Chapter 300

Thestalos the Firestorm Monarch, Summon!

【Thestalos the Firestorm Monarch, ATK 2400】

Fujiki You Xuan immediately raised an eyebrow.

Good fellow, so the true form of that dark spirit was actually a Monarch.

But this is too much of a coincidence.

How did you know I was collecting Monarchs?

Can you believe the strongest of the early Monarchs was delivered right to my door? And it's even a version with a spirit.

Fujiki You Xuan's gaze toward the Underworld Overlord softened instantly, and he suddenly felt glad that this person had jumped out on his own. Otherwise, if he had left directly after getting the artifact, wouldn't he have missed such a generous gift package?

However, the Overlord of the Dark Demon Realm was immersed in the inflation of gaining power and seemed completely unaware of the strangeness in Fujiki You Xuan's gaze. He was laughing loudly at this moment.

"Having gained the power of the Monarch, you now have no chance left!" the Overlord of the Dark Demon Realm shouted. "Thestalos the Firestorm Monarch, effect activate!

When Lord Monarch is successfully Tribute Summoned, banish any one card on the field from the game!

Banish 'Forest Guardian - Green Baboon' from the game!"

The Underworld Overlord wore a ferocious expression.

"The immortal baboon is indeed tricky, but it's useless before the great power of Lord Monarch! Disappear, trash!"

The Monarch crossed his palms, and dark energy fluctuations that twisted space were triggered, hitting the Green Baboon head-on. The baboon roared in unwillingness, but its body was still quickly twisted into the pitch-black fluctuations and disappeared to the other side of the dimension.

"With this, that thing can no longer revive." Red light flashed in the Underworld Overlord's eyes. "Then activate Equip Magic 'Claws of the Dark Dragon'!

Equip it to Lord Monarch, ATK increases by 600!"

【Thestalos the Firestorm Monarch, ATK 2400 → ATK 3000】

"And, Lord Monarch equipped with 'Claws of the Dark Dragon' cannot be destroyed by the opponent's card effects.

Even if destroyed by battle, he can immediately revive from the Graveyard and equip this card again!"

The Underworld Overlord held his arms high and laughed like a madman.

"I am now invincible having gained the power of the Monarch! Lord Monarch's attack, continue to crush the small fry! Attack 'Nimble Momonga'!"

The Monarch's palms once again brewed a pitch-black energy ball, ready to burst forth from his chest.

"Can't be destroyed by effects, and revives even if destroyed by battle, too terrifying..."

Fujiki You Xuan snapped his fingers.

"Then activate set card. Trap Card 'Phoenix Wing Wind Blast', discard one card from hand, select one card on the opponent's field and return it to the top of the owner's deck!"

He pointed at the Monarch who was sharpening his blade and preparing to attack.

"Then let's choose 'Thestalos the Firestorm Monarch', please return to the top of the deck for me."

The Underworld Overlord's eyeballs almost popped out.

"Nani!?"

Not destruction, but bouncing back to the deck?

Yamero (Stop)!

"No!" the Underworld Overlord screamed. "Lord Monarch! Lord Monarch, don't abandon me..."

Phoenix Wing Wind Blast was a derivative of the power of the Winged Dragon of Ra, and the phantom of the Winged Dragon of Ra appeared briefly in mid-air, its wings flapping to stir up a fiery storm. The Monarch was swallowed in the whirlwind of flames, his figure gradually turning into a phantom until he turned back into a ball of black mist and flew back to the top of the deck.

"AAAAHHHH!!!" the Underworld Overlord roared.

Bounced back to the deck, it's bounced back to the deck again!

"Then, 'Claws of the Dark Dragon' which lost its equip target is also destroyed." Fujiki You Xuan smiled. "Of course, it's still your turn. Continue."

"."

A few seconds of silence.

The Overlord of the Dark Demon Realm gritted his teeth before continuing.

"I set two cards on the field, turn end."

He let out a long breath.

