Chapter 176: What Did You Summon?

Angel O7, summon!

Master Tianma Gekkou: "As long as Angel O7 remains on the field, all monster effects on your opponent's field cannot be activated!" (Original effect)

So that's how the original effect works. Fujiki You Xuan understood at once.

He only remembered the real-card effect of O7. Compared to that, the real-card O7 imposed a far stronger lock—not just on monsters on the field, but on any monster in hand, graveyard, or even banished.

But the real-card O7 was a double-edged sword: while sealing the opponent's effects, it sealed his own too. Once summoned, neither side could activate any effects, whereas the original version only locked the opponent's.

Meanwhile, the real-card O7 required "only through a Tribute Summon" to activate. The manga version had no such restriction—any special summon method would still trigger its lock.

If the summon condition became simpler, this pressure suddenly became terrifying.

"That's Master Tianma Gekkou's ace," Sanze couldn't help swallowing. "It's definitely powerful. But with its attack power alone, it still can't match Chaos Warrior."

Sanze hadn't finished his thought before Gekkou interrupted: "Activate the spell card 'Dark Temptation.' Draw two cards from your deck, then banish one Dark-attribute monster from your hand."

"So I draw two cards."

Gekkou drew two cards.

"Then banish from my hand the Dark-attribute monster 'Dark Hou Jue Belial.'"

He raised a card; it seemed absorbed into a black vortex opening midair, vanishing.

"But now activate the equip spell 'Dimensional Reincarnation!'" Gekkou said. "Discard one card from hand to return one banished monster to the field in attack position!"

He drew another card from hand and sent it to the graveyard.

"Thus, reincarnate the banished 'Dark Hou Jue Belial!'"

The dimensional vortex opened again. The marquis, with dark wings like a fallen angel, descended from the black whirlpool. He held a massive black sword; dark feathers drifted down from the air.

【Dark Hou Jue Belial, ATK 2800】

Another of the two Master Tianma brothers' main monsters in the manga.

"Not done yet. Next, banish these two cards from the graveyard—each discarded by 'Angel's Gift' and 'Dimensional Reincarnation.'"

Two cards left the graveyard; Gekkou revealed two cards from hand at once.

"Rock-type 'Golem' and Rock-type 'Rock Spirit—Titan'—two Rock-type monsters banished!"

As the two Rock monsters vanished into the vortex, the duel field's ground cracked. Massive rocks shattered and flew in all directions; thunderous roars followed as a colossal figure slowly emerged from the earth.

A giant formed of solid rock, every inch of its skin radiating cold, unyielding energy. It stood tall, its body piercing the clouds.

Earth Giant—Gaia Stoneplate, summon!

【Earth Giant—Gaia Stoneplate, ATK 2800】

Fujiki You Xuan glanced sideways.

How do you have Jim's card?

This card also appeared in GX—it was Jim's ace from the Dimensional World arc.

Hmm, but considering Master Tianma Gekkou is one of the heads of the world's top card company, having rare cards isn't surprising.

"This is my full power now!"

Gekkou declared.

"First, Gaia Stoneplate, attack 'Chaos Warrior—Messenger of the Opening!'"

Asuka gasped: "Attacking with a monster of lower ATK?"

There's definitely a trick here.

"Gaia Stoneplate's effect: the opponent's monster battling this one has its ATK halved only during damage calculation!"

【Chaos Warrior—Messenger of the Opening, ATK 3000 → ATK 1500】

The rock giant swung a punch like a thunderclap. The Chaos Warrior, suppressed by Gaia's power, could not withstand it—his shield shattered under the blow, and he dissolved into golden sparks and retreated.

【Fujiki You Xuan, LP 2000 → LP 700】

"Direct attack with 'Angel O7!'" Gekkou shouted.

He still had two major monsters not yet attacked; victory seemed within reach.

Yet just as his brother Yehang had felt when victory was one step away.

He sensed this attack wouldn't pass so easily.

"Activate the trap card," Fujiki You Xuan said. "Quick-play spell—Scapegoat."

"Special summon four 'Sheep Tokens' as defense."

【Sheep Token, DEF 0】x4

As expected.

Gekkou frowned slightly.

"Then 'Dark Hou Jue Belial' and 'Angel O7,' each destroy one 'Sheep Token!'"

His two remaining monsters struck. Blade flashes cut through; blue and red sheep were sliced apart, exploding into dissipating light.

Gekkou exhaled a long, heavy breath.

Still just a little short.

"End of my turn."

But this was also his limit.

"Phew~ That was close," Fujiki You Xuan smiled. "Mr. Master Tianma really pressed hard. Such fierce offense is hard to endure."

Close?

Master Tianma Gekkou fell silent.

From him, not a trace of tension could be felt.

After a moment's thought, Gekkou smiled lightly. "May I ask you a question, Mr. Fujiki You Xuan?"

"Go ahead."

"No ulterior motive—just genuine curiosity."

Gekkou said softly.

"Mr. Fujiki You Xuan, when was the last time you fought with your full strength?"

Fujiki You Xuan: "..."

Sanze and Asuka both turned to him with questioning looks.

They too were deeply curious about this question.

But Fujiki You Xuan only smiled helplessly.

"I don't know why everyone always says that, but right now, facing Mr. Master Tianma, I'm being serious."

"I see. Well, sorry—I overstepped."

Gekkou nodded and asked no more.

"My turn, draw."

Fujiki You Xuan glanced at the drawn card and laid it down immediately.

"Spell card—'Book of Secret Arts.' Both players draw three cards." (Original card)

After drawing again, he took a deep breath.

"Alright, since Mr. Master Tianma feels that way, this turn I'll summon one of the strongest aces in this deck to break this deadlock."

"I think this will prove to Mr. Master Tianma that I'm truly serious?"

Master Tianma Gekkou instantly perked up, his nerves tensing instinctively, ready for anything.

One of the strongest aces?

He immediately recalled the duel record Yehang had shared with him.

The one that utterly crushed Yehang—the Chaos Warrior's latest form, epically enhanced, absurdly powerful.

Is he about to reveal that here?

Fujiki You Xuan had already played one card from hand.

"Spell card—'Sudden Mutation!'"

"Sacrifice a monster on your field to special summon a Fusion Monster of the same level!"

He pointed to one of his own obscure little lambs.

"Sacrifice the Level 1 'Sheep Token' to transform!"

"By the ritual of offering—summon the Eye of Temptation—"

"—Level 1, Thousand-Eyed Offering Demon, summon!"

Master Tianma Gekkou: "???"

You summoned... what the hell?
