Chapter 409: Beloved Monster

Earth descends!

The white giant landed and kicked up a sky-high dust curtain again, his body standing tall!

【Elemental HERO Earth, ATK 2500】

"Summoned Xiang Hongye's two trump cards in one go," Mokuba couldn't help but say. "Amazing!"

Xiang Lu looked at Judai on the stage, and for a moment, she seemed to see Xiang Hongye's back overlapping with the teenager, and she couldn't help but be lost in thought for a while.

"Is this what you wanted to pass on through dueling, Hongye?" she muttered.

"It's not over yet! Elemental HERO Earth's effect activates, sacrifice 'Elemental HERO Absolute Zero', and it can absorb its ATK and DEF values!"

"The Earth Magma!!!"

As Judai ordered, Absolute Zero soon turned into pure energy and merged into Earth's body. Earth's originally snow-white body instantly became scorching, and lava seemed to erupt from his body, his whole body becoming as red as a branding iron.

【Elemental HERO Earth, ATK 2500 → ATK 5000】

"5000 ATK..."

The Arbiter looked up at Earth, as if looking directly at Xiang Hongye's ghost.

"Want to decide the victory in one blow?"

"It's not over yet, this moment activates the new ability of 'Elemental HERO Absolute Zero'—"

"—Absolute Zero!!!"

"Nani!?" The audience was shocked.

This time even Kaiba lost his composure a bit.

"This kid, relying on the duelist's 'power', realized the evolution of the monster on the spot?"

This situation is not without precedent, such as the "Master of Oz" fused by Yugi and Kaiba was born like this. But the probability of this situation is indeed small to almost zero.

This is not just because the duelist needs to have powerful destiny power, but also needs to have an extraordinary connection with the monster being manipulated, which is what many people call "bond."

Only when the duelist and the monster resonate highly in a very specific situation can the monster's autonomous evolution be triggered in a duel.

Commonly known as printing cards.

Just like Judai is doing now, he awakened the hidden new ability of "Elemental HERO Absolute Zero," which was originally held by Xiang Hongye.

Although it was only for a short moment, just now, the Arbiter clearly saw that the teenager's eyes flashed with gold.

Like burning, awe-inspiring golden pupils.

But it was only for that moment, and it soon returned to its original state.

"Hehe, I really didn't misread you," the Arbiter smiled.

Indeed an interesting kid...

"Elemental HERO Absolute Zero, new effect! When this card leaves the field, all monsters on the opponent's field are destroyed!"

"Such a powerful ability!?"

Mokuba was astonished.

Absolute freezing, as if the temperature on the field had dropped to absolute zero. No conventional creature could survive in such ice and snow, and the Arbiter's Dark Armed Dragon, Flame Wingman, and Hell Poet, all monsters on the field were instantly frozen, and then shattered into brilliant ice crystals all over the ground in just a few seconds.

"Interesting... really very interesting."

The Arbiter became more and more interested.

"Battle, the final blow!" Judai said. "Earth's attack will become the end of the duel..."

The extreme ice, followed by the lava flames. Earth with 5000 ATK absorbed all the erupting lava into his body and condensed it into a destructive flame sword in his hand!

Even the audience couldn't help but hold their breath at this moment.

Will he win?

"Not bad, not bad, at least it stimulated a little bit of the original power... But it's a pity, this level is still not enough."

The Arbiter said calmly.

"It seems that if I don't force you to face your past, that sleeping soul will not fully awaken."

"What?" Judai frowned.

"Dartz has resources all over the world, and we know everything that has happened in this world from ancient times to the present. Since you have forgotten it yourself, let me help you recall it."

The Arbiter said indifferently.

"That year, you just understood the game of Duel Monsters. Your father returned from a business trip, and the rare card he bought from outside, that card that was once your truly beloved monster, that card that had extraordinary significance to you..."

Judai was stunned.

That distant voice echoed in his mind again.

"Judai... Judai..."

Here it comes again, that voice again.

His heartbeat was accelerating, and his brain started to feel heavy again. Judai clutched his head, his figure stumbling.

What exactly is it? The important thing he forgot...

No, can't be led by the opponent's rhythm.

Finish the duel first.

"Elemental HERO Earth!" Judai shouted. "Direct attack!"

The moment the blade of flames was drawn, he felt his headache seem to intensify.

He stumbled and almost couldn't stand steady.

But the order had been successfully conveyed, and Earth had already crossed the frozen field, the high temperature around him seemingly melting all the ice and snow on the ground. Earth's blade struck, a blow with 5000 power slashing towards the Arbiter's face.

"Activate set card."

The Arbiter hooked his finger.

"Trap Card 'Enemy Alarm'. When the opponent's monster declares an attack, Special Summon a monster from the hand, and the opponent must forcibly attack that monster." (Original effect)

Judai's headache intensified to the extreme.

Something is coming, something very important to him...

"Special Summon this card from the hand, meet your old friend—"

The Arbiter calmly flipped over a card in his hand.

"—Yubel, summon!"

Thorny vines flew out from the ground, circling several times. The shadow of a demon condensed into shape, wrapped in huge black bone wings.

Then suddenly, the bone wings spread out, and the demon with a feminine figure slowly raised his head, heterochromatic pupils slowly opened, looking at Judai coldly.

【Yubel, ATK 0】

This time even Fujiki You Xuan was a bit surprised.

Yubel!?

Could it be that Yubel was intercepted by Dartz when returning from space...

Considering Dartz's influence and energy all over the world, it doesn't seem difficult for them.

However, after looking closely, Fujiki You Xuan found that it didn't seem to be the case.

This card is not a spirit.

In this way, it is possible that although Yubel's card is rare, it may not be the only one in the world. It's just that the one Judai held when he was a child harbored a spirit that had a deep connection with him. This one has no spirit and no extraordinary attributes, just an ordinary rare monster card. With the Arbiter's ability, it is naturally not difficult to get it.

Judai widened his eyes, looking at the monster on the opposite field, and suddenly felt a shock in his heart.

The fragmented memories were pieced together as if they were automatically attracted to each other.

A card he once liked the most, the one with the most special significance to him, the first spirit he encountered in his life...

"Enemy Alarm's effect, Earth forcibly attacks Yubel," the Arbiter said.

"But Yubel's ATK is only 0!" Mokuba said.

Kaiba frowned: "No, that monster's special effect..."

"Yubel cannot be destroyed by battle, and battle damage to yourself becomes 0. And..." the Arbiter said indifferently. "Reflect that damage to the opponent."

"Nani!?" Mokuba was shocked. "What kind of shameless effect is this!?"

Earth with 5000 ATK slashed at Yubel with a sword, but couldn't deal half a point of damage. Instead, the vines around Yubel circled up, absorbing all the lava and energy, and pierced towards Judai like lightning!

Judai was pierced through the chest and retreated while shaking, but until the end, he still stared at the direction of the monster that gave him the fatal blow.

"Yu... Yubel..."

【Judai, LP 1200 → LP 0】
