Chapter 1335: Utopic Dark Infinity

"Utopic Dark Infinity's effect, I want to choose the monster, of course, this monster obtained from your Graveyard, 'Dark Magic High Priest'!"

Anubis's actions were arrogant.

"Gain Life Points equal to Dark Magic High Priest's ATK value, which is 3200 points!"

The pitch-black Rank 10 warrior waved the great sword in his hand, and the blade seemed to release unstoppable magic power. Dark Magic High Priest suddenly seemed to be bound by invisible power, and black lightning kept popping out from his whole body, the electric light as if squeezing his life force out of his body, all absorbed into Anubis's body.

【Anubis, LP1000 -> LP4200】

"The taste is not bad, worthy of being the Pharaoh's strongest servant," Anubis continued to provoke. "Soon, Nameless Pharaoh, soon you will also become my... no, become nourishment for Lord Zorc, becoming a part of a greater existence!"

He spread his five fingers again and waved his arm.

"Set a card in the back row, turn end."

Dark Yugi only then slowed down a bit from the severe pain of the battle just now, and stood firm again.

At this time, the situation on the field was indeed very unfavorable for him. Dark Magic High Priest was his reversal move, his trump card in a desperate situation. But at this time, not only was he defeated, but he was even taken away by the opponent, which could be called a desperate crisis moment.

But even so...

"I will not give up; as long as there are cards in the Deck, I will always believe in the possibilities of the Deck! This is what a true duelist does!"

Dark Yugi's gaze was firm.

"My turn, draw card!"

Anubis: "Very good, that's it, Pharaoh. Don't give up, keep struggling! Your struggle can give me, give Lord Zorc more power! Keep pleasing me, and then fall into darkness and die miserably, becoming the cornerstone of the new world!"

Dark Yugi frowned at his manic appearance: "Has this guy gone crazy?"

He looked at his hand and soon decided on his next step: "Activate Magic Card 'Pot of Greed', draw two cards from the Deck."

Dark Yugi: "Then activate Magic Card 'Warrior Returning Alive'! This card allows me to return one Warrior-type monster from the Graveyard to my hand!"

A golden light bloomed in his Graveyard, and a card exited the Graveyard. It was the Warrior that Dark Yugi chose as most suitable for the situation on the field.

He revealed the card in his hand: "I return 'Marauding Captain' from the Graveyard to my hand!"

After revealing and adding it to his hand, he then set another card from his hand face-down on the field.

"Then set a monster face-down in Defense Position on the field, and finally add two Set Cards, turn end."

Dark Yugi had one more face-down card in the front row and two Set Cards in the back row.

"Because you are helpless, so you can only survive miserably with a defensive monster? How ugly, Nameless Pharaoh," Anubis shouted. "Then let me speed up and send you on your way!

My turn, draw card!"

He flipped his palm, and another new card appeared in his palm. He glanced at the newly appeared card, and then that card also automatically floated to the position of his floating hand cards.

"Change 'Dark Magic High Priest', whose control I obtained last turn, to Attack Position!"

Following Anubis's order, Dark Magic High Priest had to stand up. Although his expression was ferocious, looking as if he were resisting with his will, his whole body's hands and feet were wrapped in black lightning, just like chains pulling his body, leaving him no way to resist. 【Dark Magic High Priest, DEF 2800 -> ATK 3200】

Anubis said triumphantly: "Although I don't know what back row you set, now that I have obtained the power of your Dark Magic High Priest, any trap is useless to me! If you want to hate, hate your servant who was taken away, Pharaoh!"

"Direct battle! Dark Magic High Priest, attack the face-down monster!"

The High Priest raised the magic staff in his hand, and the emerald magic vortex swirled on the tip of the staff, condensing into a pitch-black magic cannonball and blasting toward the face-down monster.

"Activate Set Card!" Dark Yugi said. "Counter Trap 'Negate Attack'! Negate the opponent's monster's attack, and then forcibly end the Battle Phase!"

"So that's it, a Counter Trap," Anubis realized.

"Correct!" Dark Yugi said. "Although Dark Magic High Priest can negate and destroy the activation of any Trap Card, Dark Magic High Priest himself is just an Effect Monster, and cannot keep up with Counter Traps."

The spell speed of Effect Monsters is at most Speed 2, while Counter Traps are noble Speed 3, so monster effects cannot chain to Counter Traps.

So although Dark Magic High Priest's effect text doesn't specifically note that it "cannot negate Counter Traps," this is the basic rule of dueling.

"So that's it, the idea is an idea, but..." Anubis waved his hand again. "Activate Set Card, Counter Trap 'Dark Bribe'!

This card can negate and destroy any Magic or Trap card activated by the opponent!"

Dark Yugi: "Counter Trap!?"

"Correct, this card is also a Counter Trap!" Anubis shouted. "So it's a pity, but your tricks don't work; the eyesore wall, disappear for me!"

The vortex of Negate Attack was instantly reduced to nothing in front of the Dark Bribe counter, and Dark Magic High Priest's attack was unstoppable, continuing to pass through without any obstruction. The dark magic impact exploded on the face-down monster in the front row, revealing the monster's appearance.

A swordsman wearing armor, his long sword held horizontally in front of him in a defensive posture, vigilantly examining the opponent.

【Marauding Captain, DEF 1200】

"Marauding Captain cannot be destroyed by battle by monsters with 1900 ATK or more," Dark Yugi said.

"So that's it, not only are there traps, but this monster itself is your second defense line," Anubis said.

Although he didn't say it clearly, he thought in his heart that this Pharaoh really had some ability. Even if he sealed the three Egyptian Gods and possessed the power of Xyz, it would probably still take some effort to take him down.

Although Marauding Captain had appeared before this duel, it was destroyed by the effect of "Sphinx Teleia" the last time it appeared, and didn't have a chance to exert its ability at all. Therefore, Anubis didn't know this monster's ability.

"Then the Battle Phase ends, but let your Magic High Priest taste it one more time." Anubis licked the corner of his mouth and smiled coldly. "Once again, activate 'Number XX: Utopic Dark Infinity's' effect!

Once per turn, choose any monster Special Summoned on your field other than Utopic Dark Infinity, and gain Life Points equal to that monster's ATK value!"

He pointed at Dark Magic High Priest again, and purple-black lightning appeared on the latter's whole body, showing a look of pain.

"I want to recover 3200 Life Points equal to Dark Magic High Priest's ATK!" ===== CHAPTER 1336 =====
