Chapter 120: Teacher, You Are Too Polite

Long Ya: "My turn, draw!"

After drawing the card, his movements paused slightly, and then he immediately revealed a smile.

"Heh, the lockdown of 'Gravity Bind' and 'A Legendary Ocean', plus the combination of 'Abyss Soldier' and 'Abyss Snake'. I really have to hand it to you for coming up with such a terrifying lineup...

But unfortunately, in front of this card, such a lockdown is fragile!

I activate a magic card from my hand—

——'Harpie's Feather Duster'!

Destroy all magic and trap cards on the opponent's field!"

A super-powerful backfield clearing magic card held by Mai Kujaku in DM, belonging to the Harpie deck; the effect description was just one sentence, but what stood out was that it was simple and brutal.

The strongest backfield clearing artifact!

"Hahahaha, A Legendary Ocean, Gravity Bind, all of them, get destroyed!" Long Ya laughed, "I have to hand it to you for coming up with such a lockdown formation, but it won't work in front of me!"

"Then I chain and activate my set card, the trap card 'Raigeki Break'." Fujiki You Xuan opened his set card in the backfield, "Discard one card from my hand, and destroy one card on the field."

He drew a card from his hand and placed it on the duel disk, and the card automatically slid into the graveyard area.

"Destroy the 'Dark-Tri-Horned Dragon' on your field."

Dark clouds churned in mid-air, a demon's hand reached out, and thunder roared from its fingertips. The ferocious Dark-Tri-Horned Dragon had no way to resist under that lightning, and with a boom, it shattered into pieces.

"Ugh, you actually still have a trap..."

Long Ya frowned and curled his lips.

The fact that the high-level monster he had finally summoned had exited the field so easily also made him a bit depressed, but it wasn't a big problem.

"However, your backfield will be cleared by the power of the Feather Duster! Get destroyed!"

The trap of Gravity Bind shattered into pieces, and the gravity restriction on the field immediately disappeared. The Harpie's feathers swept across mid-air, the three-dimensional projected clear water suddenly turned into a piece of turbidity, the beautiful underwater city was destroyed in the storm, and collapsed in the violent torrent.

"With this, your disgusting one-sided lockdown is over!"

Long Ya had his smile back.

"Indeed. However, the set card you just destroyed was the magic card 'Summoning Art'." Fujiki You Xuan said, "When this card set on the field is destroyed by the opponent's effect and sent to the graveyard, select two magic cards from the deck and set them on my field." (Original work effect)

The duel disk executed the search program, and two cards popped out with a swish.

"I set the second Field Spell 'A Legendary Ocean' and the Continuous Magic 'Level Limit - Area B' in the Field Zone and backfield respectively."

Long Ya's smile, which had lasted for only a few seconds, immediately disappeared again.

【Continuous Magic - Level Limit - Area B

Effect: All face-up monsters on the field with level 4 or higher must change to defense position.】

It was basically the magic version of Gravity Bind, a must-have main partner for early-stage lockdown.

Plus the other Legendary Ocean he had just searched, which meant that in Fujiki You Xuan's next turn, this lockdown formation would still hold, and in this way, Teacher Long Ya would again be unable to duel at all.

Long Ya's mouth twitched.

No, who the hell taught you to duel like this?

"The teacher's turn is still continuing, oh." Fujiki You Xuan reminded with a smile.

"Cut the crap, you don't need to talk."

A "well" symbol appeared on Long Ya's forehead.

Calm down, this brat is just trying to provoke me.

He realized that the other party's sunny and polite image at the beginning was nothing more than a disguise. This guy was actually black-hearted to the bone; whether it was the tactics of the duel or the seemingly casual words, he was trying to disrupt his rhythm.

Continuous Magic can only be activated on the opponent's next turn; he still had room for operation this turn.

"Activate the magic card 'Graceful Charity', draw three cards from the deck, and then discard two cards from my hand."

Long Ya drew the cards, selected two to discard, and then played a monster card from his hand.

"Summon 'Marauding Captain'!"

【Marauding Captain, ATK 1000】

"The effect of Marauding Captain, by tributing itself, I can destroy a monster on the field!" Long Ya waved his hand and said, "I tribute 'Marauding Captain' to destroy 'Abyss Soldier'!"

A brutal one-for-one field clearing card, crude but effective. A large group of mercenaries swarmed up, immediately surrounding the Abyss Soldier, and like human bombs, they exploded with a boom, immediately blowing a giant crater on the field that was emitting black smoke.

"That goddamn soldier can just exit the field here first!" Long Ya said, "Next, activate the magic card 'Ultimate Evolution Pill' from my hand!

Banish one Machine-Type and one Dinosaur-Type monster from my hand or graveyard, and special summon one LIGHT attribute, Dinosaur-Type monster from my hand or deck!" (Anime effect)

This was also a magic card used by Kenzan in the GX anime, but it took ten years to be released as a real card.

"I banish the Dinosaur-Type 'Dark-Tri-Horned Dragon' from my graveyard and the Machine-Type 'Variable Machine Beast - Cannon Dragon' I just discarded to the graveyard!

Only the combination of Dinosaur and Machine can complete the ultimate evolution! Let me show you my trump card!"

A golden light flew out from Long Ya's deck.

"The perfect masterpiece of the fusion of technology and life, the form evolved after endless years—

——'Electronic Dinosaur', summon!!!"

A giant dinosaur with pure white armor, flashing with a cold luster, its body composed of countless precision electronic components, its whole body flashing with pale blue arcs, every step seeming to tread on thunder.

It was precisely the trump card monster used by Long Ya in the original work.

