Chapter 1267: Meteor Phoenix Assault

Starlight Dragon Stardust!

This dragon, just like the "Moonlight Dragon Black Rose" summoned by Akiza Izinski before, was a dragon that shouldn't exist in the 5D's world based on the anime.

This was one of the dragons held by the protagonists in the 5D's manga, known as "Duel Dragons." Starlight Dragon Stardust was precisely the Duel Dragon of manga Yusei, and could also be seen as another form of Stardust Dragon.

"This is the brand-new Stardust, the brand-new possibility for me and my companions!" Yusei shouted.

Of course, just like "Moonlight Dragon Black Rose," Yusei also learned of this form's existence because of You Xuan, knowing of Stardust, and also knowing of the possibilities he possessed.

Yusei clenched his fists.

From the moment that person left, they hadn't slacked off for a single moment.

Constantly designing and improving the D-Wheel, racing day and night, constantly dueling, passing five levels and killing six generals in the WRGP...

Yusei believed that whether it was himself or his companions in Team 5D's, they had all become stronger during this time.

It was for their respective futures, for this world, and even more so, so that when that person returned next time, they could reunite with their heads held high.

"Go, Starlight Dragon Stardust, carrying our brand-new possibilities!" Yusei played another card from his hand. "Activate Equip Spell 'Phoenix's Fighting Wings'!" (Original card)

"Equip this card to Stardust!"

A raging fire rolled up out of thin air on the field, turning into a firestorm that reached the sky. The flames seemed to have consciousness as they gathered on Stardust's body, covering Stardust's entire body like a burning battle suit. Bathed in flames, Stardust Dragon looked as if it had transformed into a nirvana phoenix.

Cicada Maru: "What? That dragon looks like it's burning, but its ATK..."

Starlight Dragon, which obtained the Equip Spell, had no change in ATK, which instead made Cicada Maru feel increasingly uneasy.

Yusei: "Then activate Spell Card 'Parallel Twister'!" (Original card)

Another Spell Card appeared on Yusei's field, and a pitch-black tornado stood on his field like an inverted funnel. The storm actually split into two from the middle as it swirled, as if it had been cut into two halves, turning into two parallel tornadoes.

"Parallel Twister can destroy one Spell or Trap Card on my field, and then destroy any one card on the field!" Yusei said.

Cicada Maru understood: "So that's it. You want to use this card to destroy my Hell Cicada King and then launch a direct attack on me. But such means are also within my prediction!"

He said, flipping over his set card in the back row.

"Activate Continuous Trap 'Number Wall'! This card allows monsters with 'Number' in their name on my field to gain resistance to being destroyed by effects!"

The Trap Card released an energy barrier, sealing it in front of Hell Cicada King.

But the corner of Yusei's mouth twitched, revealing a smile.

"First, Parallel Twister destroys one Spell or Trap Card on my field," Yusei said. "The one I want to destroy is my own Equip Spell 'Phoenix's Fighting Wings'!"

"But one of the effects of 'Phoenix's Fighting Wings' is that once per turn, when it is about to be destroyed by a card effect, that destruction is negated!"

And so, one of the two tornadoes split by Parallel Twister headed toward Starlight Dragon, but Starlight Dragon's burning wings flapped, and the impact of the flames immediately blew away the Parallel Twister. Following that, the phoenix flames attached to the dragon wings became even more intense, even hotter than before.

"And, when 'Phoenix's Fighting Wings' was originally about to be destroyed by a card effect but that destruction was negated, the equipped monster's ATK doubles!"

Yusei raised his arm high.

"Starlight Dragon Stardust's ATK doubles!"

【Starlight Dragon Stardust, ATK 2500 -> ATK 5000】

"5000 ATK!?" Cicada Maru was shocked. "It exceeded my Hell Cicada King..."

But he suppressed the fear that instinctively surged in his heart.

Hell Cicada King's current ATK was 4200, and Hell Cicada King was a Number, which could not be destroyed by battle. In this way, even if attacked by Starlight Dragon, it would only be 800 points of damage, and his Life Points would still have 200 left; he wouldn't die.

There was still a chance next turn!

However, Yusei smiled and said: "Then, Parallel Twister's follow-up effect can destroy any one card on the field."

"The card I want to destroy is still... my own Equip Spell 'Parallel Twister'!"

Cicada Maru was shocked: "Destroying your own card again? Are you crazy? 'Phoenix's Fighting Wings' negates its own destruction only once per turn; this time it will really be destroyed, and then your Starlight Dragon Stardust's ATK will drop back to 2500..."

Yusei smiled confidently: "That's not necessarily true."

Cicada Maru: "Nani?"

Yusei: "This moment, I activate 'Starlight Dragon Stardust's' effect! Once per turn, I can select any one card on the field, and that card will not be destroyed by battle or card effects this turn!"

"And this effect can also be activated during the opponent's turn!"

After being turned into a physical card, Starlight Dragon Stardust's selected card can only negate its own destruction once per turn, but the original version could give that card destruction resistance for a whole turn, which was much stronger than the physical card.

"The one I want to select is, of course, the Equip Spell 'Phoenix's Fighting Wings'!" Yusei said. "Therefore, Phoenix's Fighting Wings will be protected again from the second destruction of 'Parallel Twister'!"

Cicada Maru's pupils contracted, his lips already starting to tremble: "Phoenix's Fighting Wings, if this card's destruction is negated..."

"Correct, when Phoenix's Fighting Wings is originally about to be destroyed by a card effect but the destruction is negated," Yusei said, "the equipped monster's ATK doubles!"

"Phoenix Life Brilliance!!!"

The phoenix flames were unprecedentedly hot, exploding without reservation from the wings spread by Starlight Dragon Stardust. Stardust's wings instantly looked as if they had expanded to several times their original length, like burning wings made entirely of phoenix flames, dancing and covering the sky while dragging the flowing light of the flames.

【Starlight Dragon Stardust, ATK 5000 -> ATK 10000】

"10,000 ATK..." Cicada Maru's lips were dry, feeling as if he could almost no longer make a sound.

"With this, it's over!" Yusei said. "Starlight Dragon Stardust!"

Cicada King instinctively stepped back: "Wait, wait a minute! I understand, I was wrong, it was my fault..."

Yusei: "Starlight Dragon Stardust attacks 'No. 3 Hell Cicada King'!"

"Meteor Phoenix Assault!!!"

A destructive blow, stardust and phoenix flames seemed to have merged into one, Stardust's burning wings flapped, turning into a burning meteor!

The indestructible pitch-black Cicada King was finally pierced by this blow, and the uncontrollable flames quickly spread over its entire body, as if setting the entire Hell Cicada King on fire. The overflowing flames affected Cicada Maru's body, and it seemed that even the duelist was burning in screams.
