Chapter 4128: With Miss Feilian An Na

~11 min read 2,009 words

Xia De turned his head to look back and saw the green-haired dragon Miss greeting him with a smile:

"Long time no see, Xia De. Since our parting at the Exotic Tree Academy, this is the first time we've met."

She had finally found the time to say hello, so Xia De replied:

"Long time no see, Vielle......"

"Call me Elfine. Just because I didn't let you address me by name, they've been teasing me about it."

The green dragon Miss immediately said, while Fiona and Gina beside her were snickering. Xia De corrected himself:

"Long time no see, Elfine. Yi Lu Na and Emilia miss you very much too. Emilia said that you took very good care of her during her study period here."

Then the energetic green dragon maid hugged Xia De with a smile, before quickly walking into the teleportation gate—she didn't dare delay Miss Miss Feilian An Na's matters. Fiona muttered something softly, her tail lightly tapping Xia De's right leg, and followed her in.

Gina, meanwhile, smiled at Xia De, guessing that everyone shared the same thought as her:

"Let's go, Miss Miss Feilian An Na is still waiting."

The other end of the teleportation gate was a rather spacious office. One side of the office had three very wide windows, through which the embryonic form of Saint Byrons Academy City and the distant rolling snow-capped mountains and glaciers could be seen. The floor was covered with a thick crimson wool carpet, with some star-blue runes along its edges as decoration.

The room was filled with a very fresh floral fragrance, and in the corner a clock imbued with powerful miracle elements was ticking away. On one side of the room, an imposing desk was carved from a single piece of deep purple ebony, its surface holding a silver quill inlaid with small diamonds, a gilt-colored ink bottle, and several thick tomes with gilded covers, the runes on their spines glinting faintly in the window's sunlight.

Opposite the desk was a wide and comfortable purple-red velvet sofa, with beautiful violets embroidered on its cover. Against the wall stood a glass display case filled with various relics, and the lock of the case was Ke Yin'd with Saint Byrons' academy crest.

Although there was no evidence, from the office's interior decor Xia De could guess that this was Miss Miss Feilian An Na's own office. Little Mia was currently standing on the sofa back, watching with bright eyes the people continuously emerging from the teleportation gate, and upon seeing Xia De she even meowed~.

Xia De had the illusion that this cat had just been worried he would be eaten by the witch and never come back.

On the coffee table sat a petite doll, and Miss Miss Feilian An Na stood by the window looking out at the academy's scenery, only turning her head when she heard Xia De's footsteps. But she first sized up Brienne. The two demigod witches looked at each other for a moment, then Brienne actively turned her head away, and Miss Miss Feilian An Na said to her student:

"You should go freshen up first. He still has ten minutes, just remember to come back in time."

Brienne had no objection to this, glanced at Xia De once more, pushed open the door and walked out of the office.

The three dragon maids, who had been chatting and laughing just moments ago, no longer dared to speak loudly:

"We'll go prepare some tea and refreshments."

Then they too left the office, but Xia De was leaving in ten minutes anyway, so they really didn't need to do this.

Little Mia jumped from the sofa back onto Xia De's hand. Xia De glanced at the exquisite doll on the coffee table, then met Miss Miss Feilian An Na's eyes. The room was very quiet, but outside the window one could hear the laughter and chatter of young witches, owls and pigeons swept past the window, and the silhouette of the spired building on the east side outside was quite beautiful.

For a moment he didn't know what to say. When he recalled what he and Brienne had just done, facing Miss Miss Feilian An Na now still felt somewhat awkward.

But Miss Miss Feilian An Na only teased:

"Recreation time is temporarily over. Before you leave, I want to discuss some things with you."

"Alright, Teacher Miss Feilian An Na."

Xia De said. The blonde witch showed no surprise at this form of address. She walked to the sofa and sat in the middle of the long sofa. Xia De hesitated, then sat down beside her.

Whether it was Xia De's imagination or not, Miss Miss Feilian An Na seemed to smile:

"The damaged 'Life Furnace' we obtained when we defeated the first Pantanal Pantanal Xiewu 'Life' at the 【Blood-Stained Factory】, I want to keep it at the academy. Regarding that place, I still have some things I want to continue investigating."

Although that shrunken, damaged furnace should still hold many secrets, Xia De didn't have too many thoughts about it:

"No problem."

"But this you must take with you."

She pointed at the doll on the coffee table facing the two people and one cat. To Xia De, the doll at this moment was merely an "empty shell," only slightly more exquisite than an ordinary toy.

Miss Miss Feilian An Na certainly wasn't letting Xia De treat it as a mere keepsake:

"Earlier when I let you spend time with Brienne, it was also to give me time to perfect this doll. Fortunately, the timing worked out. I placed some of my own thought fragments within it. The doll is not me; I merely used a technique similar to imbuing a golem with thought upon it. This allows the doll to possess my way of thinking, memories, and power for a period of time. I wanted to try whether you could carry such a doll back to your spacetime."