However, the Electronic Dinosaur in the original work was a Dinosaur-Type, and it was also summoned to the field using the effect of "Ultimate Evolution Pill" in the manga, but it was modified into a Machine-Type in the real card game. And the real card effect was "can attack directly when the opponent only has defense monsters," which was the same effect as Kenzan's "Dark Driceratops."

However, the effect of the Electronic Dinosaur after being released as a real card was changed to "when the opponent special summons a monster from their hand, this card can be special summoned."

【Electronic Dinosaur, ATK 2500】

"It's not over yet! Next is the magic card 'Double Attack'! Discard a monster card from my hand, select one monster on the field with a lower level than the discarded monster, and it can attack twice this turn.

I discard the level 8 'Dragon-Footed Beast - Brachiosaurus' from my hand, allowing 'Electronic Dinosaur' to launch two attacks this turn!"

Students outside the field were already starting to get restless.

"Continuous attacks after clearing the backfield, isn't this an OTK?"

"This new teacher is a bit powerful."

"Then if this attack passes, wouldn't Student Fujiki You Xuan..."

The two consecutive attacks of Electronic Dinosaur could deal a full 5000 output, while Fujiki You Xuan only had Bubbleman with 800 attack points on the field.

Long Ya's expression was fierce.

Before that lockdown recovered, decide the winner this turn!

"Then Battle! First, 'Electronic Dinosaur' attacks 'Elemental HERO Bubbleman'!"

Electronic Dinosaur rushed forward, its powerful mechanical mouth biting. The blade-like fangs crushed Bubbleman into fragments, and the subsequent impact made Fujiki You Xuan take half a step back.

【Fujiki You Xuan, LP4000 -> LP2300】

The attack passed, Long Ya's joy was even harder to suppress, and he couldn't wait to shout: "Electronic Dinosaur attacks again! Second consecutive attack! Direct attack! I've got this duel..."

"Don't be in such a hurry, Teacher. You might not have noticed, but the card I discarded to the graveyard as the cost for activating 'Raigeki Break' just now was this card."

Fujiki You Xuan smiled and revealed a card that had been ejected from the graveyard.

"'Executioner - Makyura'. When this card is sent to the graveyard, I can activate a trap card from my hand."

Long Ya: "!!!"

Activate from the hand!?"

"Therefore, at the moment of receiving a direct attack, I activate this card from my hand."

Fujiki You Xuan played a hand card, and the image of the trap card appeared in front of him.

"Trap card, 'Wavering Eyes'—no, 'Wave-Motion Cannon'—no, 'Drowning Mirror Force'!"

"When the opponent declares a direct attack, return all attack position monsters on the opponent's field to the owner's deck!"

"Na-nani!?"

Long Ya instantly put on a mask of pain.

Yamero (Stop)!!!

But it was already too late; the light blue water flow shield had already been generated on Fujiki You Xuan's field. The silly Electronic Dinosaur bumped into the water flow shield, was instantly submerged by the water, and after being washed away by the water, it turned back into a golden light and flew back into Long Ya's deck.

Teacher Long Ya's eyes were red.

My Electronic Dinosaur...

This time it wasn't even returning to the hand; it went straight back to the deck.

And with this, he became empty-handed and empty-field, with not a single card left. A second ago it was a comeback for the win, the next second it was an instant mask of pain; dueling really was like life, full of ups and downs.

And with this, Teacher Long Ya had no cards left, obviously nothing to do, and could only grit his teeth and pass under the sunny and friendly urging of the other party.

"Then my turn, draw. Standby Phase, 'Abyss Snake' in the graveyard returns to my hand again."

Fujiki You Xuan laughed as he retrieved Abyss Snake from the graveyard. Teacher Long Ya, seeing this thing again, looked as if his eyes were even redder.

"Then normal summon the second 'Abyss Soldier'."

【Abyss Soldier, ATK 1800】

"Next, activate these two cards that Teacher helped me search last turn.

First is the Field Spell 'A Legendary Ocean', reducing my Abyss Soldier's level to 3 again.

Then is the Continuous Magic 'Level Limit - Area B', all monsters on the field level 4 or higher become defense position.

Oh right, because of the effect of A Legendary Ocean, Abyss Soldier's attack power increases again."

【Abyss Soldier, ATK 1800 -> ATK 2000】

Long Ya's facial muscles twitched.

It's back, it's back again.

Still this familiar formation, this familiar taste.

"Abyss Soldier attacks directly."

The trident pierced straight toward his heart, stabbing him until his whole body felt a chill through to the heart.

【Long Ya, LP4000 -> LP2000】

Long Ya clutched his heart and gritted his teeth.

"Set one card, my turn ends." Fujiki You Xuan smiled, "Teacher, please."

Long Ya had a cold face.

It's not over yet.

He could still draw cards, there was still a chance.

It's just a one-way lockdown plus a 3-star 2000 attacker plus an infinite bounce combination, watch me draw a god-card and make a comeback...

"Open the set card, trap card - 'Drop Off'." Fujiki You Xuan said politely, "During the opponent's draw phase, the card the opponent draws is discarded directly."

Long Ya: "..."

Spectators: "..."

The card he had just drawn hadn't even been seen clearly before it went to the graveyard again, and the field fell into a long and eerie silence.

A desolate cold wind seemed to blow across the field.

"Eh, Teacher, you're not planning to do anything this turn? You're too polite. Then your waiting time has timed out, it's my turn again, draw."

Fujiki You Xuan waved his hand.

"Abyss Soldier, attack directly."

【Long Ya, LP2000 -> LP0】
