Chapter 261: Deck-Top Control Ability

Frost and Flame Dragon, summon!

【Frost and Flame Dragon, ATK 2300】

"Frost and Flame Dragon's effect, once per turn, by discarding one card from my hand, I can destroy one monster on the field."

Delta picked a card from his hand and sent it to the Graveyard.

"Destroy the monster you covered on the field!"

After clearing the back row, it was the front row. The fire dragon head of Frost and Flame Dragon opened its mouth, flames spewed out, instantly burning Fujiki You Xuan's covered monster to ashes.

Fujiki You Xuan looked at the empty field in front of him: "Well, it seems there is some skill."

Frost and Flame Dragon, when it was released in the physical card environment back then, was also a high-quality single card whose potential was immediately discovered by players, and it had appeared in many practical builds in the environment at that time.

Some people might wonder, what's strong about this thing? It has the same ATK/DEF stats as Chaos Sorcerer, and the summoning condition requires "banishing two WATER monsters and one FIRE monster from the Graveyard," which is obviously more troublesome to summon than Chaos Sorcerer.

And it can only destroy monsters and also needs to lose a card from the hand, while Chaos Sorcerer can banish the opponent's monster directly from the game once per turn without losing a card...

Well, the analysis is very reasonable, there is only one problem.

The environment in which Frost and Flame Dragon appeared was 2007. That year, Chaos Sorcerer, like its predecessor Big Envoy, was a forbidden card.

Can only say that those ancient environments can no longer be understood by the values of modern Yu-Gi-Oh! players.

"I said, I am the most excellent one among all brothers... although I am not proud of it."

Delta said, pausing for a moment.

A tall figure appeared in his mind involuntarily.

The man whom all these AI called "Father," with his hands behind his back, his face almost indistinguishable under the dazzling sunlight.

But the man said to him in a cold voice: "Truly worthy of being my most excellent son."

Delta: "..."

Pondering for two seconds, he shook off the picture in his mind.

"In this way, your field is blank." Delta said. "Direct attack with 'Frost and Flame Dragon'."

The dragon intertwined with ice and fire twisted its body, flames and cold ice intertwined and roared out, but only hit a transparent barrier in front of Fujiki You Xuan.

"What?" Delta frowned.

"The monster you just destroyed that was covered is 'Winged Kuriboh'."

Fujiki You Xuan revealed the monster card ejected from his Graveyard.

"For the entire turn that Winged Kuriboh is destroyed, the battle damage I take is 0."

"Such small fry..."

As expected of an AI designed with the President as a prototype, even this trash-talking habit can't be changed.

"Then, set one card face-down, turn end."

"My turn, draw." Fujiki You Xuan said. "Then, I also activate Spell Card 'Graceful Charity' from my hand, draw three cards from the Deck, then discard two cards from my hand."

Two cards were discarded into the Graveyard, but soon another one was ejected from it.

"One of the discarded cards is Spell Card 'Compensated Treasure', draw two more cards when sent from hand to Graveyard." (Original card)

Following that, Fujiki You Xuan drew this Spell card ejected from the Graveyard, and at the same time revealed a monster in his hand.

"The effect of 'Magical Attacker' in my hand. This card can be Special Summoned by banishing a Spell card from my Graveyard.

I banish Spell Card 'Compensated Treasure' from my Graveyard, Special Summon 'Magical Attacker'!"

【Magical Attacker, ATK 700】

"Then use 'Magical Attacker' as an Offering!" Fujiki You Xuan raised his hand. "The master of the sky, the incarnation of the storm, descend here——

——Raiza the Storm Monarch, summon!"

The virtual clouds surged, forming a huge vortex. The green storm swept through the space of data, the Monarch of Wind rode the hurricane and arrived, and even the abyss seemed to be stirred into chaos by the storm.

【Raiza the Storm Monarch, ATK 2400】

"Actually a Monarch?" Delta's expression changed slightly.

The Monarch series, also legendary top-tier rare cards, mainly based on "Tribute Summon," it is said that every attribute of the Monarch has the powerful ability to instantly rewrite the battle situation and guide victory upon appearance.

And in previous intelligence, Fujiki You Xuan had never used the power of the Monarch.

"Raiza the Storm Monarch's effect, when Tribute Summoned successfully, return one card on the field to the top of the owner's Deck." Fujiki You Xuan said. "I return 'Darkstorm Dragon' to the top of the Deck!

Monarch Storm Crack!"

The green hurricane rolled up, the strong wind drowned the dark dragon, until the dragon couldn't bear the load and disappeared in the storm, turning into a golden light and flying back to the top of Delta's Deck.

"Return to the top of the Deck..." Delta's face became a bit solemn. "Not just removing, but even erasing the possibility of the next draw.

Is this the terrifying ability of the Storm Monarch..."

This is also the place where Fujiki You Xuan, after analysis, felt that the Storm Monarch is more powerful in the anime than in the physical card version.

His effect is not only a universal solution that can bounce any card on the field, but also possesses the powerful ability of "deck-top control." Raiza the Storm Monarch can let himself decide what the opponent draws in the next turn, and can completely choose to bounce the waste pieces that the opponent cannot use immediately in the next turn back to the top of the deck.

This move was very effective and often used even in the physical card environment back then, and it goes without saying in the anime. Because this is equivalent to strangling the opponent's possibility of a god-draw in the next turn.

Except for the very few players with "hacker-level" Fate Power—like Yuma Tsukumo from the fourth series, who once performed the miraculous feat of printing a Rank-Up Magic spell into a new card right in front of his opponent after drawing it.

Of course, that is already a top-tier powerhouse whose destiny power is strong enough to rewrite reality, and generally, it has to be in a limited situation where the atmosphere is in place to explode.

Normally, the opportunity for the next draw is erased, and even if you want to god-draw, you have no way to play.

This is the most terrifying part of Raiza the Storm Monarch.

"Return 'Darkstorm Dragon' to the top of the Deck!" Fujiki You Xuan said.

In this way, Delta's next draw will inevitably be "Darkstorm Dragon." He has two cards left in his hand, and the one drawn back is a Level 8 big monster; without new card replenishment, it should theoretically be very difficult to summon it.

"Then 'Raiza the Storm Monarch' attacks 'Frost and Flame Dragon'!"

The Storm Monarch raised his arms, and the storm instantly dominated the field. The small vortex quickly expanded into a swirling airflow, and dense wind blades slashed across the body of the ice-fire giant dragon, and the giant dragon retreated with a wail.

【Delta, LP 4000 → LP 3900】

"Then set four cards, turn end."

Fujiki You Xuan waved his hand, four cards set in the back row, then smiled and made a "please" gesture.

Come, it's your turn, please draw a card.

Of course, we all know what you will draw.