It wasn't over yet, Lord Monarch hadn't completely abandoned him.

His set cards still hid the last chance, the last hope.

"My turn, draw." Fujiki You Xuan said. "Activate Trap 'Destruction Cure', destroy a monster on my field and recover Life Points equal to that monster's ATK value.

I destroy the 'Nimble Momonga' on my field and recover 1000 Life Points."

One of the two flying squirrels exploded with a bang, and the nutrients overflowing from its body were absorbed into Fujiki You Xuan's body.

【Fujiki You Xuan, LP3000 → LP4000】

The Overlord of the Dark Demon Realm had a solemn expression.

Life Point recovery... no, that's not the goal.

"Then the effect of the other 'Forest Guardian - Green Baboon' existing in the Graveyard activates at this moment." Fujiki You Xuan said. "When a Beast-type monster on my field is destroyed, pay 1000 Life Points, Green Baboon revives!"

【Fujiki You Xuan, LP4000 → LP3000】

The vortex of the Graveyard opened, and the wild baboon jumped out again, roaring at the empty field of the Underworld Overlord.

【Forest Guardian - Green Baboon, ATK 2600】

The Underworld Overlord was furious: "This thing again..."

"Forest Guardian - Green Baboon, direct attack."

The Green Baboon shouted, leaped forward, and threw a punch directly at his face.

It's coming!

The red light in the eyes of the Overlord of the Dark Demon Realm grew brighter.

His last chance, his counterattack!

"Trap Card - Counter Gate!" Black energy permeated his whole body. "When the opponent's monster declares a direct attack, negate that attack and draw one card from the deck.

If the drawn card is a monster card, that monster can be Summoned in Attack Position!"

"Oh? It's actually Counter Gate." Fujiki You Xuan understood.

"Not bad." The Overlord of the Dark Demon Realm grinned hideously. "And thanks to you, we all know the top card of my deck is naturally a monster card!"

"But the effect of Counter Gate is a 'Normal Summon', if it's a level 5 or higher monster, it requires Offerings." Fujiki You Xuan reminded him, cutting off the opponent's attempt to cheat. "Even if you draw the Monarch, you can't summon it."

"Hahahaha, did you think I hadn't considered even this?" the Underworld Overlord shouted. "Chain activate Continuous Trap 'Image of the Cursed', it can be Special Summoned on my field as a monster card!"

【Image of the Cursed, DEF 1000】

"So that's it." Fujiki You Xuan nodded. "You specially prepared another Trap Monster for this."

"Next, process the effect of 'Counter Gate'. Green Baboon's attack is negated, and I draw from the deck!"

The Underworld Overlord drew a card and then hissed.

"Use 'Image of the Cursed' as an Offering, appear once again from the endless darkness, lend me your supreme power—

——Thestalos the Firestorm Monarch, Summon again!"

In the dark storm, the scarlet eyes were lit up, and the evil Monarch returned from the abyss!

【Thestalos the Firestorm Monarch, ATK 2400】

"Lord Monarch's effect, successfully Tribute Summoned, banish one card on the field from the game!"

The Overlord of the Dark Demon Realm laughed at the top of his lungs.

"Banish the second immortal Green Baboon for me too!"

The Monarch crossed his palms, and twisted dark fluctuations blasted out, swallowing the Green Baboon, which disappeared once again in the dimensional distortion.

"With this, there is no Green Baboon in your Graveyard, the immortality is completely broken!"

The Underworld Overlord laughed, as if he had finally vented his long-suppressed frustration.

"How about it? Can you understand a little bit now? This is the unparalleled power of Lord Monarch!"

"It's indeed very powerful, even two Green Baboons were taken out."

Fujiki You Xuan sighed, acting helpless, as if he had made a difficult decision.

"No choice, it can only be like this...

Activate Trap 'Dark Tribute Summon'.

Return a monster with 2400 or more ATK and 1000 DEF from the Graveyard to the hand, then Tribute Summon a monster with 2400 or more ATK and 1000 DEF from the hand.

