Chapter 544: Final Thoughts

~6 min read 1,128 words

Final Thoughts

I've written to the ending again.

I'm not someone who likes to ramble, but I always feel quite melancholy and sentimental when finishing a book, so let's just chat a little. In the process of writing this book, there were still many parts that moved me, so it is worth saying a few words.

This ending is the most satisfying ending.

Everything has been written, the plot holes have all been filled, and I even remembered little Tang Ke, whom you all forgot. From the book before last, where everyone scolded me for a rushed ending (though I personally don't really admit it, maybe I'm just stubborn), I've turned into a "plot-hole-filling maniac" today. Eh, it's just something to be proud of.

I originally thought that perhaps it could have ended during the Plane War; that would have been fine too—crisp, clean, and full of imagination—but it wouldn't have been gentle enough.

It wouldn't have been gentle enough to the readers, either.

I originally thought that if I wrote until the 26th, I could buy five leave slips and get the perfect attendance award. Old readers know that Moli has an obsession with perfect attendance. But later, I realized that writing three more chapters would be a bit draggy, so I painfully gave it up for the sake of the ending.

Painfully lost one thousand yuan, *sob sob sob*...

The update schedule for this book was also very good, a complete change from the decadent, lazy state of the last book.

8:05 in the morning, 18:05 in the evening—most of the time it was very punctual, with an average of nearly 7,000 words updated every day, almost double that of the last book. This is thanks to the good habits I started cultivating from the very beginning. Giving myself a thumbs up.

At the same time, the quality of the updates also made Moli very satisfied.

Hand on heart, it is no exaggeration to say that for at least 90% of the chapters in this book, Moli poured all her heart and soul into them while writing. I even typed out every sentence only to backspace and delete it, taking three or four hours to write a single chapter. Furthermore, I would revise every chapter of this book; at the very least, I would revise it once. If I found it unsatisfactory, I would revise it over and over again.

When I had a backlog, I would revise it before posting. If I didn't have a backlog and the update schedule was tight, sometimes I would post it and then revise it.

Perhaps some people could tell.

If there are still parts written poorly, it's not a matter of attitude, but a matter of ability.

Therefore, if I brought you any emotion or joy, I am deeply honored. If I brought you a poor reading experience, I am deeply sorry.

However, the only flaw is that halfway through, because of the extra updates, the backlog became a bit tight. This was not good. The bad part is not just that updates were sometimes late, but that having no backlog meant having no buffer and no time to meticulously polish the chapters. Sometimes, when the update schedule was tight and my state was poor, it led to one or two chapters being a bit rushed, affecting the quality, and I had to heavily revise them after finishing.

That is likely the situation for the chapters outside of that 90%.

So, for the next book, I must prioritize ensuring a backlog.

I must be even more, even more diligent with the next book.

Next is the issue of occupational hazards.

Tenosynovitis.

The update schedule for this book really seemed to exceed my capacity. It was probably about two months ago that I felt like I had developed tenosynovitis. But at that time, there was only a strange, uncomfortable feeling when typing. The part that really became annoying was a week ago; suddenly, one day, it started to hurt.

I guess it knew it was about to end?

In any case, it was only then that I truly realized how annoying this thing, hailed as the mortal enemy of web authors, really is.

For the last few chapters, I tried voice input and tried typing on a Mobile Phone, just to keep my fingers off the keyboard, but either the quality wasn't good or I wasn't used to it. In the end, I painfully returned to the computer desk and tapped away slowly.

However, this final thought post is being written using voice input. While writing, it feels like I am reading a letter to everyone, with the text appearing on the screen. This feeling of speaking directly is quite magical; I wonder if everyone can feel it.

I need to take a good rest for a while after this.

Additionally, I need to try to adjust my typing posture. The "two-finger Zen" is really too heavy a load for my fingers. I have ten fingers, after all; I should share the burden equally.

So the new book definitely won't be until after the New Year.

I haven't decided what to write yet, either.

But my style is here; it's already set, so no matter how I write, I probably won't stray too far.

Regret.

Thank you to my editor, Lord Qilin.

During the creation of this book, he really gave me a lot of help. He is a patient but not long-winded person. A lazy, Buddhist-like person like me really likes working with people like that—simple, few words, but everything gets done well. The collaboration was very pleasant.

Thank you to the big boss "East Sea Small Fishing Village (Home has a Little Cotton-padded Jacket)", thank you to the big boss "Super Heavy Bulldozer", and thank you to the big boss "Fearless Xiao Jin".

Actually, I have screenshots of every Alliance Leader, and I also wrote them down on sticky notes and pasted them on the wall behind my computer. It's just that toward the end, I had no backlog, and with the threat of tenosynovitis and the drag on quality, I really couldn't add any more.

I am very sorry.

Bowing and exposing my chest.

Finally, there is a full-subscription side story, nearly 8,800 words, telling stories from three different times: past, present, and future. It should be out soon; if you are interested, you can take a look.

I am temporarily saying goodbye to this story. Melancholy, oh, melancholy.

I even dreamed of them last night. Perhaps their stories are truly playing out in another universe.

Since that is the case, there is really no need to care too much about the ending.

I hope we can meet again in the future.

Thank you for reading.
