Chapter 216: Spirit Mirror

Very good, now the big brother's only card he could play is gone too.

The fiend's four eyes were red.

"Roar ah ah ah!"

The four-eyed fiend looked up and roared.

"Kill you! I want to kill you!"

The roar shook the sky, as if the whole venue was trembling. The younger brothers were all shivering, retreating one after another, fearing that they would be affected by the big brother's anger.

"Don't be so angry in a duel."

Fujiki You Xuan remained calm under the anger of the fiend big brother, just smiling and raising his hand again.

"Because of the effect of 'Big Cold Wave', the remaining four cards in your hand cannot be activated or set this turn. Then I assume your turn should be over?"

Four-eyed fiend: "..."

"If you don't object, I'll take it as such." Fujiki You Xuan said. "My turn, draw card."

"At the moment of the Standby Phase, according to the effect of 'Nightmare's Mirage', I draw cards until I have four cards in my hand."

Fujiki You Xuan drew cards, then discarded two cards from his hand. But one of them soon exited again.

"One of the discarded cards is the Spell card 'Compensation of Blood', this card can be sent from the hand to the graveyard to draw two cards from the deck."

He then drew another card from his hand.

"Then activate the Spell card 'The Cheerful Coffin', pay 1000 Life Points, randomly discard one card from the opponent's hand. Then the opponent chooses one to discard."

【Fujiki You Xuan, LP 4000 → LP 3000】

Fujiki You Xuan randomly specified one of the opponent's cards. The four-eyed big brother gritted his teeth, and after his back teeth were almost crushed, he finally picked a card in his hand slowly.

Two little fiends, one red and one blue, flew out, with numbers 1 and 2 printed on their heads respectively. The two fiends grinned and hugged his two cards and left.

Resource -2, the hand instantly became only two cards left. The fiend's four eyes were about to split.

Damn it, not letting me set cards last turn was just to destroy my hand directly this turn...

"Then flip the set monster on the field."

Fujiki You Xuan flipped the set monster on the duel disk to attack position. It was a blacksmith with red skin holding a hammer.

"Iron Blacksmith Kotetsu, when flipped, add an Equip Spell card from the deck to the hand."

"The one I want to add to my hand is this one..."

Fujiki You Xuan drew a card retrieved from the deck.

"Equip Spell 'Smoke Grenade of the Thief'."

The four-eyed fiend hadn't heard of this thing. But combined with this person's performance in the duel so far, the big brother had a premonition that it was definitely not a good thing.

"Normal Summon 'Gearfried the Iron Knight'."

【Gearfried the Iron Knight, ATK 1800】

"Then activate Equip Spell 'Smoke Grenade of the Thief', equip it to 'Gearfried the Iron Knight'." Fujiki You Xuan said. "However, Gearfried's own effect. When this card is equipped with an Equip Card, that Equip Card is directly destroyed."

"Therefore, according to Gearfried's own effect, 'Smoke Grenade of the Thief' is destroyed."

The group of fiends: "?"

The fiends were confused again. What is the point of equipping it when you know your monster can't be equipped?

If it were at the beginning of the duel last turn, the four-eyed fiend might have started mocking the opponent for forgetting the effect. But after being tortured in the last turn, the big brother didn't dare to underestimate this person at all, and instinctively felt that there must be a trick in any meaningless operation.

"Smoke Grenade of the Thief, effect activate." Fujiki You Xuan smiled. "When this card equipped to a monster is destroyed by the effect of another card, you can check the opponent's hand and choose one to discard."

Four-eyed fiend: "!!!"

Again?

Don't, I've already been seen through, are you still coming?

Gearfried plus Smoke Grenade, the combination of effects just happens to achieve the combo of checking the hand and precision discarding one card. So it is conceivable that the combination of these two cards was naturally absorbed by the "Gearfried Butterfly Dagger" deck back then, as another tactical route that can be adopted when the infinite loop of Butterfly Dagger cannot be achieved.

The interference of being able to precisely discard a hand card is still quite powerful, and it can also pave the way for the infinite loop one-turn kill.

But compared to Butterfly Dagger, the Gearfried Smoke Grenade combo didn't have such a big impact on the competition, so although this combination has always existed, this old card has been safe and sound in the card pool for twenty years without attracting any attention.

