Chapter 1067: Honest

"Field Magic 'The Sanctuary in the Sky' activate!"

The Field Magic card was activated on the Duel Disk, and the whole field was instantly swallowed by dazzling white light. When the light dissipated, the original field had completely changed. Flowing sea of clouds appeared under the feet of both sides, and soft mist lingered and churned all around. A majestic pure white palace group floated in the clouds, connected by crystal-clear crystal bridges to various spires. Sunlight spilled through the clouds, plating the entire sanctuary with a layer of holy gold.

Judai on the side put his hands on his hips: "Oh, Fujiki You Xuan is playing angels today, a very nice feeling."

"Battle," Fujiki You Xuan said. "'Sky Saint - Mortius', attack 'Variable Machine Beast - Gunner Dragon'!"

"Nani?"

Yamada Ken was shocked.

An angel with only 1600 ATK, a suicide attack?

His expression changed, and after a while, he snorted: "If you want to die, I'll accompany you.

Go, Variable Machine Beast - Gunner Dragon, crush that angel!"

Gunner Dragon locked onto the target with all the gun barrels on its body, the tracks turned, the mechanical joints made a harsh metal friction sound, and the entire armor plate suddenly lifted layer by layer like scales, revealing the dense array of gun barrels underneath. All gun muzzles lit up with dangerous red charging light at the same time, and the high-frequency humming sound made when energy gathered made the air tremble.

With a deafening mechanical roar, dozens of crimson light beams erupted from gun barrels at different angles. High-temperature energy beams left scorched trajectories in the air, intertwining into a fatal firepower net. The ground was burned into honeycomb-shaped lava pits by the sputtered energy, and the shock wave generated by the explosion shattered the surrounding gravel into powder.

The battle had already taken place, entering the damage calculation step, at the moment when the artillery fire was about to swallow the angel.

"At this moment, discard 'Honest' from my hand, effect activate!" Fujiki You Xuan showed the monster card in his hand.

Judai: "Oh, oh, Fujiki You Xuan also has an Honest!"

A must-have hand trap for Light-Attribute, Fujiki You Xuan has the best card resources in this dimension, and of course he got one for himself. It's just that it doesn't have a spirit residing in it like the one Judai has in his hand now.

Honest's phantom appeared on the field, its wings flapping gently, and the spirit turned into countless light spots, merging into Mortius's body like stardust. The light wings behind the angel suddenly expanded, transforming into a second pair of translucent wings. All the incoming artillery fire was converted into flowing golden energy the moment it touched the light wings, and was absorbed completely like a hundred rivers returning to the sea.

"Honest's effect, discard this card from your hand during the battle step, and increase the ATK of your own Light-Attribute monster in battle by the opponent's ATK!"

Mortius's momentum suddenly soared, and dazzling white light began to burst out around him. The erupting energy caused the surrounding space to twist.

【Sky Saint - Mortius, ATK 1600 -> ATK 5400】

Yamada Ken's face changed slightly: "ATK is actually 5400?"

With a clear phoenix cry, the angel turned into a comet-like white light and shot out, and the air it passed through was torn into a vacuum trajectory. Gunner Dragon's armor was like thin paper in front of this holy impact, and the mechanical core that was pierced erupted into a chain explosion. The metal fragments vaporized in the high temperature, leaving only sparks drifting in the sky.

Yamada Ken: "Ugh!"

【Yamada Ken, LP4000 -> LP2400】

"Damn it..."

Yamada Ken staggered back two steps and said coldly.

"Then activate face-down card, Trap Card 'Time Machine'!

This card allows the monster destroyed by battle to return to the field in the same form!"

The filled smoke was suddenly eroded by strange purple mist. These mists twisted and entwined like living things, gradually outlining the boundary of a huge mechanical contour. The clock on the machine turned backward, as if time was flowing backward, the triple gear door on the front of the machine opened slowly, and the blue light stream that twisted time and space spewed out from inside.

The wreckage of Gunner Dragon, which had been destroyed and decomposed, re-aggregated in the time vortex, as if playing back the scene of being destroyed in reverse, and the scorched marks on the gun barrel disappeared without a trace like a reversed video. When the fully restored mechanical beast jumped out of the time machine, the cracks on the ground it stepped on healed automatically as before.

【Variable Machine Beast - Gunner Dragon, ATK 2800】 "Battle over, Mortius's ATK returns to its original state."

Fujiki You Xuan was not surprised.

The opponent's face-down card was set to protect Gunner Dragon. Sure enough, the combination of Axe of Despair and Gunner Dragon was just a smoke bomb, a foreshadowing for the real trump card to appear.

Fujiki You Xuan narrowed his eyes and looked at the revived Gunner Dragon.

Well, he had a countermeasure.

"Set a card, the turn is over," Fujiki You Xuan said.

Keeping Gunner Dragon, Yamada Ken showed a proud sneer, as if everything was going according to his script.

In this way, the preparation was complete, and he could summon his strongest trump card this turn.

"Don't blink, watch the appearance of this No.!" Yamada Ken shouted, "My turn, draw!

I want to..."

"Don't rush," Fujiki You Xuan interrupted the other party's chanting, "At the moment you draw, activate face-down card!

Counter Trap 'Forced Back'!"

Fujiki You Xuan's face-down card in the back row flipped open, and a beam of golden light shot out from the trap, hitting the card Yamada just drew. That card immediately exploded into countless golden light fragments with a "pop" and disappeared out of thin air.

Yamada Ken was shocked: "What is this?"

"Forced Back can be activated when the opponent adds a card from the deck to their hand, discarding that card directly," Fujiki You Xuan said.

Yamada Ken curled his lips: "Tch, a trap targeting my hand... It doesn't matter. Even if you do this, it won't change what is about to happen..."

"That's not necessarily true."

Fujiki You Xuan interrupted the chanting again and smiled.

"Sky Saint - Mortius's effect. While this card is on the field, every time a Counter Trap is activated, I recover 1000 life points."

【Fujiki You Xuan, LP4000 -> LP5000】

"And, when 'The Sanctuary in the Sky' is on the field," Fujiki You Xuan continued, "I can also select one card on the opponent's field and destroy it.

I destroy 'Variable Machine Beast - Gunner Dragon' on your field!"

Yamada Ken's pupils contracted.

So it was waiting for me here?

Holy energy floated around The Sanctuary in the Sky, and countless pure white light spots gathered on Sky Saint - Mortius, turning into a holy white spear that pierced the chest of the Variable Machine Beast.

The poor Variable Machine Beast that had just been revived hadn't even stood on the field for a turn, and was blown into fragments in an explosion again.

"What a pity, that monster was intended to be used as an Xyz material, right?" Fujiki You Xuan smiled, "Variable Machine Beast is Level 7, so... Rank 7 Xyz?"
