Chapter 146: Last Words

"'Machine King - Barbaros Ur', attack 'The Winged Dragon of Ra - Sphere Mode'!"

The Machine King let out a roar that shook the heavens, echoing like thunder in the heart of the battlefield. Its red armor shimmered with a cold, piercing light, its massive frame riding the very thunder!

"I activate my face-down card," Fujiki You Xuan said. "Continuous Trap - Soul Barrier!"

"As long as I control a monster, any battle damage I take becomes 0."

The Phoenix God was pierced by the thunder, exploding into a fireball with a boom. But the flames seemed to form a burning barrier, blocking the aftermath of the Machine King's charge.

"So you blocked the damage. But it's far from over." Tenma Yako smiled. "The special ability of 'Machine King - Barbaros Ur' allows me to select a number of attack targets equal to its Level within one turn." (Original effect)

This manga-style description wasn't exactly standard, but by analogy to the physical card game, it was similar to the effect of 'Chimeratech Overdragon'. "Additional attack targets" likely referred to the opponent's monsters; in other words, the number of attacks it could make on the opponent's monsters in one turn was equal to its Level.

"The Machine King is Level 8, so I can choose eight attack targets in one turn!"

Keipa's expression couldn't help but change slightly. "A monster that can attack eight times in one turn!?"

But Fujiki You Xuan remained calm.

Small potatoes.

If you've seen a Chimeratech Overdragon with over ten thousand attack points hitting a dozen times in a single turn, this level of power really isn't worth making a fuss over.

Yako shouted: "Machine King's second attack! Attack 'Mystic Tomato'!"

The little tomato had no power to resist and was instantly crushed into fragments under the peerless divine power.

"But because of 'Soul Barrier', the damage I take is still 0," Fujiki You Xuan said. "And I activate the effect of 'Mystic Tomato'. When destroyed by battle, I can Special Summon a DARK monster with 1500 or less ATK from my Deck."

"I Special Summon my second 'Mystic Tomato'!"

【Mystic Tomato, ATK 1400】

"Useless! Then the Machine King makes its third attack!"

Tomato No. 2 had just landed before being crushed again, but Fujiki You Xuan continued to draw the searched card from his Deck: "Because of the effect of 'Soul Barrier', there is still no battle damage."

"And I Special Summon my third 'Mystic Tomato'!"

【Mystic Tomato, ATK 1400】

"Meaningless. The Machine King's fourth attack!"

The loyal little tomatoes were wiped out, but Fujiki You Xuan continued: "Then, according to the effect of Mystic Tomato, I Special Summon a DARK monster with 1400 or less ATK."

"I Special Summon 'Apprentice Magician' in Attack Position!"

【Apprentice Magician, ATK 400】

Yako: "Then the fifth attack, destroy 'Apprentice Magician'!"

The Apprentice Magician also left the field immediately, but the damage was still blocked by 'Soul Barrier'. Fujiki You Xuan immediately drew another automatically searched card from his Deck.

"Apprentice Magician was destroyed by battle, so I set a Level 2 or lower Spellcaster-type monster from my Deck. I set Apprentice Magician No. 2."

The onlookers: "..."

Is he really that good at stalling?

Yako couldn't help but frown slightly: "Then the Machine King's sixth attack."

Apprentice Magician No. 2 also left the field, but as expected, Fujiki You Xuan flew out No. 3.

"The seventh attack," Yako ordered.

Apprentice No. 3 also left the field, but its last words were triggered once again. Fujiki You Xuan drew another card from his Deck: "I set 'Magician of Faith' from my Deck to the field."

Yako waved his hand again: "The eighth attack."

This was also the Machine King's final attack. The lethal eight-hit combo finally broke through this long chain of last words. Magician of Faith left the field, but Fujiki You Xuan followed up by drawing a card that popped out of the Graveyard.

"When Magician of Faith is flipped, I add a Spell Card from my Graveyard to my hand. I recover the Spell Card 'Raigeki'."

The card professors couldn't help but grow nervous again: "He recovered Raigeki. Is he going to clear the field and launch a counterattack next turn?"

With Raigeki revealed, the pressure suddenly returned to Tenma Yako's side.

Yako frowned slightly, but continued: "But my attacks aren't over yet. Now that your walls are cleared, I'll follow up with a direct attack from 'Twin-Headed Behemoth'!"

The Twin-Headed Behemoth charged head-on toward Fujiki You Xuan's empty field.

But just as it was about to hit, a flash of gold appeared in his hand, and the fluffy little Kuriboh actually jumped onto the field with a "Kuri-Kuri," actively blocking the strike!

Yu-Gi-Oh! really is a magical game. Kuriboh actually jumps out to take a hit; it's unbelievable.

"You discarded 'Kuriboh' to make the battle damage 0?"

Yako said in a deep voice.

"To think you could defend to this extent... However, the special effect of 'Twin-Headed Behemoth' allows this card to attack twice in one turn."

"Twin-Headed Behemoth's second strike!"

This attack finally broke through the heavy defenses, hitting Fujiki You Xuan with great difficulty. Fujiki You Xuan staggered back two steps.

【Fujiki You Xuan, LP 4000 -> LP 2300】

The card professors took a deep breath.

His Life Points finally dropped...

Even from an onlooker's perspective, they could feel how hard-won this hit was. Ten full attacks in one turn, and all of them were caught...

"I set one more card, turn end."

"My turn, draw."

Yako acted immediately: "Open face-down card, Trap Card - 'Tyrant's Temper'! This card can only be activated during the opponent's Standby Phase; the opponent cannot enter the Battle Phase this turn!"

Tiramu outside the field: "Indeed, this way he can block the opponent's offense to the maximum extent. But to think Master Tenma was forced to use such means to delay the situation..."

"Indeed," another card professor nodded. "It shows that the pressure given by the opponent has reached such a level."

This was already a duel that transcended their level as lackeys.

"Activate Spell Card 'Pot of Greed', draw two cards." Fujiki You Xuan also accelerated his draw, added them to his hand, and then pulled out the card he had recovered last turn. "Spell Card 'Raigeki'!"

"Destroy all monsters on both sides of the field!"

Recovered through the magical ability of Magician of Faith, the power of the strongest field-clearing Spell reappeared. Yako's powerful Machine King and Twin-Headed Behemoth vanished helplessly into the celestial vortex, crushed into dust in an instant.

Instant field clear!

Fujiki You Xuan: "Then I set a monster on the field, turn end."

"How dangerous. If it weren't for 'Tyrant's Temper' to defend, I might have been finished off this turn after Raigeki," a card professor couldn't help but say.

The others didn't speak, but they were all calculating in their hearts.

If either of these two were replaced by themselves, they would have probably died several times over by now...
