Chapter 337: Monarch vs Cyber Dragon

"Hiss~ The Lord of the Yellow Dorm is still the Lord of the Yellow Dorm."

The student who was livestreaming gasped.

"Kaiser's two Cyber Twin Dragons, four attacks, were actually resolved so lightly..."

Speaking of this, he couldn't help but feel a bit of sadness.

Is it really not going to work?

If even someone as strong as Kaiser struggles so much against the 'Huang Quan', where should the rest of us go...

Marufuji Ryo took a deep breath and said: "Then I activate the Magic Card 'Card of Burial'. Banish the Magic Cards 'Mystical Space Typhoon', 'Pot of Greed', and 'Graceful Charity' from the Graveyard, and draw two cards." (Original card)

After drawing again, he waved his hand helplessly.

"Set three cards, turn end."

The offensive was completely resolved, and the front field was now blank. His LP was only 1600, and his defense for the next turn could only be pinned on the backrow.

"My turn, draw."

Fujiki You Xuan pointed to his front field, and another holy white light descended from the sky.

"My Storm Monarch on the front field was sacrificed, and my backrow face-down cards were all used up, so there are no more Magic or Trap cards set. Therefore, the effect of 'Treeborn Frog' in the Graveyard can be activated again. In the Standby Phase, if there are no cards in my backrow, Treeborn Frog is Special Summoned from the Graveyard."

【Treeborn Frog, DEF 100】

Marufuji Ryo frowned.

Treeborn Frog... he seemed to have started to understand the way Fujiki You Xuan's Monarch deck operated.

Treeborn Frog, which can infinitely revive every turn, can effectively provide Offerings for the Monarchs to appear on each of his turns. And Monarchs of different attributes possess various powerful field-clearing effects, allowing him to have powerful offensive capabilities and continuous sustainability every turn.

In fact, this was also the most classic top-tier build during the heyday of physical Monarchs, a powerful combination known as "Frog Monarch".

Sure enough, the Monarch with Treeborn Frog as an infinite Offering launched a new round of strong attacks again.

"Offer 'Treeborn Frog' as an Offering," Fujiki You Xuan said. "Tribute Summon! This time it's the Monarch of the Earth, showing the power to shake the sky and earth—

—Granmarg the Rock Monarch, summon!!!"

The earth-shaking roar echoed, and the earth shattered. The ground seemed to be shaking violently, accompanied by countless flying gravel.

Appearing from the crack was a heavy golden body, shining brightly as if sunlight were scattered on the earth, and it also looked like armor piled up from steel boulders, its weight immeasurable, and just the pressure of its arrival made people unable to breathe.

Granmarg the Rock Monarch, descend!

【Granmarg the Rock Monarch, ATK 2400】

"When Granmarg the Rock Monarch is successfully Tribute Summoned, destroy one face-down card on the field."

Fujiki You Xuan pointed to Kaiser's backrow.

"Hmm, then I'll just pick one randomly... The one in the middle."

Marufuji Ryo took a deep breath: "Then I chain and activate this face-down card, Trap Card 'Back to the Front'! Su Sheng a monster from the Graveyard in Defense Position!"

The vortex of the Graveyard opened, and the giant steel dragon revived from the Graveyard accompanied by leaping electric light.

"Su Sheng 'Cyber Dragon' from the Graveyard!"

【Cyber Dragon, DEF 1600】

A student from the Yellow Dorm among the spectators said: "So close. This way, at least Kaiser has a defensive monster, he should be able to survive this turn's attack..."

"Then 'Granmarg the Rock Monarch' attacks 'Cyber Dragon'." Fujiki You Xuan said.

Marufuji Ryo shouted: "Activate Trap 'Attack Reflector Unit'!"

The Trap card flipped, and a scene like an arsenal was projected on the field, with countless mechanical arms and engineering equipment surrounding Cyber Dragon, performing technological modifications on it.

"Attack Reflector Unit, offer 'Cyber Dragon' on my field as an Offering, and I can Special Summon 'Cyber Barrier Dragon' from my deck!" Marufuji Ryo shouted.

"Offer 'Cyber Dragon' as a sacrifice, evolve into a new form! Cyber Barrier Dragon, summon!"

