Chapter 1125: Genome Plunder

One hit clears the field!

Vetrix looked at the two cards that instantly bounced back to his hand, and half of his face outside the mask almost turned green.

What the hell!?

All monsters on the field returned to the hand? One punch directly cleared his entire field?

"Wait... why is your monster fine!?" Vetrix said. "And your monster's ATK is only 0, battle damage..."

"There isn't any." Fujiki You Xuan said. "Timelord monsters cannot be destroyed by battle, and battle damage taken by them is also 0."

Yubel, in a phantom state, laughed out loud: "Heh, is it really a monster of the same type as me?"

"It really is." Judai also felt it was interesting. "Cannot be destroyed, takes no damage, and one punch blows away all the opponent's monsters on the field—it feels like it's even more powerful than you, Yubel!"

Yubel, who was originally laughing, immediately slumped her face when she heard this, and snorted stiffly: "That's not necessarily true. No matter how strong it is, it's just a monster, but real strength depends on more than just this."

"Indeed." Judai nodded, seemingly understanding. "The strength of a spirit depends not only on one card, but on all the supporting Magic and Traps, derived forms, series monsters, etc. Only when all of this is combined can it represent ability."

At this time, Fujiki You Xuan continued: "It's not over yet, Timelord Metaion has other effects."

"After this card returns all monsters on the opponent's field to the hand, for each card returned by this effect, inflict 300 points of damage to the controller."

"The Heraldic Beasts just returned were two, so, please take 600 points of damage first."

【Vetrix, LP 4000 → LP 3400】

Vetrix snorted lightly and took the damage: "This level..."

Fujiki You Xuan: "Then activate Trap Card 'Magician's Maxim' from my hand." (Anime card)

Vetrix's expression changed again: "Activate a Trap from your hand!?"

This combo was also used by ZONE in the anime, and the onlookers at the time had reactions similar to Vetrix's.

Fujiki You Xuan felt like he was cosplaying ZONE, and said calmly: "Magician's Maxim can be activated from the hand during my turn."

"In the turn it is activated, for every card on the field that is returned to the owner's hand, that owner must take 300 points of damage. Just now, two cards, 'Heraldic Beast Aberconway' and 'Heraldic Beast Twin-Headed Eagle', were returned to your field, so an additional 600 points of damage."

Black thunderbolts struck from the trap, blasting directly onto Vetrix. Vetrix's small body staggered backward again, looking like he would be blown away by a storm.

【Vetrix, LP 3400 → LP 2800】

Vetrix didn't speak with a dark face this time.

Fujiki You Xuan: "Set two cards, turn end."

Vetrix: "My turn, draw!"

"Activate Magic Card 'Card of Adversity'. If I have no monsters on my field and the opponent has Special Summoned monsters, I draw two cards from my Deck!" (Original card)

Vetrix drew two cards, while looking at Metaion on Fujiki You Xuan's field with some solemnity.

Timelord, an iron lump that can't be moved at all, and it blows everything back to the hand after battle—it's really quite terrifying.

But Vetrix was no pushover; his Heraldic Beast deck had plenty of ways to deal with it.

"The 'Heraldic Beast Twin-Headed Eagle' that was just bounced back to my hand by you, activate its effect!" Vetrix said. "Twin-Headed Eagle can Special Summon itself from the hand by discarding another 'Heraldic Beast' from my hand."

"I discard 'Heraldic Beast Aberconway', which was also bounced back to my hand by you last turn, and Special Summon Twin-Headed Eagle again!" The winding snake body drilled out onto the field, with two heads exploring up and down, both spitting snake tongues and making cold hissing sounds.

【Heraldic Beast Twin-Headed Eagle, ATK 1700】

"Then Normal Summon 'Heraldic Beast Twin-Headed Eagle'!"

Obviously, there are many two-headed animals in the Heraldic series. This time, a purple flying eagle appeared, also with two heads, its eyes as sharp as knives, examining the opponent's field like a predator looking for prey.

【Heraldic Beast Twin-Headed Eagle, ATK 1700】

"With this, two Level 4 monsters are gathered, are you ready!?"

Vetrix showed a strange smile that was between an innocent child and a cold old thief, and his tender little hands waved under his sleeves.

"Overlay the Level 4 'Heraldic Beast Twin-Headed Eagle' and 'Heraldic Beast Twin-Headed Eagle'!"

"The two monsters build the Overlay Network, Xyz Summon!"

A huge golden crest array appeared on the ground in front of Vetrix, and countless surging light fragments poured out from the array, rearranging in the void, and finally condensed into the burning "No. 8" imprint. This number branded the surrounding air with scorch marks like a branding iron, and every stroke was vibrating at high frequency.

Vetrix: "Appear! No. 8 Heraldic Beast, Genome Heritage!!!"

Purple energy rings burst from the center of the imprint, expanding outward in a spiral shape. The plasma exploded when the rings collided, and the overflowing energy presented a distorted form of DNA double helix. At the moment the last energy ring contracted, all the free crystal dust suddenly collapsed toward the center. With a sound like iron hooves falling on the ground, Genome Heritage rushed out from the energy vortex.

【No. 8 Heraldic Beast, Genome Heritage, ATK 2200】

"Number! And it looks like a very formidable guy!" Judai rubbed his hands. "This guy's ace has also arrived."

"Whether it's the ace or not is still unknown."

Yubel paused and said.

"Well, but it does look like a troublesome guy."

Vetrix laughed loudly: "Timelord? Cannot be destroyed? In front of Genome Heritage, it's all useless!"

"No. 8 Genome Heritage has three effects, I choose one to activate!"

"The effect I activate is, detach one Xyz Material, until the end of this turn, I can make the effect of one face-up Attack Position monster on the opponent's field negated, and this card gains the original effect of that monster!"

In the anime, the three effects of Genome Heritage all require detaching one Xyz Material to activate. They are: detach one material to make the monster battling this card have 0 ATK while this card gains the opponent's original ATK, detach one material to negate and steal the opponent's monster effect, and detach one material when the opponent declares an attack to steal the opponent's card name—this card gains the opponent's card name while the opponent's monster card name becomes "Unknown."

Obviously, this is a monster mainly based on "plundering," and its name is "Genome Heritage," and its effect is equivalent to being able to plunder the opponent's genes. It can steal the opponent's ATK, effects, and even names.

After being turned into a physical card, the three effects were combined into one, and it only needs to detach one material to steal the opponent's ATK, effects, and card name at the same time. At first glance, it seems to be a buff, but unfortunately, after being turned into a physical card, this effect only works on Xyz monsters, and once it encounters an opponent other than Xyz, it instantly becomes a blank slate.

"I'll take the effect of Timelord!" Vetrix laughed loudly. "And your effect is negated!" ===== CHAPTER 1126 =====
