Chapter 109

Phoenix God of Nephthys, summon!

However, even Fujiki You Xuan could feel that although the summoned Phoenix God had a certain power fluctuation, it was more from the power Xie Er just absorbed from the statue. That card still had no spirit residing in it.

However, all Duel Monster cards in this world that are not pirated or knockoffs have a certain supernatural attribute even if there is no spirit residing in them.

The monsters summoned by each card by the duelist, and the spirits are roughly equivalent to the relationship between projection and the original, and to some extent can also be regarded as the avatar of the spirit.

Sometimes when a duelist pours a lot of emotion into a card, it is possible to naturally attract the real spirit to reside in the card held.

So it is possible for an ordinary card to suddenly become a spirit card.

"'Seal of Orichalcos' as long as it exists on the field, all my monsters gain 500 ATK." Xie Er said, "Therefore, 'Phoenix God of Nephthys' ATK increases."

【Phoenix God of Nephthys, ATK 2400 → ATK 2900】

Yucheng Shidai stared at the Phoenix God with the green mark on its forehead for a long time, and then couldn't help but say: "Can't you feel that your monster is wailing?"

"So what if I hear it, so what if I don't?" Xie Er said coldly, "What a duelist needs to consider is just victory. The result of giving trust is nothing more than being betrayed, and in the end, the only thing a duelist can believe in is himself."

"Wrong..."

Yucheng Shidai still wanted to argue, but was interrupted by Xie Er: "You guys win over me first. I then activate Spell Card 'Hope of Nephthys'!

Select one 'Nephthys' card on your field and one card on the opponent's field to destroy.

I destroy 'Phoenix God of Nephthys' and 'Elemental HERO Mudballman' on your field!"

The Phoenix God erupted with flames, turned into a firebird and pounced on Mudballman, and turned into ashes together with the solid Elemental HERO in the burning flames.

The aftermath of the flames swept over, Yucheng Shidai raised his arm to protect his face: "Uh, actually sacrificing his own monster to perish together..."

Xie Er said: "Set a card, turn end."

Fujiki You Xuan: "Then my turn, draw card.

The effect of 'Thunder Dragon' in my hand, discard this card from my hand, add up to two 'Thunder Dragons' from the deck to my hand."

Two cards were drawn, and then he immediately played another card in his hand.

"Spell Card 'Card Destruction', both players discard all cards in their hands, then draw the same number of cards from the deck."

Hand cards were replaced, and in this way, a large amount of light and dark resources were accumulated in the Graveyard at once.

"Then I banish the Dark-attribute 'Apprentice Magician' and Light-attribute 'Thunder Dragon' in the Graveyard from the game! The wizard who controls the power of light and darkness, now descends here—"

"—Chaos Sorcerer, summon!"

The light and dark beams flew into mid-air, intersecting and disappearing into the vortex. Chaos energy erupted, and the surging magic power gradually turned into a human form, and the Chaos Sorcerer descended.

【Chaos Sorcerer, ATK 2300】

"It's actually the power of Chaos, the students of the Duel Academy really have some amazing cards." Xie Er said coldly, "Then I activate face-down card, Trap Card - Torrential Tribute!

When a monster is summoned, destroy all monsters on the field!"

The Trap card flipped, and the blue torrent pushed out flat. Chaos Sorcerer had just appeared and shattered into light spots in the rushing torrent.

Yucheng Shidai: "Ah, Fujiki You Xuan's Chaos Sorcerer was..."

"It doesn't matter." Fujiki You Xuan said, "Then I use the effect of 'The Trickster' in my hand, by discarding a card in my hand, I can Special Summon this card directly."

He sent a card in his hand to the Graveyard zone, the summoning magic circle opened, and the magician with a question mark drawn on his head appeared on the field.

【The Trickster, ATK 2000】

"Then the hand card discarded to the Graveyard just now was the Quick-Play Spell 'Silent Burning'."

Fujiki You Xuan drew this Spell card that had returned from the Graveyard.

"Banish 'Silent Burning' from the game, I can add one 'Silent Magician' from the deck to my hand." Fujiki You Xuan said, "Silent Magician can be Special Summoned by Tributing a Spellcaster-type monster on the field.

I Tribute the Spellcaster-type 'The Trickster' on the field!

The silent wings that entrust hope, the magician of light, appear here—"

"—Silent Magician, summon!"

The Trickster's figure melted in the magic circle, the white-robed magician's figure whirled and appeared on the light magic circle, and the staff spun lightly in his hand.

【Silent Magician, ATK 1000】

"Silent Magician's ATK increases by the number of my hand cards x 500." Fujiki You Xuan said, "I have three cards in my hand, so ATK increases by 1500!"

