Chapter 1455: Elements VS Predaplant

"Predaplant? What a sinister-looking monster," Judai said, peering at it. "What kind of effect does it have? It looks quite interesting..."

Yubel calmly commented, "Probably only an idiot with nerves as thick as yours would find this thing interesting."

This monster, whose tail was an extension of the sinister plant's lower root system and resembled a scorpion made of vegetation, was projected so vividly in 3D that most normal people would likely feel physically uncomfortable just looking at it.

"The monster effect of Predaplant Ophrys Scorpio. When this card is successfully summoned, I can send one monster from my hand to the Graveyard to Special Summon a 'Predaplant' monster from my Deck, other than 'Predaplant Ophrys Scorpio'."

Yuri selected a card from his hand and sent it to the Graveyard. Immediately after, a card from his Deck popped out automatically, and he slapped it back onto his Duel Disk.

"Special Summon 'Predaplant Darlingtonia Cobra' from the Deck!"

What flew out from the Deck was still the image of a plant, rooting itself into the ground and growing rapidly as if accelerating its growth. Its vine root system resembled a swaying snake, and its head opened into two shocking, man-eating petals.

【Predaplant Darlingtonia Cobra, ATK 1000】

"Then, the effect of Darlingtonia Cobra also activates," Yuri continued. "When 'Predaplant Darlingtonia Cobra' is successfully Special Summoned by the effect of a 'Predaplant' monster, I can add one 'Polymerization' Spell Card from my Deck to my hand." (Anime effect)

The physical card version of Predaplant also received quite a few buffs. For instance, Darlingtonia Cobra can not only search for "Polymerization" Spell Cards but also search for Spell Cards with "Fusion" in their name.

But in the anime, it can only search for the classic "Polymerization" Spell Card, and only that one card.

Judai rested his chin on his hand. "Oh~ it's the same type of effect as my Blazeman. It's getting more and more interesting."

Yuri drew the card that popped out from his Deck and displayed it.

"I add the Spell Card 'Polymerization' from my Deck to my hand," Yuri said. "Next, I activate the Spell Card 'Polymerization'! I fuse 'Predaplant Darlingtonia Cobra' and 'Predaplant Ophrys Scorpio' on the field!"

The Fusion condition is two DARK monsters!

Two bewitching flowers that lure insects with their fragrance, now become one. From the hell deep within those petals, a new threat is born. Fusion Summon—

—Appear! Dragon with the fangs of hunger, LV8! Starving Venom Fusion Dragon!"

Yuri's trump card, a ferocious giant plant that was both deadly and beautiful, wound its way up, and a dragon's body actually grew from its thick main trunk.

The giant dragon spread its massive wings, as if an enchanting flower were in full bloom. It was like a venomous plant growing from the depths of hell, its beautiful eyes radiating a dangerous light.

【Starving Venom Fusion Dragon, ATK 2800】

Yubel: "Judai, this dragon is no ordinary one."

"Yeah, I'm afraid it's one of Zarc's incarnations."

Judai's eyes briefly turned into golden pupils again, as if trying to see through the dragon to its essence and through to Zarc's soul.

Sure enough, through his extraordinary eyes, he seemed to clearly see the phantom of a demon overlapping with the dragon, its scarlet eyes filled with a craving for destruction and madness.

"The effect of Starving Venom Fusion Dragon activates!" Yuri said. "When this card is successfully Fusion Summoned using monsters on the field as Fusion Materials, this card's ATK increases by the total ATK of all Special Summoned monsters on the opponent's field until the end of the turn!" (Anime effect)

In terms of the strength of this effect alone, the anime version is stronger. In the anime, it can absorb the ATK of all Special Summoned monsters on the opponent's field, but the physical card can only absorb one.

However, the physical card doesn't require "using Fusion Materials present on the field" to be effective; it only says it can be activated when Starving Venom Fusion Dragon is Fusion Summoned, so the activation condition is actually relaxed.

But the anime effect of Starving Venom Fusion Dragon is truly fierce.

"The two Heroes on your field are both Special Summoned monsters. I'll take their power!" Yuri shouted. "Starving Venom Fusion Dragon, gain all of their ATK!"

Starving Venom Fusion Dragon let out a roar, and two beams of light were immediately extracted from Sunrise and Absolute Zero, both filling the dragon's body. The enraged dragon's body seemed to swell significantly in an instant, its entire body appearing as if it were burning with transparent flames.

【Starving Venom Fusion Dragon, ATK 2800 → ATK 8600】

"Oh oh, 8600 ATK right off the bat!" Judai's eyes lit up. "As expected of Zarc, he's really fierce!"

Starving Venom Fusion Dragon is indeed superior to the physical card version when it comes to OTK; by absorbing the ATK of all the opponent's monsters in one go, it can easily reach some outrageous ATK values. In fact, when this dragon first appeared in the anime, it was through an extreme OTK that highlighted Yuri's strength.

"That's right, although our acquaintance is brief, go die anyway!" Yuri shouted. "Starving Venom Fusion Dragon, attack 'Elemental HERO Sunrise'!"

The giant dragon opened its mouth again, and a dark red, terrifying vortex blasted out. The intense impact shook the space, like a death roar.

However, at the moment of this lethal blow, Judai curled the corner of his mouth, revealing a smile that said, "You've fallen for it."

"Activate face-down card, Trap Card 'Shift'!" Judai said. "When a monster on my field becomes the target of an attack or a card effect, this card allows two monsters to be swapped, shifting that effect or attack target to the monster I designate!"

He pointed to Absolute Zero on his field.

"Change your attack target to 'Elemental HERO Absolute Zero'!"

Thus, the chaotic impact spewed by Starving Venom Fusion Dragon suddenly turned, blasting toward the pure white ice warrior.

"But what difference does that make?" Yuri said coldly. "Whether it's Absolute Zero or Sunrise, their ATK is the same. Once the attack goes through, you're finished."

"Yeah, that's assuming your attack goes through." Judai said. "At this moment, the effect of Sunrise activates!

The other effect of Elemental HERO Sunrise! When another Hero monster on my field declares an attack, I can select any one card on the field and destroy it!"

Yuri frowned. "What did you say?"

"Just as it sounds, Sunrise's counterattack!" Judai said. "Destroy 'Starving Venom Fusion Dragon'!"

Sunrise crossed his arms over his chest, and golden light burst from his entire body again. That sun-like radiance enveloped Absolute Zero, like a golden barrier, and while receiving the chaotic breath, it surged back with great force! ===== CHAPTER 1456 =====
