Chapter 1406

Appearing from the overlay storm, its snow-white armor, like that of a holy knight, was dotted with gold, and its billowing cloak seemed to hide an entire endless starry sky.

Constellar Pleiades, Xyz Summon!

【Constellar Pleiades, ATK 2500】

"Come, is this his trump card?" Yuma said, "A Rank 5 Xyz on the first turn..."

"Yes, I'm afraid it hides some terrifying ability." Astral said, crossing his arms. He paused and added, "But that's perfect, let's see how Fujiki You Xuan deals with it."

Xingye Zhenwu said: "I activate the effect of 'Constellar Pleiades'!

Once per turn, by detaching one Xyz Material, I can return any one card on the field to its owner's hand!"

He pointed at Fujiki You Xuan's back row.

"First, let's start with that face-down card. Return that card to the hand for me!"

Pleiades raised the weapon in its hand, and a beam of golden light shot into the sky, enveloping Fujiki You Xuan's face-down card in the back row.

"Prioritizing the back row over monsters, you're a cautious duelist." Fujiki You Xuan smiled, "But it looks like your luck isn't very good."

He said, snapping his fingers.

"I activate my face-down card, the Quick-Play Spell 'Inferno Reckless Summon'!

After this card is activated, I can Special Summon two 'Infernal Flame Tokens' to my field!"

The spell activated, and pitch-black flames burned on the field, splitting into two clusters that burned into small demons with jet-black bodies. It was as if the black flames had gained torsos and limbs, with a single evil eye opening in the center of their foreheads.

【Infernal Flame Token, DEF 0】 x2

"As a cost, I cannot perform any Summons, Flip Summons, or Special Summons other than this effect during the turn I activate this." Fujiki You Xuan said.

"A card that summons tokens, huh."

Xingye Zhenwu cursed his luck internally; Pleiades had happened to target exactly such a face-down card.

But he didn't stop his actions: "Battle Phase. 'Constellar Pleiades', attack the face-down monster."

Pleiades raised its weapon again, and a golden beam shot into the sky, disappearing into the endless starry sky. Then, as if something had been summoned from that void, burning meteorites turned into a meteor shower that descended, bombarding Fujiki You Xuan's field with continuous rumbles.

Fujiki You Xuan's face-down monster flipped, revealing its true form. It turned out to be a black-shelled beetle, which vanished instantly under Pleiades' bombardment.

【Infernity Beetle, DEF 0】

Xingye Zhenwu picked out another card from his hand and set it in the back row.

"I set one card and end my turn."

"A pretty standard Constellar opening." Fujiki You Xuan chuckled, "Then it's my turn, draw."

Fujiki You Xuan drew a card, and at the same time, golden light flew out from the Graveyard, and the Spell card from the previous turn floated into mid-air.

"The effect of the Spell card 'TakeOver5' in the Graveyard: banish this card and another card with the same name from my Deck from the game, then draw one card from my Deck."

Fujiki You Xuan drew another card.

"Next, I Tribute one of the two 'Infernal Flame Tokens' on my field for a Tribute Summon!"

Xingye Zhenwu frowned: "Can tokens summoned by the effect of 'Inferno Reckless Summon' be Tributed for a Tribute Summon?"

The reason he asked this was because he knew many token cards had the basic restriction of "cannot be Tributed for a Tribute Summon."

"That's true, but there are restrictions." Fujiki You Xuan said, "Tokens summoned by the effect of 'Inferno Reckless Summon' can only be Tributed for the Tribute Summon of a DARK monster.

But it doesn't matter, the monster I'm about to summon is exactly a DARK monster." Fujiki You Xuan revealed another monster card in his hand.

"Archer demon returning from hell, appear! Infernity Archer!"

The Infernal Flame Token's entire body burned until it completely vanished in the black flames. He wore heavy black armor, held a bow and arrow, and was wrapped in burning flames.

【Infernity Archer, ATK 2000】

Xingye Zhenwu: "Infernity..."

"Yes, Infernity." Fujiki You Xuan said, "Unlike your Constellar, I'm using a deck from the Synchro Dimension."

As he spoke, he waved his hand and inserted another card from his hand into the back row slot of his Duel Disk.

"I set one card in the back row... this way, my hand becomes zero."

Fujiki You Xuan spread his hands, making a gesture of having nothing. Then he pressed a button on his Duel Disk, and one of the face-down cards in his back row clicked open.

"Then I activate the face-down card, the Continuous Trap 'Call of the Haunted'! This card can Special Summon one monster from my Graveyard to my field in Attack Position."

A monster card exited his Graveyard.

"I Special Summon 'Infernity Beetle' from the Graveyard in Attack Position!"

The beetle with the jet-black shell jumped out and returned to Fujiki You Xuan's field.

【Infernity Beetle, ATK 1200】

"Next, I activate the effect of Infernity Beetle: Tribute itself to Special Summon two other 'Infernity Beetles' from my Deck."

The beetle turned into light spots and disintegrated; the light spots split into two and re-aggregated into two new beetles, as if they had split into clones.

【Infernity Beetle, DEF 0】 x2

Xingye Zhenwu: "What can splitting into more small fry do?"

"Well, who knows?" Fujiki You Xuan smiled and waved his hand, "Battle Phase!"

Yuma, on the side, wondered: "Eh? Attacking without Synchro Summoning first...?"

"I'm afraid he's wary of the ability of that 'Constellar Pleiades' on the other side." Astral said, "If I'm not mistaken, the effect of Pleiades, 'return one card on the field to the owner's hand,' can likely be activated during the opponent's turn as well."

Yuma was shocked: "Nani? Such a powerful ability..."

"It is indeed a troublesome power." Astral said, "But the opponent hasn't used this ability yet, likely because they feel they haven't seen a monster threatening enough to them yet."

In other words, as long as Fujiki You Xuan performs a Synchro Summon, and Xingye Zhenwu judges that the Synchro monster is threatening enough, he will immediately use Pleiades' effect to bounce it back to the Extra Deck.

In that case, Fujiki You Xuan would lose all the materials used for the Synchro Summon, maximizing his loss. And on Xingye Zhenwu's side, the disruption ability of Pleiades would also achieve maximum benefit.

But Astral then smiled: "However, Fujiki You Xuan must already have his own ideas, just watch."

Fujiki You Xuan: "Infernity Archer, attack!"

Receiving the order, Infernity Archer's entire body seemed to ignite with flames, as if fire from the depths of hell gathered on the bow and arrow in his hands, turning into a spiraling vortex that seemed ready to be released at any moment as the bowstring was pulled taut.

"Are you crazy?" Xingye Zhenwu frowned, "Pleiades' ATK is higher than Archer's."

"I know, but who said I was going to attack Pleiades?" Fujiki You Xuan smiled, "The effect of Infernity Archer: when my hand is zero, this card can attack the opponent player directly!"

Xingye Zhenwu: "!"
