Chapter 393: Obsession

BOOM!

Giant Rex's suicidal explosion crashed into Ultimate Dragon and exploded exaggeratedly, as if turning into a giant fireball.

However, when the smoke cleared, the giant, noble dragon silhouette emerged again, still standing proudly on the field.

"What?"

Loren was taken aback.

"Why...!?"

【Kaiba, LP 400】

"Quick-Play Spell 'My Body as a Shield', pay 1500 Life Points to negate and destroy an effect that would destroy cards on the field." Kaiba said indifferently, "Therefore, the destruction effect of 'Survival's End' is negated."

"The destruction of 'Giant Rex' and 'Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon' is negated."

"Tch." Loren gritted his teeth, "To think you'd use yourself as a shield for Ultimate Dragon..."

"Battle." Kaiba shouted, "'Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon', attack 'Giant Rex'!"

"Burst Stream of Destruction!"

Ultimate Dragon swung its three heads simultaneously, and the dazzling white light in its mouth surged out like a scorching torrent!

Even with the Seal's boost, Giant Rex was completely powerless to resist in the face of this destructive energy, and was torn into pieces in the white light along with a scream.

"Ugh, ahhh!"

The exaggerated energy impact, like a visible white storm, lifted Loren into mid-air, his whole body flipped exaggeratedly, and he crashed heavily into the green light barrier behind him.

【Loren, LP 2400 → LP 400】

"The effect of Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon." Kaiba continued, "Only once per duel, this card can attack three times in one turn!" (Original effect)

He paused, squinting his eyes at the "Super Conductor Tyranno" remaining on Loren's field.

"This monster seems to have the troublesome ability to bounce the opponent's monster back to the hand after battle... but that's also something that happens after damage calculation!"

Kaiba raised his volume and shouted loudly.

"Before that, just defeat it with absolute power!"

"Continue battle, Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon's second attack! Attack 'Super Conductor Tyranno'!"

"Burst Stream of Destruction, double strike!"

Anyway, although the "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon" in the anime has one chance to attack three times, as a side effect of this ability, it would originally self-destruct at the end of the Battle Phase after using this ability.

So this is a suicidal OTK-type ability, either kill in one hit or self-destruct. Anyway, even if Super Conductor Tyranno didn't bounce it back, it would explode on its own if it failed to complete the kill.

"Crush! Shatter! Big Applause!" Kaiba shouted at the top of his lungs, "The future is only held by those who look forward, the weak should just sink with those boring memories of yours!"

It was radiance that seemed to swallow the heavens and earth, the scorching white light in the White Dragon's three mouths was almost like three scorching suns, shining down and almost swallowing Loren.

Loren looked up at the white light, his expression dazed again for a brief moment.

"..."

The flashback of memory returned to that day.

The darkest day in his memory, and also the day he would never be able to shake off in his life.

The village like purgatory, everywhere was fire and black smoke, and monster-like groans. The man whose appearance had already been twisted was crawling toward him bit by bit on the ground.

The man who was once his father now had a similar appearance to those zombie-like monsters, and the eyes looking at him no longer had that gentleness and doting, but only a hunger that seemed to come from instinct.

The child sat on the ground, already almost frozen, his hands and feet cold and unable to move, only tears flowing uncontrollably.

The man crawled in front of him, slowly reaching out that terrifying hand that was shocking to the eye.

Then gently.

Placed a card in front of him.

Then that hand hung down, just a step away from him, lying on the ground and completely silent.

The child was dazed, as if he had become a fool, staying there without moving.

Until a zombie-like creature discovered him, let out a strange cry, and rushed toward him like a hungry tiger.

At that moment, the card placed in front of him suddenly bloomed with golden light. A phantom flew out from that card, and the power that shot into the sky blasted the zombie away with one hit, rolling and hitting the wall root without any movement.

The child finally came back to his senses, looked at the phantom flying out of the card in shock, and asked with a trembling voice, not daring to believe it.

"Dad... Dad?"

"..."

"What a joke."

Loren's eyes had already turned blood red.

"To actually say it's a boring memory..." He looked up at the white light of destruction, his expression twisted, "Kaiba... Seto!"

BOOM—

The second strike, the bursting beam annihilated everything. Super Conductor Tyranno was also smashed to pieces under the White Dragon's bombardment, and Loren was blown away again.

"Is it finally over?" Mokuba muttered.

However...

The figure that was blown over and lying on the ground twitched, and then stood up slowly, supporting the ground with both hands, still smoking black. The real damage of the Shadow Duel in the Orichalcos seal, plus the two strikes from a creature of the level of the True Ultimate Dragon, it wouldn't be strange if an ordinary person collapsed because their body and spirit couldn't bear the load.

But he stood up again, as if he were too stubborn to die.

【Loren, LP 1900】

"Eh?" Mokuba was shocked, "Why... why?"

"Eh?" Mokuba was startled. "Wh-why?"

So his Life Points returned to 4400 before the White Dragon's strike hit, then Super Conductor Tyranno was destroyed in battle, he took 2500 damage, so his current Life Points are 1900.

"What a tenacious guy." Mokuba frowned, "But Ultimate Dragon still has one last attack, the result hasn't changed..."

"No." You Xuan patted him on the shoulder and reminded, "The effect of Super Conductor Tyranno."

"Ah!" Mokuba finally reacted.

"Exactly, when Super Conductor Tyranno fails to destroy the opponent's monster after battle, that monster is returned to the hand after damage calculation!"

A powerful death-trigger effect, which exerted its effect in the situation where Ultimate Dragon's one-hit OTK failed. The phantom of Super Conductor Tyranno appeared, roared, and slammed into Ultimate Dragon like a ghost.

True Ultimate Dragon instantly turned into a beam of white light and flew back into Kaiba's deck.

"True Ultimate Dragon is a Fusion monster, it cannot return to the hand, so it naturally returns to the Fusion Deck." Loren said gloomily, "I won't fall easily, Kaiba Seto."

"If I fall here... then where will my hatred and anger until now go!?"