【Silent Magician, ATK 1000 → ATK 2500】

"Silent Magician's direct attack! Silent Burning!"

The light vortex gathered at the tip of the staff, turning into a light ball of magic power that exploded on Xie Er's face. The Doma swordsman's figure swayed and took half a step back, but actually stood firm under the impact of the substantial light magic power.

【Xie Er, LP 8000 → LP 5500】

Yucheng Shidai punched: "Great! A significant amount of damage at once!"

"You have some skills."

Xie Er moved his neck joints.

Fujiki You Xuan drew three more cards.

"Set three more cards on the field, turn end."

"It seems you are not ordinary students, then in that case, I have to be a little more serious." Xie Er narrowed his eyes, "My turn, draw card.

The moment I enter the Standby Phase, I first activate the effect of 'Phoenix God of Nephthys' destroyed last turn.

If this card is destroyed by an effect and sent to the Graveyard, Special Summon it from the Graveyard during your next Standby Phase."

Xie Er raised his arm.

"The Phoenix will be reborn from the ashes, and burn everything with its scorching flames—"

"—Phoenix God of Nephthys, revive!"

The whirling fire pillar shot into the sky, and the golden shining wings unfolded. Phoenix God of Nephthys, reborn from the ashes!

【Phoenix God of Nephthys, ATK 2400 → ATK 2900】

"And the moment it is reborn, the follow-up effect of Phoenix God is also activated." Xie Er shouted, "When Phoenix God is Special Summoned by its own effect, destroy all Spell and Trap cards on the field!"

Phoenix God let out a sharp cry, it unfolded its wings and erupted into a storm of fire dance, turning into a burning tornado that swept across the field instantly!

"Actually has such a powerful ability." Yucheng Shidai said, "But, in this way, your own field will also be destroyed..."

"'Seal of Orichalcos' effect cannot be negated, and once activated, it cannot leave the field in any form." Xie Er said coldly, "The end of this battle is only when the souls of one of us become sacrifices.

So the only things destroyed are your face-down cards."

He waved his arm and swept across the four face-down cards on Fujiki You Xuan and Yucheng Shidai's field.

"So all your face-down cards will be destroyed for me!"

Phoenix's flames swept across Fujiki You Xuan and Yucheng Shidai's entire field, and the four face-down cards were blown up together. He saw at a glance that two "Mirror Force" cards were set among them!

"Hmm?" Fujiki You Xuan and Yucheng Shidai looked at each other.

Obviously, one was set by Fujiki You Xuan, and one was Yucheng Shidai's.

"Hahaha, sometimes everyone's choice of cards is also very similar." Yucheng Shidai scratched his head.

In the original work, Yucheng Shidai also used Mirror Force. And not only that, you can see from the duel with Titan in the early stage that Yucheng Shidai drew two Mirror Forces in his starting six cards, the only one in the entire Yu-Gi-Oh anime history.

"It's a pity that our traps don't seem to have a chance to appear..." Yucheng Shidai regretted.

"Not necessarily." Fujiki You Xuan smiled.

I saw the flames sweep over, and three of the face-down cards spun a few times and actually covered themselves again.

"What?" Xie Er frowned, "Why wasn't it destroyed by Phoenix God's effect?"

"Because one of the cards I set is the Trap Card 'Fake Trap'."

Fujiki You Xuan pointed to a Trap card that was spinning in mid-air.

"When an effect that destroys Trap cards on your field is activated, you can use this card as a substitute for destruction, and all other Traps on the field will not be destroyed."

If it were a real-life card game, the opponent could flip it over to confirm the cards that were re-set, but in this world's duel, you can't walk to the opponent's face and pull out the back row to take a look. Xie Er could only rely on the glimpse of the animation effect just now to see clearly that there were two Mirror Forces in the opponent's back row.

"Oh, as expected of the Academy's Trap Master, did Fujiki You Xuan calculate the back-row clearing early?" Yucheng Shidai laughed.

"Two Mirror Forces, it's really an iron-walled formation." Xie Er said, "Then I still have effects to process in the Standby Phase. The card destroyed by 'Guardian of Nephthys' last turn was 'Narrator of Nephthys'.

When Narrator is destroyed by an effect and sent to the Graveyard, during your next Standby Phase, you can select one 'Nephthys' card from the Graveyard and add it to your hand."

A card popped out of the Graveyard and was drawn by Xie Er.

"I return the Spell Card 'Hope of Nephthys' to my hand."

Yucheng Shidai: "Ah, that troublesome spell again..."

"'Hope of Nephthys' Spell Card activate."

Xie Er played the Spell card he recovered again, the image of the Spell card appeared in front of him, erupting with dazzling firelight.

"Destroy one 'Nephthys' card on my field and one card on the opponent's field!"
