situation, some people also thought of this question. We estimate that the 【Church of Creation】 discovered clues long ago, and even some strange actions of the 【Church of Creation】 in the past hundred years might also be related to this. In my opinion, they might even have known about 'sparks' long ago.

For example, the failure of the mechanical floating island experiment mentioned by Xia De and 【Active Metal】 being listed as a controlled relic might also be related to this matter. Although it is not known how much the 【Church of Creation】 knows about sparks, I am afraid all relics that have the ability to activate machinery have new characteristics in this era."

She reached out and took the salt shaker on the table, and Xia De also continued to eat breakfast:

"There might be problems within the 【Church of Creation】. Some time ago, the headquarters transferred three Thirteenth-Ring mages back to the headquarters to guard it. It's really interesting... I originally thought the disaster of 【Creation】 would be related to flesh mutation, but I didn't expect it to be manifested on machinery."

"'Sparks' are currently only manifested in machinery; no one has said that they cannot appear in flesh creations that already have life."

Luvia said:

"'Creations created by intelligent life will go out of control' is just the surface characteristic of the disaster summarized so far, but we all know that this is not accurate at all."

Xia De then thought about whether that "Moon Egg" could "sprout" immediately if it integrated with "Life Spark," but he knew very well that he could not borrow the power of the disaster no matter what.

"Although mechanical activation is not a great danger to ring mages, most ordinary people are afraid they cannot directly deal with this. Then will a decree be issued next to prohibit the manufacture and invention of complex machinery? No, it should be unlikely. If the development of civilization is locked because of the disaster, that is the true self-destruction."

Duo Luoqian said, and Xia De thought of the "Difference Engine."

According to his understanding, this is the most complex machine in the true sense of this era. It is said that the volume of the prototype machine that has not yet been completed in the secret laboratory of the Deraer Royal Academy of Sciences has already exceeded a small building.

"What will happen if the 'Difference Engine' is activated?"

He asked himself, and then thought of his dream when the Sage-level relic 【Tree of Illusory Dreams】 pulled everyone into a dream during the Vista Forest incident (Chapter 2866). At that time, Xia De dreamed that the last enemy he faced was 【Self-Argument·Paradox Perpetual Motion Machine·Lord of Ten Thousand Machines·Difference Engine】, which is a very long but very stylish name.

And if the "Difference Engine" really is activated, Xia De would very much like to communicate with the other party to see if the other party can calculate mathematical problems like Goldbach's conjecture.

Of course, it is also possible that that thing, like the floating island prototype machine that exploded in the 【Church of Creation】, would just end up exploding into big fireworks.

The matter in Tobesk does not affect Xia De's trip today. He intends to write a letter to inform Iluna about the hidden dangers of the 【Church of Creation】, letting Iluna confirm whether there is a problem with the local church or if there are other reasons.

After breakfast, Luvia said she wanted to rest for a while this morning, so she went to Xia De's bedroom to make up for sleep. Duo Luoqian wanted to take advantage of the time on Sunday to go home to visit her mother, so she also left soon.

Xia De said goodbye to Winnie and officially started today's itinerary. He still had many things to deal with in Arcadia City today. However, the first stop after leaving home was still the Snowy Mountain Tower. Although Xia De still didn't wait for Margaret's reply, he waited for Margaret herself.

"Xia De! Good morning!"

Xia De had just walked out from under the ruins on the side of the steps when he saw Margaret standing at the entrance of the high tower waving at him with a smile. Although spring had arrived, it had nothing to do with the high altitude of the Snowy Mountain. There was still snow covering the area near the high tower. The golden-haired princess was wearing a very thick dress and looked like she had been standing here for a while.

Since summoning the courage to step onto the true adult ladder at the end of last month, Margaret, who often had secret meetings with Xia De during Xia De's "vacation," looked younger and more beautiful than before.

They hadn't seen each other for many days and were both very excited. Xia De immediately stepped on the snow on the stone steps and walked towards the top, hugging Margaret into his arms:

"Why did you come here yourself? Hurry in, it's cold outside."