A golden beam of light shot into the sky, Cyber Dragon rapidly transformed and modified within it, evolving into a new giant steel dragon.

【Cyber Barrier Dragon, DEF 2800】

"The DEF is 2800!" the Blue Dorm student said. "This way the Monarch can't break through!"

"Then the battle is rolled back, 'Granmarg the Rock Monarch' gives up the attack."

Fujiki You Xuan revealed another card from his hand.

"However, I activate the Quick-Play Magic 'Double Summon', which allows me to perform one additional Normal Summon for a monster in my hand." (Original card)

He revealed another card in his hand.

"Offer 'Granmarg the Rock Monarch' as an Offering, Tribute Summon again!"

Marufuji Ryo's expression also changed slightly: "A second Monarch summon in one turn?"

!. Read

"Under the sky intertwined with thunder, the Monarch who controls lightning—

—Zaborg the Thunder Monarch, summon!"

A projection of black clouds appeared in the sky, releasing oppressive energy like a boiling ocean. Silver lightning shuttled through the clouds, like the sword of a god dancing, a huge vortex rotated and expanded, and a burly body descended amidst the rolling thunder!

【Zaborg the Thunder Monarch, ATK 2400】

"When Zaborg the Thunder Monarch is successfully Tribute Summoned, destroy one monster on the field!" Fujiki You Xuan said. "Destroy 'Cyber Barrier Dragon'!"

The Thunder Monarch held his palm high, and golden light shot into the sky from his palm. The sky seemed to be torn apart, and thunder poured down like a torrent, blasting down toward the location of Cyber Barrier Dragon with the momentum of thunder shaking the nine heavens. The giant steel dragon looked so fragile under the thick lightning, and the thunder pillar carried endless power to pierce through it, simply as easy as a hot knife cutting through butter.

"Uh..." Marufuji Ryo raised his arm to protect his face, blocking the impact of the explosion.

"Oh oh, how could this be, the Barrier Dragon that was finally summoned is shattered again in front of the Monarch's divine power!"

The student who was livestreaming dutifully performed his duties as a commentator.

"In this way, Kaiser's field has become empty again! Will the Thunder Monarch's attack determine the birth of the academy's new king!?"

Fujiki You Xuan waved his hand to order: "Zaborg the Thunder Monarch, attack directly."

Electric light rolled between the Thunder Monarch's palms, and the current struck out a shining arc!

"Activate face-down card!" Marufuji Ryo shouted. "Continuous Trap 'Call of the Haunted'! Su Sheng a monster from the Graveyard in Attack Position!"

The monster card in the Graveyard ejected.

"I revive 'Cyber Barrier Dragon'!"

Fujiki You Xuan's first reaction was to instinctively want to say, no, this is a cheat, Cyber Barrier Dragon cannot be Special Summoned by effects other than "Attack Reflector Unit", even if it appeared normally, because this is its own monster effect.

But he immediately remembered that in the episode where Cyber Barrier Dragon appeared, Marufuji Ryo seemed to have indeed said that he could use Call of the Haunted to revive Cyber Barrier Dragon to block attacks when facing Vampire Camula.

So it was clear that there was no such summoning restriction in the anime; as long as it appeared normally, it should be able to be revived.

"'Cyber Barrier Dragon', Special Summon again!"

【Cyber Barrier Dragon, ATK 800】

"Cyber Barrier Dragon's effect: while this card is in Attack Position, once per turn, I can negate the opponent's monster's attack." Marufuji Ryo said.

The mechanism on Cyber Dragon's head started, and a defensive energy field barrier was deployed. The Thunder Monarch's current blasted into it, bursting on the barrier.

In fact, the battle could be rolled back, but it didn't make any difference whether he attacked or not, so Fujiki You Xuan didn't cancel the attack.

"Then set one card," Fujiki You Xuan said. "Turn end."

The mechanism on the head of Cyber Dragon activated, deploying a defensive energy field barrier. Lei Di's electric current slammed right into it, bursting open against the barrier.

In fact, it was possible to rewind the battle, but it wouldn't have made any difference whether he attacked here or not, so Fujiki You Xuan did not cancel the attack.

"Then I set one card face-down," Fujiki You Xuan said. "Turn end."
