Chapter 1069: Angel's Bond

"What?"

Yamada Ken frowned and turned his head to look at Judai.

Judai smiled and said: "Because the battles Fujiki You Xuan has experienced, the opponents he has faced, I think are probably far beyond your imagination..." 【10

"The power of the Numbers is indeed completely unknown to us, and this monster called Big Eye is certainly very strong. However, I think if you feel that this alone is enough to end Fujiki You Xuan's legend, I'm afraid you'll have to try a bit harder."

"You guy," Yamada Ken said with a cold face, "are you looking down on the power of Big Eye?"

"No, Judai is just stating the facts."

Fujiki You Xuan shrugged and said.

"Judai is right. I see you don't understand at all either. You don't understand me, and even less do you understand the terror of angels."

Yamada: "What are you talking about?"

"My turn, draw."

Fujiki You Xuan said.

"First, I set one card in the back row." Fujiki You Xuan set a card in his back row, "Next, I activate the Spell Card 'Card of Sanctity'! Both players draw until they have six cards in their hands!"

"Next, I summon 'Harvest Angel Artemis'!"

Soft purple light poured down from the clouds, and the fragrance of wheat ears suddenly drifted through the air. Countless light particles condensed in the void, turning into dancing purple ribbons of light. With a crisp bell chime, the entire space rippled with golden waves carrying the scent of harvest.

In the center of the purple energy storm, an elegant figure slowly descended. Wherever the angel passed, crystal-clear wheat-grain-shaped light spots condensed in the air and scattered down.

The soul of the Counter Angel, one of the core angels, Artemis.

【Harvest Angel Artemis, ATK 1700】

"Angels are good at calling for friends," Fujiki You Xuan said, "I activate the Spell Card 'Ties of the Brethren'!

Pay 1000 Life Points, select one Level 4 or lower monster on your field, and Special Summon two monsters from your deck with the same Type and Level as the selected monster. But those monsters cannot be used for attacks or as Offerings!" (Original effect)

【Fujiki You Xuan, LP 3400 → LP 2400】

"I choose 'Harvest Angel Artemis' on the field, so I can Special Summon two other Level 4 Angel-Type monsters from my deck."

Fujiki You Xuan raised his arm.

"Special Summon 'Sky Saint Mortius' and 'Sky Sage Minerva'!

Come forth, my Counter Angels!"

The clouds were torn apart by sacred golden light, and countless feathers of light drifted down like snow. The entire space began to echo with solemn hymns, and translucent sigils condensed in the air. A pillar of light reaching to the heavens struck down, and in the center of the pillar, brilliant wings of light could be vaguely seen slowly spreading.

Sky Saint Mortius, descends again.

【Sky Saint Mortius, ATK 1600】

At the same time, the azure sky glowed with an indigo light like a goddess of wisdom, and countless starlight traced complex magic circles in the void. A clear harp sound approached from afar, and a huge phantom of a scale appeared on the ground. Where the starlight gathered, Sky Sage Minerva also slowly descended to the clouds.

【Sky Sage Minerva, ATK 1700】

Yamada Ken frowned: "Three angels at once? But no matter how many come, they are all small fry. With the power of my Big Eye..."

Fujiki You Xuan smiled: "It seems you still don't understand the value of a 'Ties of the Brethren' for a Counter Angel deck."

One card can instantly pull out two other angels; in this way, as long as one Counter Trap is activated, the resource gap between the two sides will instantly widen at an astonishing rate.

For some decks, the moment the opponent's Counter Angels set up this formation, it is no exaggeration to say that defeat can already be declared.

"Battle," Fujiki You Xuan said, "First, 'Sky Saint Mortius' attacks 'No. 11 Big Eye'."

Yamada Ken's expression changed slightly: "Another suicide attack?"

The last time the opponent came to self-destruct, he pulled an Honest out of his pants and pitted his 3800 ATK Cannon Dragon, what kind of scheme is he playing this time?

Could it be that you can pull out another Honest and finish me off?

However, Fujiki You Xuan quickly showed him that while there was no Honest, there were as many ways as one could want.

"Quick-Play Spell 'Rush Recklessly'!" Fujiki You Xuan said, "This card can declare an Attribute and be activated by selecting one monster on your field.

Only during this turn, if that monster of yours battles a monster with the declared Attribute, you can destroy that target monster at the start of the Damage Step!"

Fujiki You Xuan said, pointing directly at Big Eye with one hand: "The Attribute I declare is, of course, Dark!"

Yamada's face darkened.

"Because it gained the blessing of 'Rush Recklessly', Sky Saint Mortius can destroy Big Eye directly without performing damage calculation!" Fujiki You Xuan said, "And this destruction is an effect destruction, not battle, so even the resistance of 'No. cannot be destroyed except by No.' is useless."

Mortius's wings suddenly folded into a streamlined shape, and a magic circle bloomed under his feet. He transformed into a three-meter-long arrow of light, the arrowhead being the spread wings, and the tail flame being falling feather-shaped light particles.

This sacred arrow pierced the air, creating a sonic boom cloud. Big Eye's pupils had just reflected the arrow's shadow when it was hit head-on. At the moment of penetration, the entire Big Eye expanded and deformed like an over-inflated balloon. When the cracks spread to the limit, tens of thousands of fragments erupted from the inside, each fragment dissipating into light particles as it fell.

Off the field, Judai snapped his fingers: "Amazing, Fujiki You Xuan! He solved the problem of the Numbers' destruction resistance so easily. Hehe, look what I said, for Fujiki You Xuan, defeating any Numbers doesn't require the power of Numbers at all."

Yamada Ken: "You dare! You dare to destroy my Big Eye..."

"It's too early to be angry now," Fujiki You Xuan said, "Battle continues, next is 'Sky Sage Minerva', attacking the 'Sky Saint Mortius' you took."

【Sky Sage Minerva, ATK 1700】

【Sky Saint Mortius, ATK 1600】

The figures of the two angels crossed in the sky, and the latter soon shattered and dissipated in a burst of blooming radiance.

【Yamada Ken, LP 2400 → LP 2300】

"Finally, 'Harvest Angel Artemis', direct attack!"

Three consecutive angel attacks; if this strike also goes through, Yamada's Life Points will instantly become like a candle in the wind.

"Don't get too arrogant, I said, the power of my Numbers is more than just this!" Yamada Ken shouted, "Activate set card, Continuous Trap 'Call of the Haunted'!

This card can Special Summon one monster from your Graveyard to the field in Attack Position!"

He held his arm high.

"Resurrect once again—

—No. 11 Big Eye!!!"

The trap pierced a vortex leading to the Underworld on the ground, and a domineering power was released from it. Massive darkness erupted, forming the floating number "No. 11" in the void, and Big Eye descended again in that surging energy vortex!
