Chapter 457: Voting Rights

"We cannot explain the reason why you were able to come here. The hypothesis was proposed, and the one who wanted to conduct this experiment was Shivi. Oh, by the way, sorry for not telling you the object of this experiment in advance... this idea was also proposed by Shivi."

Miss Galina pointed to the brown-haired witch, who was quite surprised that she was suddenly given so many "ideas."

The Duchess explained:

"Shivi thought that since you can exempt yourself from the witch's curse, perhaps you have a deeper connection with witches yourself. So, we tried to bring you in. Regardless of whether it succeeded, we could have new ideas about your characteristics. However, no one expected it to really succeed, without any obstacles."

"This is very interesting. Before this, it wasn't that no one thought of bringing those without witch power into here, but there has never been any successful example."

Miss Aurora considered it and looked Xia De up and down:

"Hamilton, forget it, let's call you 'Xia De'. Xia De, forget what happened today, and absolutely don't mention it to anyone. Galina and I will find a way to figure out your particularity. Compared to your ability to exempt yourself from the witch's curse, entering the council is what might truly cause trouble."

"I understand."

Xia De nodded cautiously, casually placing his hand on that stone table.

"Let's stop here for today, you can leave. If Xia De has any ideas and wants to enter again, I'll find an opportunity next time. But remember, don't reveal today's events to anyone, and don't even take the initiative to talk about it."

Miss Galina looked at Miss Aurora.

"You don't need to remind me of this, Galina. You treat him as your treasure, and I won't treat him as an ordinary man."

The two ladies stood up, and Miss Galina handed the book beside her hand to Miss Aurora:

"The thing I promised you last time."

Behind their chairs, in front of the dilapidated stone steps going up, a white fog door appeared respectively.

"You can choose to use any door, but you can only return to the location where you came, so you cannot use this place for space jumping. Meetings of council members in reality still rely on steam trains."

Miss Aurora said, holding Xia De's hand to prevent him from getting lost when leaving. After Xia De said goodbye to the worried-looking Miss Galina, he followed Miss Aurora into the door behind her seat.

"Any information?"

He asked in his heart while passing through the white fog door.

【Yes, Outlander, by touching that stone table, you obtained more information. By sacrificing a drop of divinity inside the "Witch Council," you can obtain voting rights representing two votes. This is a consumable item, not permanent two votes.】

Xia De followed Miss Aurora through the door and returned to the corridor of the manor.

"Sacrificing divinity in the 【Space Maze】 can obtain a brand new road sign. But besides divinity, there is 【Bai Shi Crystal】 as another choice. I think, the council shouldn't also want Bai Shi Crystal, right? What does the council want?"

【Outlander, collect "Witch Echoes" to obtain two consumable voting rights. Multiple echoes can be superimposed on each other to obtain more votes.】

"What is this again? It doesn't sound like a substance that actually exists like Bai Shi Crystal."

He thought he wouldn't get an answer, but didn't expect to know the answer immediately:

【Find the death locations of witches who once possessed voting rights. Because you already have the "Echo" spiritual rune, that space gives you the information to absorb the echoes they left in history and civilization. Once successful, your soul will have the mark of the echo, which is the 'Witch Echo'. Besides voting rights, this can also allow you to obtain some witch knowledge.】

Xia De nodded, but was not very interested in this.

Even if there were voting rights, the number of great witches attending the council needed to exceed the minimum quota to open a meeting. Therefore, even if Xia De got one hundred "Witch Echoes" and possessed two hundred weights of voting rights, he still had to let more witches participate to use the power of the council.

Xia De didn't want to deal with more witches.

However, if there was really an opportunity to get "Witch Echoes," he wouldn't give it up. After all, he was still very interested in the knowledge of witches.

"When traveling abroad in the future, besides paying attention to local evil god myths, I must also pay attention to whether there are rumors of witches."

He thought in his heart, but said with his mouth:

"Miss Aurora, since the Ancient God - Chaos Witch left behind such a space, do other ancient gods also leave behind similar things? If there really are, what is the significance of these spaces?"

He asked the worried Miss Aurora again, who gave a very simple answer:

"All thirteen ancient gods have similar legacies, and each space has unique functions, but the council is not very interested in other spaces. As for the significance, sorry, having experienced the turmoil of the era and the destruction of the Fifth Era witch civilization, some secret materials were lost, so I can't give an answer. Most of the council's materials are in the hands of the first seat. I just know that these locations are very important."

But since the Witch Council can master the 【Witch Council】, then other spaces, perhaps, have been found and are being utilized by some force. For example, the 【Twilight Creator】's 【Creation Room】, it is said that the 【Blood Spirit School】 has already made great progress.

And the Prophet Society, as an organization of believers of the Ancient God 【Mr. Ring】, Xia De even guessed that they might also master the space corresponding to destiny.

"Um... it's really too complicated."

Xia De didn't engage in other activities this day. Before dinner, he used the space of the Aurora Manor to try the ritual in the thesis to enhance the effect of 【Time Perception】. But this enhancement only made him more precise in his perception of the current time, but didn't help him get the answer he wanted.

What Xia De tried today was a relatively simple method described in the thesis. Other methods that required harsh requirements or rare ritual materials, he would try one by one in the future.

Even if there was no result, at least he could put together an article for publication. Correspondence students publishing articles could get many rewards.

And after returning home, Xia De visited Dr. Schneider and Priest August under the cover of night, and gave those Coldwater Port specialty medicinal wines to the two.

Of course, he didn't forget to try singing the witch's song in the open first floor of No. 6 St. Theresa Square, wanting to try whether he could enter the ancient passage before the white fog door by himself.

But after trying three or four times, besides that not-so-beautiful singing voice almost annoying Mia, Xia De had no harvest. Obviously, the conditions for entering that passage were not as simple as singing.

"Could it be that I don't sing well?"

Xia De also considered this possibility, but obviously it was impossible for all witches to be singing experts like Miss Aurora... Considering the common supernatural charm and posture of witches, being good at singing was also a characteristic of witches, which didn't seem impossible.

"Time Corridor, Space Maze, Creation Room, Judge's Court, Silver Moon Library, is this the?"

He hugged the cat and yawned, looking at the moon outside the window. When Mia also started to yawn, Xia De decided to read for a while in the study before going to sleep.
