Chapter 462

Thus, DD discarded the strongest trump card in his deck, "D-Force," to the Graveyard.

He did it voluntarily.

It's just that the guy didn't look very happy; his expression kept twitching, and he was muttering things like "I'll kill you."

"Do you think anything will change without D-Force?"

DD shouted.

"My Plasma still possesses the light power to destroy the world; I am still the strongest duelist!"

He revealed a card from his hand.

"Spell card 'Graceful Charity', draw three cards from the deck, then discard two cards from my hand."

Following that, he immediately summoned a monster from his hand.

"Normal Summon 'Skull Lair'!"

What appeared was a hideous green monster with a single blood-red eye on its huge, round green forehead, waving twisted green tentacles all around.

【Skull Lair, ATK 1700】

"Skull Lair's effect: banish two Water-attribute monsters from my Graveyard to Special Summon one 'Skull Lair Token' to my field in Attack Position."

DD revealed two Water-attribute monsters in his Graveyard, clearly the ones he had just discarded.

"Banish the Water-attribute 'Bottle Turtle' and 'Water Spirit Aquaria' from the Graveyard, Special Summon 'Skull Lair Token'!"

The two Water-attribute monsters disappeared from the field, and the green giant eye waved its tentacles. Soon, two streams of water converged, turning into a tentacled giant eye one size smaller than itself but identical in appearance.

【Skull Lair Token, ATK 700】

"Next, activate Spell card 'Fiend's Sanctuary', Special Summon 'Metal Fiend Token'!"

【Metal Fiend Token, ATK 0】

"Gathered three tributes so quickly..." Aster's expression was solemn.

It was already very obvious that Plasma was basically the core of DD's deck; the rest of his deck was either support for Plasma or tributes to summon him quickly. Even without D-Force, Plasma was still his best option.

For him, this was actually a matter of having no choice, because Plasma was the source of his power, the card that gave him the power to reach the pinnacle.

This is the same reason why many duelists in this world are obsessed with summoning their trump cards, even if their trump card is just a high-star normal monster. The more a duelist comes into contact with the extraordinary, the more this is true.

"Three monsters as tributes, descend once again, and dye this world blood-red!"

DD shouted.

"Ultimate D, Destiny HERO - Plasma, summon!!!"

The three monsters decomposed into blood-red mud again, and the hideous Plasma slowly rose from the churning blood, his spread bone wings releasing a terrifying blood-red aura, as if to cover the sky.

【Destiny HERO - Plasma, ATK 1900】

But without the empowerment of D-Force, his effect was far inferior to before, and his momentum was clearly weaker than his last appearance.

"Destiny HERO - Plasma's effect, once per turn, absorb one monster as an equip card!" DD shouted. "Absorb 'Nightmare Penguin'!"

The blood arrow shot by Plasma transformed into tentacles again, binding the little penguin and absorbing it into his body, gaining half of the penguin's ATK.

【Nightmare Penguin, ATK 900】

【Destiny HERO - Plasma, ATK 1900 → ATK 2350】

"Then Plasma attacks directly!" DD ordered. "Blood Terror!"

Plasma's bone wings spread, and countless blood arrows shot toward Fujiki You Xuan, but they immediately collided with a gray-black transparent phantom and were blocked outside.

"Banish 'Necro Gardna' from the Graveyard," Fujiki You Xuan said. "I can negate the opponent's attack once this turn."

DD frowned.

"Fine, then set two cards, turn end."

DD let out a long breath.

Although not having D-Force would have a significant impact, at least he had re-summoned Plasma. Fate should still be on his side.

He had always won this way; even when he didn't put it in his deck during official tournaments, Plasma had given him the power to suppress any duelist. There was no reason he couldn't win now.

Unless the power of the person before him could even surpass this Ultimate D.

That was impossible; no one could surpass the Ultimate D, and it had to be that way.

Otherwise, wouldn't his murder of Aster's father, his concealment of the truth all these years, and his endurance of the torture of power all become a joke?

"Then it's my turn, draw." Fujiki You Xuan said. "It seems you have quite a bit of confidence in that so-called Ultimate Hero."

"Of course," DD said. "Plasma's power is absolute!"

"Is that so..."

Fujiki You Xuan nodded slightly.

Then he revealed a faint smile that seemed somewhat terrifying to DD.

"Then let's start by crushing it from this part."

DD was startled: "What?"

"Banish the Light-attribute 'Silent Magician' and the Dark-attribute 'Twilight Knight' from the Graveyard."

Fujiki You Xuan slowly raised the card in his hand.

"Tribute the souls of light and dark to the chaotic field, the legendary warrior descends once again. Heaven and earth open—

—Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning, summon!"

The intersecting light and dark disappeared into the chaotic vortex, and then that mass of chaos suddenly exploded. Sword energy slashed through the void, and the swordsman appeared magnificently from that vortex.

【Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning, ATK 3000】

"Envoy of the Beginning..." DD said in a low voice. "The legendary warrior, still want to challenge the power of the Ultimate D?"

"You seem to have misunderstood something."

Fujiki You Xuan said faintly. "The challenger... is you."

DD: "!"

"The effect of 'Twilight Knight' banished from the Graveyard just now activates. When this card is banished, add one Ritual monster from my deck to my hand."

Fujiki You Xuan drew a card that automatically popped out of his deck.

"Add another 'Black Luster Soldier' from my deck to my hand."

Although he only had one Envoy of the Beginning, Fujiki You Xuan had originally obtained the original normal Ritual monster "Black Luster Soldier" from a research institute under the Kaiba Corporation, so he didn't just have one.