Therefore, I take this card discarded by 'Phoenix Wing Wind Blast' last turn..."

Fujiki You Xuan drew a card that had exited from the Graveyard.

"'Raiza the Storm Monarch' returns to the hand.

Then use the last remaining 'Nimble Momonga' on the field as an Offering, Tribute Summon! The master of the storm—

——Raiza the Storm Monarch, Summon!"

The green storm rushed to the sky like a tornado, and the Monarch of the storm descended with his arms crossed!

"Hmm?" Thestalos the Firestorm Monarch's gaze became sharp.

It's actually a colleague?

"When Raiza the Storm Monarch is successfully Tribute Summoned, one card on the field returns to the top of the owner's deck." Fujiki You Xuan paused and smiled. "So, 'Thestalos the Firestorm Monarch', return to the top of the deck once again."

The Underworld Overlord's smile stopped abruptly.

". Eh?"

The smile gradually disappeared, and the expression on his face turned into terror.

He turned his head to look at the Monarch on the field, his terrified expression as if saying—

——Lord Monarch, hurry and use your invincible banishing power to think of a way!

However, the Monarch looked at him with a helpless expression too.

It was as if he was indicating that it wasn't that he didn't want to help, but that he really couldn't do this job, and was powerless.

This dog's realm has exceeded my ability range...

Thus, the Monarch turned back into a ball of black mist in the storm and flew back to the top of the deck.

The Underworld Overlord held his head and let out a painful wail.

Lord Monarch has been bounced back to the deck again and again...

On the field, only Raiza the Storm Monarch remained, arms crossed and high above, as if everything was under control, exuding an aura of looking down on the stars.

Now who is the Monarch who dominates the underworld?

"Raiza the Storm Monarch, direct attack." Fujiki You Xuan said.

The green storm rolled over, the Underworld Overlord was blown into mid-air by the storm, spinning helplessly in the sky, while thousands of wind blades swept across his body, and finally, he fell heavily back to the ground in a mess.

【Overlord of the Dark Demon Realm, LP4000 → LP1600】

"Ugh..."

The dignified Overlord of the Dark Demon Realm was almost crying at this moment.

There was pain, there was grievance...

Clearly I have turned dark, used forbidden power, and sold my soul to the most evil Monarch, yet I still have to suffer this kind of grievance...

Wouldn't that mean I sold it for nothing?

"Alright, my turn is over." Fujiki You Xuan smiled. "It's your turn."

Overlord of the Dark Demon Realm: "."

"Hmm? Not drawing a card?" Fujiki You Xuan laughed. "That's not right. Although it looks like you are empty-handed and have an empty field now, isn't there a saying? As long as a duelist still has cards in their deck, there is still a chance.

What if your next god-draw changes the world?"

The Overlord of the Dark Demon Realm's mouth twitched.

Hearing this, he couldn't help but want to cry even more.

Your grandma's, what my next card is, it's like you don't know, right?

What the hell is the use of me drawing a Monarch while empty-handed and with an empty field?

The Overlord of the Dark Demon Realm gritted his teeth.

"Draw... draw card."

He drew the top card with difficulty.

Sure enough, Thestalos the Firestorm Monarch.

The strongest card in his deck, the incarnation of forbidden power, the trump card that housed the power of an evil spirit.

However, at this critical moment, the trump card was in hand, but both sides looked at each other in silence, as if speechless.

The Overlord of the Dark Demon Realm looked at the only card of Lord Monarch in his hand with a constipated expression, wanting to say in his heart, Lord Monarch, can you please roll away?

I'm being card-stuck by you...

But the Monarch was also very helpless.

I also wanted to give you a god-draw, but I was pinned here by my brother Raiza, what else can I do?

"If you don't make a move, then it's my turn again." Fujiki You Xuan smiled. "Draw card.

Raiza the Storm Monarch, direct attack."

Overlord of the Dark Demon Realm: "."
