Chapter 4006: Red Moon VS Wither

The doll lady did not participate in the battle directly, but waved her fingers to cast a blessing on Xia De. Xia De could feel his speed and strength increasing.

"Xia De, actually you don't need to defeat it, just drag it until your companions open the next door."

"I understand, but if there is a chance, I am curious whether this thing can be killed by me."

The chain of sins was shot out by Xia De again, entangled with the surrounding blood vessels to prevent him from falling accidentally.

Xia De even wanted to extract life sparks from the surrounding blood vessels to replenish the consumption of the "spark source", but it was a pity that these blood vessels constituted a huge whole, and with his current ability, he could not directly plunder life from such a whole.

Compared to Xia De only needing to drag time for his companions, the pursuer in the high altitude obviously didn't want to let the group escape like this. In the light and shadow of the crimson long whip waved by Xia De, it constantly approached Xia De, and at the same time found an opportunity to launch an attack on Xia De, and continued to approach while Xia De was forced to defend.

Besides shooting Wither rays, it could also summon a giant double-headed sword ten meters high, spinning rapidly to disturb the vascular spider web around it. And the most dangerous ability of this shadow was to summon "Wither Missiles" with Wither attributes from the void.

If it were on the ground, these dim yellow light bullets the size of a human head would be easy to dodge, but in the current environment, Xia De could only continue to consume the energy in the "spark source".

Miss Feilianna's doll also gave Xia De great help. Besides giving Xia De a blessing state that increased speed and strength, she would also summon shields intermittently to help Xia De block some attacks.

It is worth mentioning that the doll lady's shield has the academy emblem printed on it. She also knows and understands the power of Wither, and even while assisting Xia De in battle, she informs Xia De:

"Wither is actually not scary. Although this 'anti-life' attribute has a strong corrosive effect on life, it has a weak effect on non-life, and will be restrained by many positive forces."

"So, I actually don't have to use the power of the 'spark source' to defend?"

"No, no, the opponent you encountered is too strong, the Wither attribute is too pure, so you must use life energy to defend. What I use is light with chaotic colors, forcibly distorting the 'anti-life' attribute."

She taught this student who was not by her side all year round patiently, and at this time, Gina's call came from behind Xia De:

"Xia De, catch!"

The big spider whose head had just been slapped by her was thrown over. The spider was not dead yet, and once it came into contact with the vascular spider web around it, it could still recover.

"Okay!"

The moonlight greatsword no longer slashed upwards. Xia De turned around and stabbed the weapon in his hand into the body of the spider flying towards him:

"Spell · Life Spark!"

The life energy in the wounded flesh-and-blood aberration monster was extracted as a spark and poured into the spark source at the hilt of the sword. And the three witches solved the blocking enemies, and quickly ran towards the front.

"Xia De, keep up!"

The spiders around were eager to move, but because the shadow was chasing the four people forward, the spiders couldn't get too close besides making rustling sounds, just intermittently spitting out some spider silk that could penetrate steel to harass the people who were fighting.

So the spiders faced by the three witches behind Xia De were only five, and they could barely deal with them.

As for Xia De himself, the shadow obviously didn't expect the greatsword to turn into a long whip instantly. It was hit by the crimson long whip, and the red moon rich in life force split its body, and the shadow exploded into a mass of black mist in this blood-colored space.

But the black mist that scattered into a mass condensed together again, and the shadow returned again.

The dim yellow Wither ray shot downwards. Xia De, holding the spark source, activated the "Night Curtain Seal" immediately, endowing the Night Curtain with the energy of the spark source, and blocked this blow.

"Miss Feilianna, does its 'resurrection' have any loss?"

Xia De, who was waving the long whip again, asked. The doll lady looked at the thing with her head raised, holding Xia De's shoulder:

"In a short time, the energy level it shows has decreased, but this decrease is temporary. Theoretically speaking, non-absolutely fatal injuries will not have much impact on it." ===== CHAPTER 4007 =====

"What?"

The blood-red space twisted, and the black shadow appeared directly in front of Gina. It violated the most basic rule that spatial movement was impossible here; this must have come at a price, otherwise it wouldn't have waited until now to do so.

A hand made of black mist grabbed toward the Dragon Maid's face.

"Blood Moon Return!"

Gina was immediately attracted by the blood-red halo in Xia De's hand and flew backward toward him. Although flying was prohibited here, there was no restriction from a gravitational field.

Although they temporarily dodged the opponent's attack, the black shadow now blocked the path between Xia De, Gina, and the door, and behind the two was a large area of spiders eyeing their flesh.

Lady Gustav and Miss Bredewei wanted to attract the black shadow's attention, but their location was already a "safe zone." The black shadow ignored the two entirely and continued to slide toward Xia De and Gina along the spiderweb.

