Chapter 1071: Even a God Draw will be countered by you

Dark Armed Dragon can be Special Summoned when there are exactly three Dark-attribute monsters in your Graveyard.

At this moment, Yamada Ken has two copies of Variable Machine Beast - Cannon Dragon and one copy of Giant Eye in his Graveyard, totaling exactly three Dark-attribute monsters.

Giant Eye is naturally Dark-attribute itself, and since Dark Armed Dragon is also Level 7, it indeed has quite good synergy with this deck.

"I will not fall! With the power of the Numbers, even for the sake of Dr. Ficker, I must not be defeated!" Yamada Ken shouted, "Dark Armed Dragon, effect activate!"

"By banishing one Dark-attribute monster from my Graveyard, this card can destroy any one card on the field!"

If one were a master familiar with K-language, they would clearly already see the terrifying nature of this ability.

This effect does not have a "once per turn" restriction.

In other words, with three Dark-attribute monsters currently in the Graveyard, Dark Armed Dragon has three rounds of ammunition, which is completely sufficient to clear the field of Fujiki You Xuan's Counter Fairies.

Yamada's gaze was stern.

No matter what, he must blow these Fairies away this turn; if he drags this out any longer, these Fairies will generate more and more resources, and the consequences would be unimaginable.

However, while his idea was good and his line of thought was correct, there was one thing he got wrong.

For him right now, it was actually already too late.

Fujiki You Xuan snapped his fingers: "Counter Trap 'Divine Punishment'!"

"When The Sanctuary in the Sky exists on my field, when a monster effect, Spell, or Trap card is activated, that activation is negated and destroyed!"

The Divine Punishment exclusive to The Sanctuary in the Sky, serving as the ace Counter Trap for the Counter Fairy series. The entire Sanctuary in the Sky seemed to ignite the moment it was activated; the sacred sea of clouds seemed to turn a deep crimson, and scorching thunderbolts shot from the clouds, as if an enraged God had descended to deliver divine punishment, blasting the rebellious Armed Dragon into smithereens.

Yamada Ken's eyes were splitting with rage.

His trump card for a comeback, the life-saving Dark Armed Dragon, was actually also...

After finishing that, Fujiki You Xuan went for a "quality triple-combo" again.

"Because another Counter Trap was activated, the effect of Bountiful Artemis triggers; I draw one card from my deck."

"The effect of Mortius triggers; I recover 1000 Life Points."

【Fujiki You Xuan, LP3400 → LP4400】

"The effect of Minerva triggers; she gains 500 Attack, and I recover one Counter Trap from the Graveyard."

"I return the Counter Trap 'Magic Drain' from the Graveyard to my hand."

【Sky Sage Minerva, Attack 2200 → Attack 2700】

Yamada Ken was about to go berserk.

It was becoming increasingly impossible to play.

Dark Armed Dragon was blown up, the opponent was drawing cards and healing again, and next turn there would be another Spell negation, and the Counter Traps were just piling up...

He already felt that one of his feet had stepped into the gates of hell.

"Well, although Sky Sage Mortius could actually still blow up one card on your field, you have absolutely no cards left on your field to blow up, so this effect cannot be activated."

Fujiki You Xuan shook his head regretfully.

He wore an expression of "I haven't even exerted myself yet and you're already down," looking as if he wasn't satisfied.

That was even more infuriating.

Yamada Ken forcefully suppressed the anger in his heart.

There was still a chance.

He still had one last card in his hand, his final hope.

"I activate the Spell card—"

"——Allure of Darkness!!!"

Yamada almost roared at the top of his lungs, playing his final card.

Allure of Darkness: Draw two cards from the deck. But if you do not banish one Dark-attribute monster from your hand afterward, your entire hand must be sent to the Graveyard.

He had no Dark-attribute monsters left in his hand now.

This was a dangerous gamble. Not only did he have to rely on this draw to get a card that could save his life, but he also had to have a Dark-attribute monster to use as the banishing cost.

But he had no other choice; he had to draw it.

Yamada Ken took a deep breath, a firm light flashing in his eyes.

Even in this most desperate moment, he still did not give up hope.

No matter what, he had to break the opponent's formation this turn; he had to draw the card for a comeback. He would never let Dr. Ficker, who sent him here and trusted in his abilities, down.

He also knew he would definitely be able to draw it.

The Numbers seal on Yamada Ken's body flashed with light once more, and his whole person seemed to be burning.

"Ahhhhhh!"

The power bestowed upon him by the Numbers was pushed to the limit; his whole body felt like it was about to ignite. He raised his arm high, that right hand seeming to receive endless blessings, and the next draw would create a world...

However, even though the atmosphere had been built up to this point, he was unable to get the chance for this destined draw.

Because...

"Counter Trap." Fujiki You Xuan said expressionlessly, his tone calm, "Magic Drain. Negate the activation of a Spell card and destroy it, or the opponent can discard one Spell card from their hand to make Magic Drain's effect negated."

Fujiki You Xuan paused and smiled.

"Of course, that's assuming you still have a Spell card in your hand to discard."

Yamada Ken: "..."

Should I discard the Spell card in my hand?

I have...

I have jack-all!

The only two Spells I had were both countered by you, where the hell am I supposed to find a Spell card to discard!?

"None, huh? Then that's a pity."

Fujiki You Xuan put on a regretful look, sighing as if he truly felt sorry for the other party.

"If you don't discard, then the effect of Magic Drain resolves, and Allure of Darkness is negated."

Yamada Ken froze in place, unable to make a single move, and could only watch helplessly as his final hope for a comeback, Allure of Darkness, turned into fragments.

The atmosphere had been built up to this point.

The power of the Numbers had been mobilized to the limit.

He had already prepared for the destined draw, even if he had to "print" a game-ending comeback card.

Who would have thought the opponent wouldn't even give him the chance to print the card!

Counter, counter, infinite counters; even a God Draw will be countered by you.

"Of course, 'Magic Drain' itself is also a Counter Trap." Fujiki You Xuan said calmly, "The moment the Counter Trap was activated, the effects of my Counter Fairies also triggered."

"First is 'Bountiful Artemis'; I draw one card from my deck."

"Mortius, let me recover 1000 Life Points, and then blow up one card on your field... sigh, there are no cards to blow up again. Fine, fine, then this effect won't activate. What a waste."

Yamada Ken: "..."

At this moment, he didn't want to care about dueling, he didn't want to care about rules anymore.

He wanted to go up and strangle this prick.

"Then it's Sky Sage Minerva, gaining another 500 Attack."

【Sky Sage Minerva, Attack 2700 → Attack 3200】

"Additionally, I can recover one Counter Trap from the Graveyard. This time, I'll recover the Counter Trap 'Divine Punishment' to my hand."

Divine Punishment, the strongest Counter Trap exclusive to Counter Fairies that can negate any Spell, Trap, or monster effect of the opponent. Just having this card back in his hand basically declared that Yamada wouldn't be able to do anything next turn either.

Well, that's assuming he even has a next turn.

Never mind next turn, he had no cards left to play right now.

Besides waiting for death, what else could he do?

At this moment, Yamada Ken naturally realized it too.

He had been thinking all along that this turn was his last chance, but only now did he understand that he was wrong. In fact, he had already lost his chance this turn.

From the moment those three Fairies stood on the field together and the Counter Trap formation was set in the back row, he was already a dead man; he just didn't know it yet.

"Then, my turn, draw card."

Fujiki You Xuan waved his hand lazily.

"Sky Sage Minerva, direct attack."

【Yamada Ken, LP2300 → LP0】