"Next, Envoy of the Beginning's effect activates. Once per turn, banish one monster on the field." Fujiki You Xuan said. "Banish 'Destiny HERO - Plasma'.

Chaotic Dimension Slash!"

The Black Luster sword slashed out, the sword light as if splitting the void. It was the legendary sword that split heaven and earth; wherever the sword energy went, dimensions shattered, and a long sword mark left behind spread all the way to where Plasma was.

"An expected attack!" DD was not panicked at all. "Activate face-down card, Continuous Trap 'Fiendish Chain'! Negate the effects of Envoy of the Beginning, it cannot change its battle position, and it cannot declare an attack!"

Please... you... collect 6... 9... book...!

Dark green demonic chains shot out from the trap, heading straight to bind the Black Luster Soldier!

"I am invincible now that I have gained the power of Plasma!" DD's eyes were already bloodshot, and he shouted almost frantically. "So what if it's the legendary warrior! He can't even touch a finger of Plasma!"

"Is that so?" Fujiki You Xuan said. "It seems that not only me, but even the legendary warrior has been underestimated by you..."

The Black Luster Soldier nodded at him.

Fujiki You Xuan immediately waved his hand: "Activate face-down card, Trap card 'Super Soldier Rebirth'!

Tribute one 'Black Luster Soldier' monster on my field, and Special Summon one 'Black Luster Soldier' with a different name from my hand, ignoring its summoning conditions!"

DD was shocked: "Ignoring summoning conditions...!?"

"Correct, the 'Black Luster Soldier' I just searched to my hand via 'Twilight Knight's' effect."

Fujiki You Xuan revealed the Ritual monster in his hand.

"Reincarnate, Knight of the Beginning, open the gates of chaos once again and descend—

—Black Luster Soldier, Reincarnation Summon!"

The chaotic cyclone erupted around the Envoy of the Beginning, instantly scattering the incoming chains. Amidst the chaotic aura, sword energy surged, and the Black Luster Soldier descended again in a different style of armor.

【Black Luster Soldier, ATK 3000】

"Envoy of the Beginning was tributed to the Graveyard and no longer exists on the field, so 'Fiendish Chain' loses its target and naturally becomes negated," Fujiki You Xuan said.

DD said in a low voice: "But the Black Luster Soldier summoned this way is just a 3000 ATK blank slate, it doesn't have the power to defeat Plasma..."

As soon as the words left his mouth, he realized the problem, and his pupils contracted sharply again.

"You seem to have realized," Fujiki You Xuan smiled. "Correct. Envoy of the Beginning's 'Chaotic Dimension Slash' had already been activated, but before the effect resolved, Envoy of the Beginning had already gone to the Graveyard due to 'Super Soldier Rebirth' and was no longer on the field.

When the effect resolved, 'Fiendish Chain' had already lost its target, so the activation of Chaotic Dimension Slash remained valid."

While speaking, the sword energy of the Black Luster Soldier, who had already left the field, slashed out as if crossing a spatial barrier. The space was slashed open, releasing a terrifying suction force that pulled Plasma into it!

"Tribute to escape again!?"

Aster was stunned.

He was already a well-known rookie in the professional circle and considered himself to have seen many experts. But reflecting on it, he felt that in his life, the duelist he had encountered who could so freely use means like tribute to escape and self-chaining seemed to be truly this one person alone.

"Although the Black Luster Soldier cannot attack the turn it activates 'Chaotic Dimension Slash', the one that used the Dimension Slash was the Envoy of the Beginning that had already been tributed, which has nothing to do with the 'Black Luster Soldier' that just appeared."

Fujiki You Xuan said.

"The Black Luster Soldier can still attack this turn.

Black Luster Soldier, direct attack!"

The Black Luster Soldier was expressionless, calmly pulling out the sword in his hand, and as if waving it casually, the fatal sword energy pointed straight at DD's face.

DD's face twitched.

Are you kidding me?

He was a world champion, and he had the empowerment of the invincible Ultimate D.

He had sold his soul, and it was agreed that he would never be defeated again in this life.

It was agreed that he would become the pinnacle of the world.

Today, when even Plasma had been summoned, why would he still lose?

This is unacceptable?

He had one last move: "Activate face-down card! Trap card—

—Dimensional Prison!"

Aster: "!"

This guy DD... actually still had such a trump card hidden!

"When an opponent's monster declares an attack, banish the attacking monster directly!" DD's eyes were bloodshot. "Disappear, Black Luster Soldier..."

But before he could finish his sentence, he widened his eyes in shock, almost biting his own tongue.

Because he saw the Black Luster Soldier slash casually, and the domineering sword energy broke straight through the crack of Dimensional Prison.

That void was like a mere facade before the chaotic sword energy, opening for only an instant before immediately dissipating.

He was bewildered, he was unwilling, and he was confused.

Why!?

Even if you call it a legendary swordsman, isn't this thing a blank slate? Why can it even ignore Dimensional Prison?

"Counter Trap," Fujiki You Xuan pointed to the last face-down card on the field. "'Super Soldier Shield'.

When a 'Black Luster Soldier' monster exists on my field, when a monster effect, Spell, or Trap card that targets a monster on the field is activated, negate that activation and destroy it."

Fujiki You Xuan paused for a moment and said faintly.

"I said you underestimated the legendary warrior too much."

DD stared blankly at the sword slashing toward him, the unstoppable sword that he had exhausted his fate power and all his means to block but couldn't.

Suddenly, he felt that the glory of the past ten years was like a joke under this sword, so ridiculous and so small.

【DD, LP 1300 → LP 0】