Until later, a new deck called "Infernoble Knight" came out, pulling this old card that had been unknown for twenty years to work overtime, and finally ended up in prison in its later years.

Another hand card was blown up, the fiend stared at the only card left in his hand with his four eyes, his eyes almost filled with tears.

He felt that he hadn't done anything in this game, the duel hadn't even started yet, and he only had one card left in confusion...

"Spell card 'Armed Regeneration'." Fujiki You Xuan said. "You can equip an Equip Card from your or your opponent's graveyard to a monster on your field."

It is also a Spell card from the DM side story, and it was also made into a real card nearly twenty years later. However, the original version of this card is a Normal Spell, and the real card was changed to a Quick-Play Spell.

The fiend big brother's eyelids jumped, and his breathing became rapid again: "The Equip Spell in the graveyard, Ma Saka (could it be)!?"

"Not bad, I equip 'Smoke Grenade of the Thief' to Gearfried the Iron Knight again."

Fujiki You Xuan drew the card that exited from the graveyard and smiled slightly.

"Then Gearfried's effect, Smoke Grenade of the Thief is destroyed again. Therefore, according to 'Smoke Grenade of the Thief's' effect, I check your hand again and choose one to discard..."

"Of course, I've checked it three times, there's nothing to see. Let's just discard your last card too."

Four-eyed fiend: "..."

Very good, now he doesn't even have a card left.

"Then Gearfried the Iron Knight, Iron Blacksmith Kotetsu, direct attack." Fujiki You Xuan ordered.

Iron Knight and Kotetsu rushed out one after another, the sharp blade pierced the heart, and the hammer hit the fiend's head hard.

【Four-eyed fiend, LP 4000 → LP 1700】

The two monsters took turns to hammer the four-eyed fiend until he saw stars, almost shedding tears of humiliation.

It was not only physical pain, but also spiritual pain.

He had never had such a strong desire to have a sense of participation in a duel as he did today.

Please, let me play a card...

"Set one card on the field, turn end." Fujiki You Xuan said.

The four-eyed fiend took a deep breath and stood up again.

Not over yet.

His Life Points still remain, and the duel is not over yet.

Not to mention anything else.

At least try to play a card?

"My turn, draw card!"

The fiend's four eyes instantly had light.

Very good!

"Activate Spell card 'Pot of Greed'!" The four-eyed fiend said. "Draw two cards from the deck!"

Drawing two more cards might bring a chance for a counterattack...

"Then activate set card." Fujiki You Xuan said. "Trap card - Trap in the Dark. When your Life Points are 3000 or less, pay 1000 Life Points, this card can gain the effect of a Trap card in the graveyard, and then banish that Trap from play."

【Fujiki You Xuan, LP 3000 → LP 2000】

Four-eyed fiend: "?"

At this juncture? Gain the effect of a Trap in the graveyard?

What is this going to gain...

"Therefore, I let 'Trap in the Dark' gain the effect of 'Spirit Mirror' in the graveyard." Fujiki You Xuan smiled.

The Trap card in the backrow changed into the card image of Spirit Mirror with a burst of golden light. The spirit flew out, holding a round mirror in her hand, and the image of "Pot of Greed" was reflected on the mirror.

The four-eyed fiend's eyelids jumped.

This development, could it be... could it be...

His breathing became rapid, his throat began to dry, and his face gradually changed from the shock of realizing the problem to despair...

"Not bad, 'Spirit Mirror' can transfer the spell effect on one player to another." Fujiki You Xuan smiled. "Therefore, I transfer the effect of your 'Pot of Greed' to myself."

"So I draw two cards from the deck."

Fujiki You Xuan drew two cards, then smiled and made a "please" gesture again.

"Come, it's still your turn. You continue."

Four-eyed big brother: "Ah ah ah ah ah!!!!"

Still empty hand and empty field, and the opponent drew two more cards.

How can this still be played?

Stupid Spirit Mirror, it's simply fucking the warden. You eat my Big Cold Wave, and I eat your Pot of Greed, right?

What kind of fiend can come up with such a hellish tactic?

"Don't plan to continue? Then it's my turn again, draw card."

Fujiki You Xuan waved his hand casually.

"Then, Gearfried the Iron Knight's direct attack."

Iron Knight's sharp blade slashed down, the four-eyed fiend ended his incompetent rage and was slashed to the ground on his back.

【Four-eyed fiend, LP 1700 → LP 0】