Xia De felt quite uncomfortable knowing that while he and Brienne were enjoying themselves, Miss Miss Feilian An Na was still toiling for his return. But he didn't apologize or thank her, knowing Miss Miss Feilian An Na didn't need these:

"This isn't you, but it can be considered you. This counts as...... testing the Tree Father's......"

"No, I would never do such a thing."

Miss Miss Feilian An Na looked at Xia De seriously, interrupting him:

"I merely copied my own power and placed it inside. Whatever happens afterward has nothing to do with me. This is only a small experiment, and absolutely carries no intention of offending the gods."

"Yes, yes, just an academic experiment. If the experiment fails, just let the doll disappear. That's no problem."

Xia De immediately nodded, fully understanding her meaning.

Miss Miss Feilian An Na then reached out, took the doll from the coffee table into her hand, examined it for a moment, then kissed the doll's forehead, and handed it to Xia De.

The Young Lady doll moved her hands and feet a little, then spoke again:

"This time I'm leaving with you, and this feeling is really different from before."

The Young Lady doll's voice was exactly the same as Miss Miss Feilian An Na's, while the real Miss Miss Feilian An Na just smiled and watched her.

"After leaving, we still need to face the 【Leather Goods Hall】, and we'll need your help then."

Xia De said with a smile. He had originally wanted to place the doll on his lap, but Little Mia had already occupied the spot, so he placed the doll on his shoulder, where the Young Lady doll sat very steadily.

"Regarding this trip to the 【Blood-Stained Factory】, and the matter of our departure......"

She paused briefly:

"If valuable materials can be found later, I will place those materials in an appropriate place."

She didn't say where she would put those materials, nor did she mention what had happened not long ago.

The witch's bright golden eyes gazed at Xia De, and the Xia De reflected in those eyes was also looking at her. The study fell silent for a moment. From those eyes, Xia De inexplicably understood that Miss Miss Feilian An Na, just like him at this moment, clearly had much she wanted to say, yet didn't know how to begin.

The Outsider thought he shouldn't continue to remain silent:

"Last 'summer,' after you and Fiona visited my home and left, I saw the letter you left behind. (2520)"

That letter had no letters on it at all, only a clear red lip print.

The witch blinked, and at this moment she was even somewhat...... playful:

"That letter—did you keep it properly afterward?"

"Of course!"

"I originally wanted to write you a long letter, but looking at the night view outside your window that night, I hesitated for a long time without figuring out what to say to you. After all, there was simply too much I wanted to say."

She studied Xia De's face:

"I knew that one day we would have a very long time to drink afternoon tea and chat about all sorts of things, so in the end I didn't write anything, I just left you...... a mark."

Xia De's eyes instinctively drifted to her lips—Miss Mana Friedlina wore red lipstick; he still couldn't tell the shade, but he knew the color was beautiful.

"Parting is for the next meeting—isn't that how it is with you and Brienne?"

"We......"

This time it was absolutely no illusion—Miss Friedlina was complaining, making no attempt to hide her feelings:

"I never expected Brienne to have such nerve. After she helped you in that forest and came back, I was startled too. Young Misses are all like this, one after another. Last time I visited your home, I knew what Fiona did as well."

Xia De felt a little awkward, but also relieved that even across such a vast stretch of time, the bond between them had never been broken.

"I was being too greedy."

Miss Friedlina shook her head:

"Last time it was I who said farewell to you, and I left you that letter. Then this time, Xia De, when you are about to leave, what will you leave for me?"

【Worthy of the Witch of the Fifth Epoch.】

"She" laughed softly in Xia De's ear, and Xia De did not ask some silly question like "is there letter paper here":

"First, let me make one thing clear—I did not go and kiss the letter you left behind. That would be too perverse."

The Witch laughed with her eyes curving:

"Yes, yes, I believe you wouldn't."

"And then let me make another thing clear—I really did have such a thought."

She covered her mouth and truly laughed, then Xia De moved closer to her, his right arm wrapping around her waist. In that instant when their eyes met, Xia De saw in Miss Friedlina's gaze a certain emotion that made his scalp tingle and his heart pound wildly.

Like seeing the most beautiful flower in the loveliest season of spring, like glimpsing the bright moon on the coolest summer night, like a beautiful Miss standing in a golden forest turning back with a smile during the autumn harvest, like someone taking his hand as snow drifted through winter.

Xia De kissed her first, and Miss Friedlina placed her hand on his shoulder.

The kiss was gentle, sweet; that touch so real it made his scalp tingle, as if the outsider had become once again that simple fellow who couldn't even meet a young Miss's eyes.

The puppet Miss on his shoulder watched the scene with a smile, her swinging legs showing she was in a very good mood, and neither of the two kissing showed any sign of pulling away. After a long while, when their hearts both pounding fiercely, the two finally parted, and Xia De believed that his expression at this moment was the same as the one in Miss Friedlina's eyes.