The Dragon girl opened her mouth to breathe dragon fire, but Xia De knew this would only block the opponent for a few seconds and was meaningless beyond consuming spirit.

"Don't, I'll do it."

He stopped Gina and, with a solemn expression, held his sword and met the black shadow.

"Miss Feilian, can you help enhance my moonlight in a moment?"

"I am the Great Witch of Light."

Just before Xia De and the black shadow were about to make contact, the greatsword slashed down. This time, the black shadow did not dodge but faced the sword light directly. The black mist constituting its body condensed into near-solid form at this moment and slammed into the sword light—

*Crack! *

The moonlight greatsword, shimmering with firelight, shattered in Xia De's hand, and the suddenly thinned black shadow continued to lunge at Xia De, the true "thief."

"Adele's Time Stop!"

The solidified time only stalled the opponent for an instant, but this instant was enough for Xia De's right fist, tightly gripping the Source of Fire, to strike toward the black shadow:

"Oh, Red Moon—Moon Fire!"

His fist was wrapped in firelight. The fire of the life source enhanced the radiance of the Red Moon, and the radiance of the Red Moon enhanced the glimmer of life. Although Xia De didn't know any "Moon Punch," this punch rippling with firelight condensed moonlight, moon fire, and the fire of life. The glass-like colored firelight collided with the black light in front of him.

The power of life and the moon met the power of wither together.

To Gina, Lady Gustav, and Miss Bredewei, it seemed as if time stood still for an instant as the two touched. The red moonlight, like solid flame, then used the Source of Fire as its core, dragging a tail of flame toward the direction behind Xia De, as if forming a crimson shield in front of him; while the black light became increasingly solid, until it completely transformed into the dim yellow light representing "Wither."

The two seemed evenly matched, but the energy in Xia De's Source of Fire was limited. Fortunately, the doll lady on his right shoulder whispered a spell, and chaotic-colored light flowed into Xia De's palm through his right arm. The moon fire, dyed red, suddenly expanded, and thus the firelight erupted from the core of the Source of Fire, with the help of the demigod witch, completely dispelled that light of wither.

The black mist dissipated, the pursuer exhausted all its energy and was completely defeated, and Xia De was also sent flying backward by the massive impact. Gina hurriedly caught him and was nearly dragged off the thick blood vessel beneath their feet by Xia De.

The dissipation of the black shadow did not drop 【Blood Essence of All Things】, but only left behind a black crystal, which was drawn over from a distance by the two witches beside the door.

The clothing on Xia De's right arm had all turned to ash. On the skin of his right arm, dense crimson blood vessels bulged from beneath the skin, and those blood vessels expanded and contracted with the frequency of his heartbeat.

Gina looked at Xia De's right hand and saw that the "Source of Fire" had actually embedded itself into his palm.

"Run."

Miss Feilian reminded. At this moment, rustling sounds quickly surrounded them. The defeat of the pursuer finally made the spiders here no longer fearful, and they quickly moved toward Xia De and Gina.

The Pink Dragon Maid picked up Xia De and flapped the wings on her back to accelerate, running rapidly toward the opened door. Lady Gustav used both hands to cast spells, attacking the spiders trying to approach them, but the one who truly played the biggest role was the halfling girl:

"Eye of the Ghost Face!"

She set up the metal shield and used her secret art to fully activate the eerie magic eye embedded in the center of the shield. The 【Active Metal】 fused into the shield formed a complex ritual base array around the magic eye.

The magic eye, which had originally seemed to have lost its vitality, quickly regained its spiritual light.

The powerful whisper elements reached almost the peak level of a Sage-level relic, and under the gaze of that magic eye, ghost faces quickly grew on the surfaces of the spiders pursuing Xia De and Gina. Then, the ghost faces controlled these parasitized individuals to slaughter their companions.

But the number of spiders chasing them was still increasing, and even on the wall surfaces, dense swarms of spiders appeared, crawling downward and upward. The blood-colored spiderweb was shaking violently, but fortunately, before they were swallowed by the ocean of spiders, Gina, holding Xia De, successfully rushed to the door.

The three witches crossed the threshold together, and with a *bang*, they closed the door, then sat on the ground panting together.

In front of them, a metal dodecahedron floated above a pool of blood, and on the dodecahedron were symbols representing twelve different flesh organs. After experiencing a series of adventures, everyone finally found the third "Life Furnace."

"Xia De, your hand..."

"It's fine."

Xia De said, enduring the intense pain. Now, every time his heart beat, he felt a radiating pain along the blood vessels of his entire arm. The Source of Fire had not merged into his body but had established a one-way connection with it.

The injection of exogenous life force was not necessarily a good thing; clearly, his body rejected the addition of a strange "eye."
